no it's just sitting in room temp :( i wonder how I can warm it up?? wish i had a bean bag hot pack :p i really appreciate the insight though man!

canada is just cold this time oh year :(

so i dug up my space heater :p lets see if i can make it come back again!

*no dice! :( DEAD... but still makes a neat looking red lamp... ;)

weedemon,
Sometimes when my cloud is too cold it will not start clicking right away. I just leave it on and eventually it starts clicking away. Could be the same issue. I would check that first before you send it back.

With mine (older one with flared bamboo and clicking) I've found that the light goes green maybe at temp but if I let it sit another 10 minutes I get much better performance (this is around 10-11 o'clock), certainly not a complaint, the vape is awesome

This is my experience as well. The light is green in 5-8 minutes, and I can hit it then, but I find it more satisfying to wait a little longer until the heat has permeated the housing and fully heated the joint. Then after a short prime hit I get a thick cloud, and the next is all that I can handle.

I've read almost all the posts in this forum since the forum was created. i didn't jump on the cloud because iw anted to wait to see some real world results. last week i decided to go for it, as you know if you read my recent posts. anyway, i noticed a lot of people in this forum with clouds on order or being replaced that seemed to act like spoiled little children wanting open christmas presents. im a gadget guy too and am always excited to get something that i order. but not like that. anyway, i am sitting here realizing i have refreshed the tracking info for my cloud about 3 times in the last minute as if there is going to be a status update in that period of time. also googled to get other people's experiences with how long express shipping takes from california to toronto. so i get it now. i hope it comes before the weekend. probably not though. i guess i will spend the rest of the day staring at the tracking info on usps hoping a new status item is added. lol

Hahahaha exactly. It's infectious. I can't wait to get my Cloud back as well. I know that refreshing tracking information does nothing, but when you see that bump change, or whatever, it's so exciting :-)

So since I've received my Cloud I've kept the temp dial around 1 o'clock position and it seems to produce great vapor, but I was wondering what some of the advantages & disadvantages of using a cooler (10-11 o'clock) temp and/or a warmer (2-3 o'clock) temp? I don't medicate much, so it would be hard to tell what the difference is for me if I medicate once today with temp @ 10 o'clock and once on Friday with temp @ 3 o'clock.

I wanted to chime in on this with what I know from other vapes. I'm sure others will chime in too.

Lower temperatures extract primarly THC so its going to be more of the head/cerebral high
Higher temperatures extract more CBD's producing more of a body/sedative high.

What JC said. Also, the lower temps taste a bit better. More flower taste, less peanut-shell taste. That said, the Cloud is the best-tasting vape at high temps I've ever used because the temp is so consistent (no "hot-spots"). It gives an even roast without blackening a small portion with a "hot-spot" like my VB and even my VHW used to do. My point is, experiment anywhere on the dial and the Cloud will take care of you. On my other vapes there was a tiny portion of the temp dial that was "optimal" and a specific draw strength that was "optimal" to get the best vapor. With the Cloud, anywhere from 10-3 is lovely (and beyond if you have a bigger tube with some more diffusion). Go for it!

Nice! I've wondered why I haven't had as much body effects with lower temp settings, now I know - thanks! Time for me to turn up the temp a bit...

I purchased my first cloud a few months back. I asked for the showerdome but got the tree perc. I also bought the hydraline. I also didn't get the extra elbs. i still loved the cloud and used it daily. A couple weeks went by and my gf broke the ground prong on the cord. So I emailed and submitted a ticket to get it fixed. Bryan told me he wasn't sure about the repair process and would get back to me. i decided to buy a replacement in case something like this happens again. So I purchased another cloud with the double swagger tube. A few days later I got a box with only elbs in it. I waited a few more days and still no cloud so I called. Bryan said they didn't ship it out for some reason so they overnight shipped the cloud and swagger tube. I was using my new cloud last night and it popped and stopped working. I submitted another support ticket. Now I have 2 broken clouds and am still waiting on how to get them fixed. p:bang:

That's not a manufacturer defect and they're not liable for the repair/replacement. You are. Your girlfriend broke it. I don't know about your 2nd unit, but the power cord on the 1st one is easily fixed by cutting off the whole plug and putting another one on. If you're not comfortable doing it, there are plenty of people that would be. The ground prong isn't even necessary for operation. It's just a safety feature to protect against electrical shock in case a wire comes loose.

My cloud took a tumble last night. Eeeek! Lol was freaking Out i bent down so quick to try an catch it that i hit my head on my dresser. Thought I had a concussion. Lol but anyways no damage at all probably fell about a foot and a half. So pretty lucky it didn't fall directly the joint.

Actually i asked them if i could use it without the ground prong and they said if water gets in it it could lead to my death. They already told me they would repair it at cost they just never told me where or how to send it in. Thanks though.

I would have panicked!

Not sure if anyone remembers this, but quite a while back, a member of VXL (IIRC) dropped a Cloud, or somehow a Cloud got knocked over, and because it had been on so long, and the glass was so heat-soaked, the male GONG joint bent, instead of breaking! This Cloud continued to power on, regardless of the fall. Check out this, and other videos posted by SM55, of the Cloud with the bent GONG joint.

Just another testament to the strength of the Cloud. Obviously, as with any glass/expensive electronics, be careful.

^^hahah that's so funny but awesome that it still works!

Anybody use dab wax in the cloud yet, debating whether I need a recycler or not.

Thx

"Dabbing" with the Cloud was surprisingly effective and tasty, but just not the same as dabbing on titanium with a small rig like the recycler. Everyone needs a tiny rig. I don't think anyone "needs" a recycler, but if you want one, go for it! If you don't already have a small rig, I would start with something less expensive with minimal diffusion like a 3 hole downstem.

You would be silly to judge the reliability of the Cloud on the issues reported in this forum. Your sample is both too small and heavily biased.

:\ . o O { I am so turning that into a macro... }

Also people remember. When someone has an issue they are more than likely to talk about there problem. When someone doesn't have a problem they just sit home and enjoy. So the only reason you are seeing more and more people is because VXH has been going to shows and I'm sure spreading the FC word. So when they have a problem they come on here to talk about it. Although the people that didn't frequent the forums before just sit home and enjoy. I'm sure the percentage of bad units isn't that high, we just see most like ALL of them on here lol.
