Grats! Let us know what you think.
It's awesome! Really good for me particularly with this one strain that usually makes me cough a lot, even with a Stereo Matrix, didn't get as much of the taste but that doesn't bother me, really liked the smoothness, definitely going to be my go-to for at least this particular strain :rockon:

Ahah I'm happy you asked what was best between Bates & Worm diff pump and a DG and finally got both!!!

You see, as we discussed in MP: the DG is the smoothest hit with less flavor, but the B&W is really a good equilibrium between both (smooth & flavorful)!

anyone know where i can get a 24/5mm male to 18mm female reducer? didn't quite get system down (am more visual) and i ordered the female to female adapter and little fritts for my 18" tube. problem being that i now have an open 24/5mm female hole w/ no 24/5mm male slide or adapter for an 18mm slide. any suggestions?

i know pv lists them, but haven't ever seen 'em in stock. pm'd them. any other ideas?

Yeah, gotta wait for the Bates & Worm (returned for a cleaner one) but the DG is great, not sure if I'll use it for dabs, it seems to me cleaning would be a pain, especially when I'll have the Bates & Worm soon and have a couple Mobius pieces that clean quickly with Grunge Off.

bassplayer,
ISO+salt and 5-10 min shake works for me. Its not as bad as one would think. Can't be as bad as some other multiple perc pieces
And thats after weeks sometimes up to a month of daily cloud usage... I know its time to change water when my water looks like t-dubs... :)
My 16" convert still gets used daily to really condition the big rips. I'm working on a bub to replace my mini-can, but the tube is definitely sticking around for the long haul(knock on wood).

Bob, I can cut down some pre-frits 18mm for you. Then just get a 18/18mm F adaptor.
Btw, you want it for combustion??
thanks, man. i actually got a great response back from PV. they are gonna have my adapter for me in a week. same time the volcano adapters come (half the price of the illadelph). yea, i was gonna use it to to burn (shhhh, don't tell anyone). honestly i should just return them and go for the mcfinn's, but i'll just end up getting both. just want to keep particulate out of the piece. thanks for offering to trim those down for me tho! out of curiousity, how would you go about doing that?

Maybe just an extra long soak with Grunge Off?
If you want to go the liquid chemical route there are many alternatives. I experimented with a homemade version of GO that was ok. Simple Green comes to mind as very effective and ISO for that matter. But liquid chemicals can be expensive, bulky to store and transport, and environmentally unsound. Also, any cleaning system that utilizes "shaking" as a method of putting energy into the cleaning process, is going to get a thumbs down from me. The "shake & break" method is probably responsible for more broken glass than anything, imo, and my arthritis will not allow it.

I want a concentrated powder that mixes with hot water directly in my glass, cleans it perfectly with a modest dwell time (no shaking), which then washes responsibly down the drain leaving nothing but purity and clean behind.

I love clean :luv:

With my DG's I just use ISO and when I fill it I just blow throw the male joint so I can run it threw the fritt. Cleans it might nice, although I don't combust through mine and I barely dab so it really doesn't get that dirty in the first place.

You are correct, ISO is a great solution. But, its expensive, you dump it down the sink, its bulky to store and transport, its flammable with harsh vapors, it doesn't get rid of hard water stains, and although is a solvent for resin, it doesn't really disassociate or "clean" any other tough stains or "soil"s that we might encounter in our travels. So I search for something different. ISO will always have a place in my lab, its just the research chemists in the cleaning industry have come up with some really interesting options for us these days.

yea, i have a distillation/reclaim setup that lets me re-use my ISO, but ur right, more is needed for complete clean. good start for first rinses, tho

One thing about ISO, a good hot water flush can be almost as effective.

This will give you guys some idea what I have in mind. It started with the HT flush hose, see my thread here, and then I scouted and added the first test chemicals. One powder, one dwell time, one rinse. This is TEST footage guys, please don't hash me up for violating safety rules, swearing, using and almost breaking a one of a kind prototype to test on (Its ok, I know my chemistry AND my contact dermatitis) ;)

I don't judge, and I won't tell, I had to try it once with the 16" and it was rough on me..
I would just shave mine down with a wet saw, and swap you for yours. I've been meaning to shave a couple of mine to sell with the mini can.
A dremel with a diamond blade would work... But might be a little rougher edges and glass would be flying every where(safety glasses/long sleeves MIGHT protect a guy).
Offer stands, but sounds like you figured it out. I think the carbon would keep the frit the cleanest.
Stay up Bob
T-dub. Great idea with the glass flushing! I need to get a bunch of stoppers.. Any common brick and morter stores carry them?

I've got a carbon filter (a cheapo black leaf one), and it really works well.
I paired it with my 250ml EHLE, to let my buddies combust through if they wanted, and after they had a few, the EHLE itself still looked perfectly clean, even the holes on the diffy didn't look like theyd picked up anything
I've only used the fritter filter disc with vapes, but it does stop my LSV particulate quite well, but I'd imagine combustion would gunk it up pretty swiftly.

I don't dump my ISO down the sink? I usually pour it into a dish for reclaim later. Because back when I did dabs it would get dirty quick and I wanted to save what I could.

OK, the DG is awesome for dabs. Took a pretty big (for me) one, felt a little apprehension as I saw all the thick white vapor coming my way but the hit was quite smooth with minimal coughing - I'm really glad I purchased a DG!

I want one of these dg's I just cant justify spending that much on a single chamber tube with minimal work they look like they stack alot but i wish they werent so much money

The magic isn't in the stacking. The diffusion takes place on the surface of the disc, where/when the bubbles are forming, combined with previous capillary action. The rest, stacking and breaking, is really just a cosmetic result. What you are paying for in the DG is a fritted disc that is designed to work under lung pressure. Thats the rub, and the diffusion it provides is unique.
