I'll drink any stout or porter

Part of my inspiration for the 'concept was working in the brewery with all the stainless equipment, stainless kegs, stainless boil vessels, mash tun etc. Stainless is very versatile, resilient and pretty. Some of the homebrew guys even polish their brew kegs.

Is there a polish or something you would recommend? I noticed when I rub some ISO on the outside of the Steel it really makes things shine. I was wondering if there was a good polish or something I could use to buff it up and really make it shine.

Hi guys,

I was going through inventory and found 5 older Steele Concept models. The only difference between the newer and older design is the newer one the polycarb tube sits 1" inside the metal and the old one it sits a 1/2" inch in.

Aside from this the units are the same. I'm about to have more units manufactured so i would like to get rid of these older models.

I'm letting these go locally and to you guys for $199.99 shipped. PM me if you are interested.

Yes it did bassplayer. I live half a mile from the post office, maybe less. I ship ASAP as I know what it's like waiting for a product you want to ship. I got a lot of experience from this ordering individual computer parts from Newegg when I was younger and waiting for them to arrive.

That's not to say I've gotten more patient, I just try to forget about whatever I ordered so it seems to arrive faster, hehe. Thats my best technique.

2-3 days ain't that bad though. USPS and FedEx FTW generally.

Newegg is the best for PC builds, I've done the Windows, OSX and Linux thing in the past. Nowadays I just prefer simplicity so I paid the mac tax and rock a 2011 Mac Mini. It is by far the best computer I have ever had. Instead of tinkering with a loud, clumsy homemade PC I have a small, sleek, quiet machine that does what I want.

In Mountain Lion Safari actually kicks ass. I use iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie and the iWork suite, occasionally I'll fire up Photoshop. Address book, Mail etc. is all synced via iCloud to my iPhone and iPad. For productivity I use the Mint app to glance at personal and business finances and the Base CRM app to see what's going on with my Steele Concept dealers. For fun my media is hosted remotely on a home server, so I load up iTunes for music or Plex (Absolutely amazing HTPC app) to watch movies. I use my iPhone as a remote to control Plex.

All in all it's the complete package. It would have been cool if it were $300 cheaper and included an SSD but shit, it's nice and it makes me happy having a tiny box that gets out of the way. Lol, I see I have typed a lot but I'm very passionate about technology.

In designing the Steele Concept a lot of inspiration was gleaned from postmodern architecture and industrial design with computers.

We have windows 7 machines and a 4 HDD Windows Home Server running Plex Server.

Win 7, OSX Mountain Lion and the new desktop linux Distros are all nice. It's 2012 and OS's have all matured nicely. It's not like we are running OS 9, Windows ME (HORRIBLE!) or shitty Redhat distro's anymore :)

That's what I don't get about people who are so adamant about one platform over another. They are all pretty decent these days, so fanboys generally need to STFU :)

I'd love to hear about what apps you use for OS X and media in general Frederick, feel free to PM me.

Now i'm back to the phones... Expanding to Michigan and Colorado this week!

Great to hear bass. As you can see I package the glass in bubble wrap within the polycarb tube for the best protection. I tell em there's glass and to stamp fragile but shipping is shipping.

I guess that's a benefit of having a heavy unbreakable pipe lol.

One of these days, I will get one... tape it off, paint (several times) and I will own a EVH Steele Concept Special!

BDV that would look epic! In the future I've considered gold plating, powder coating etc. For now I'm keeping it simple. In the meantime the sky is the limit with painting stainless though.

Steele I entered your joke contest without any real knowledge about your Indestructible Water Pipe. Finding out yesterday that I won prompted me to my homework. I have now read this entire thread, looked at the videos on youtube and gone to your site and I have to say I'm impressed. I am also super stoked about getting this baby and giving her a whirl.

I didn't realize that you were a brand new start up company and it looks like things are going pretty good for you. Man I wish you much continued success with your business venture.

So again, thanks for the contest and thanks for the kick ass prize! Good karma shall definitely follow you.

Peace.

hey Steele,

i don't remember if you've mentioned it in the past but, did you happen to get the shop 'Northern Lights' in Groton to carry your line? i've been kinda itching to go in the next month or so just to window shop and drool at some glass since i haven't stepped foot in a LHS in a while. it'd be nice to try out your piece and take a look at it in person if they do. though i'll have to admit, whenever i go to an LHS i don't bring anymore than $20 and leave my credit cards at home to prevent spur-of-the-moment purchases.

Unfortunately not. I have been to Groton Northern Lights several times and their main Enfield location. Groton isn't interested at all as they said they don't tend to sell much $300-$400 stuff, it just sits on the shelf. Northern Lights is a chain of 5 or so stores and they don't want to try the Concept because it is new and they don't know if it will sell.

So is the way business goes, some shops have more money than others or are more adventurous. Some are brave early adopters, some are more frugal and have a skeptical eye.

I don't let it get to me, it's just on to the next shop. People almost always are afraid of new stuff, examples included cars, computers, DVDs etc.

EDIT: But... Sergey's in East Lyme and Old Glory in Old Saybrook have them :)

that's too bad. they're definitely missing out because this is a truly quality unique piece. i've found them to carry products that mold to the general public but lack in high functioning glass. hopefully they'll change their minds in the near future about their decision.

but i didn't know of those shops at all. i'll definitely have to check them out sometime so i can take a peek at your product

This is a great design - makes a big difference when vaping at higher temps! I'm going to try something tonight - I'll put the Steele Concept in the freezer for a while to get it ice cold then after I put water and the steel ice in I'll wipe the mouthpiece with a warm washcloth or something, maybe that'll let me keep it in the freezer without having my face stick to it during use :)
