Try it, it's easy enough. For those of you who can see the 'orange' (it not really orange, it's red and green at the same time.....) restart it right then. You can't restart on green.

i didn't know you could restart on orange... hmmmm... i will have to try it. thanks everyone

Are you shaking it between hits? I find that part is important too. Get everything inside warmed up, then keep fresh material against the walls.

Don't let it cool back down, after the 15 second green window closes, push it again. You get a short (few seconds typically) heat cycle and another 15 second hit. Take it if you're ready, or wait until it times out, start it again, then hit it. I keep the load loose and shaken between hits.

Harder on the battery life, but the vaping is much better IMO. The trick is by storing heat all you need to do is heat the small amount of the load near the wall a few degrees, after that added energy makes vapor not stuff hotter.

yeah i just have been holding it down after i hit it, look back an see if its green. I mean this guy has got me coughing sometimes. And yes it's a dream in a dorm, i've vaped and roommates cant tell 3 mins later when they come in. I can do it anywhere on campus pretty much.

And no i don't shake it, i feel like thatd fuck it up, but i stir it up, and then pack it back down. Having a tightly packed bowl is a huge difference maker too. hit it a couple times, stir, pack it down, repeat.

Gentle Friends,

After too much thinking I think I've solved my color blind issues with this in a useful way (at least I can now take advantage of the features).

I drilled a small (5/64 actually, size not important) hole in the top of the mouthpiece section near the back, just barely covered by the sleeve. Right over the green LED inside. I then cut a strip of one inch 'Gorilla Tape' (kind of a thick, heavy duty duct tape) about 5/16 wide and slipped it edgewise between the LEDs and stuck the ends to the inside of the right wall (isolating the LED and my hole). Now no green light makes it to the tube and therefore the vapor port and no red shows in the little hole in the top.

When I push the button all is normal until the pot is hot, then the port goes dark and my little hole in the top lights up (quite brightly it turns out, easy to see even in bright light). 15 seconds later the red LED comes back on (what is seen as orange by most), the green LED stays on five seconds or so longer then goes out. Light out the top means 'ready to hit' now. Flashing light in the port means heating, otherwise it means 'you can push the button now and start a cycle if you wish'. No need for colors, no confusion.

Likewise, the 'battery level function', with it's faults, I can now use.

I also used my trusty meter to try to sort out what goes on with the heater. The circuit delivers 'full power' to heat the pot when the cycle starts (flashing red). Once it reaches preset (and the LEDs shift to green) the circuit uses 'duty cycle' to hold temperature (on and off cycles every few seconds) as needed until the red comes back on (making orange). At that point, power is cut, even though the green is still lit. The orange phase is really contrived, electrically it's the same as solid red. There's just enough heat stored to do some vaporizing.

So now you know as much as me.

OF,
Has anyone seen these in smoke shops? I unfortunately do not have a credit card :I
Also I think $125 is fair, its the lowest price you can get it at.

My head shop isn't big on vapes, but they will order and sell you one usually. All you have to do is call up your local shop and ask :-)

Fellow Puffiteers,

I hope the weekend is going well for you. Mine comes complete with a fun little gadget I think goes well with Puffit:
http://www.all-battery.com/Tenergy2600mAhPortablePowerBank5color-51034.aspx

It's a bit smaller than the Puffit, you charge it up from the same USB type port (using the different cable supplied). After doing so it has a USB connector on the back side that will charge the Puffit at least twice. Nice little LEDs give the charge status in steps. IMO a handy gadget to have for twenty bucks. Granted that's 4 or 5 bowls of top shelf bud, but it's also freedom from battery charge problems when out. Your unit can quietly recharge in your pocket if need be.

I've got mine charging my Puffit right now. Of course I had to use the Puffit some throughout the day to discharge the battery for this test, I'm not complaining, but I hope you appreciate the sacrifices I'm willing to make on your behalf?

Too bad it uses the micro not mini USB port that means we need two cables, or maybe one with an adapter..... And a wall powered USB supply, and a 12 lighter one for charging in the car. All in a small camera case like my favorite:
http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-TB...id=1349581983&sr=8-1&keywords=302+camera+case

I'm starting to feel like James Bond. Or maybe "Q" would be more accurate?

Anyway, I submit it for your consideration.

Aw, so it turns out your just a big old sensitive guy? More in touch with your emotions than your photograph would indicate. Who knew?

BTW, ever notice how our ex Governor tries to look like you? Must be scary to have a stalker like that......

So, long as you're moved and all (and in the spirit of the Election Giving Season), perhaps you'd like support the effort to protect our way of life? I'm not as well set up as Mit or Barry, but if you PM me I'll tell you where to send your money.....

Oh yes OF that was a huge sacrifice that must have been so hard to do:D Wouldn't that gogo(I think that is what it was called) thing or other portable charges do the same thing or are they different?

I don't know that unit, but I have a couple of others (including a neat one with a solar panel....). Sure they work, but I found this one to be a great size match for convenient carry, has sufficient capacity for most needs and a very attractive price. 3 important factors, typically all trade offs, that seem to fit our needs well.....which is, of course, why I mentioned it.

They got my money, not always an easy thing to do.

Thanks for explaining. I think it is cute and small as well. It is also in a good price range.

Hi all! I've been reading this thread over the past few days.. took the better part of the week, but I made it through 72 pages. After reading through this and many other sites and reviews, I think I will be ordering the PuffIt within the next week. The fact that the blue unit is available now was too tempting to resist. I have a VaporBrothers box unit I use for at-home vaping, but now I'm looking for a replacement to my VG that doesn't need a lighter, and the price is better than any other portable vape I've looked at (besides the MFLB but I don't like the design of it and it sounds a bit too tedious to use). So just wanted to pop in and say thanks for all the info. I will update if/when I do decide to order.

even with a power adapter, i'm not sure if i'd want the mflb from what i've heard about it combusting the material.
solo is a bit larger than what i am looking for, and the cheapest i can find it is $180 which is a bit more than i was looking to pay.

You can get it for 140. Price match. If you want clouds or no clouds the solo provides.
I've had the mflb combust once. Most vapes that give the user the most control CAN combust; usually doesnt.
I thought I'd be ehhh about the mflb but wanted a hitter like vape.

I bought another in a week, so id never be without.

Some are happy with the puffit, many are not so much.
I dislike it.
I'm just coming back to the forums now so im posting carefully but if i could easily convince you not to purchase I would in a heartbeat.

The shape of the solo doesn't seem right in my hands.. although I may continue doing research, as now the DaVinci sounds appealing as well.

I would also check out the Pax by Ploom.

It is the same price as the Davinci.

I had both and i love the Pax way more. :2c:

Well actually the DaVinci can be had for about ~140 if you know where to look so it's a little more attractive an option to those who want something in the PuffIt's price range.

But I agree, if you are willing to step up to about ~250 dollars for your purchase the Pax by Ploom and Inhalater are two vaporizers which are pocket size and provide incredible vapor quality

this exactly. so it seems for under $150, my options are the solo, davinci, and puffit. (and the MFLB with power adapter)... I will continue my research. I also like the small size of the davinci, although it's not the most attractive vape in the world.

My Pax has become the only unit I use.. For several reason but the main reason is I am lazy and the Pax is just so Damn easy to use for my situations... And see my Sig.. I have several different good Portables.. Once I get my Hi, I will be set.. Pax Plus the Hi = I will probably sell all my others ones.. (I do really like my Solo and T1 so those 2 will be hard to part with but I have just not used them much lately)

If only the Pax was maybe $200 rather than $250... it really is lovely, and the amethyst color is to die for. After all the research, I'm still leaning towards the PuffIt. This chart helped me since I have tiny hands and wanted a vape I could easily carry in my purse.
