The G Pen by Grenco Science

Wow I'm dealing with Grenco right now online. It's literally hell. 'Kajal' who I always get is clueless. At least they seem to have a 'whatever' attitude about everything.

I'm running my last nerves with this company. My G pen actually won't take a charge as of yesterday and I didn't use it that much. Not sure if it's the charger though.

They have held payments on 2 separate orders for the G tank TI nail edition and haven't sent it yet. Ordered on the 16th.

I shouldn't even be paying for this freaking thing man my video on G Pen has over 22k views, this is madness.

Not to mention they have this 'OG tank made from glass w a wick' that I got from Daddy's Pipes in LA here. Cool shop btw. It doesn't advertise it on their website so I'm asking Kajal about it and of course he thinks it's up on the site and i'm telling them it's not. He's telling me it fits with the G domes, I'm tellin him, Mine doesn't. Great conversation. Kajal's got me hanging right now. I'm still waiting on answers. My guess they are up to their necks in bad news and trying to make orders. Well, the good new is, my glass OG tank is cracking where it connects to the metal. Video coming soon.

He says my order is out and I should be getting an email with tracking in 24hrs. Why do I not believe him? Again they just left me hanging in the chat window. they did this last time and that's why i have 2 hold on my cc now.

I'm glad people have opened my eyes to more solid cleaner builds like Thermovape. I have always been headed in that direction but I'll delve into all units taken seriously.

What a trip.

Sure that's fine. we will send you a DART in place of the Revolution. Just to let you know, it will be built with an AVA body, so it will say "AVA" on the outside instead of "Revolution."
So i hope it works.

I'm a little confused. Sorry.

Hey, it's not you (alone), I can't make that page work for me half the time, either. But the fall back (order the Revolution in the voltage of your choice then ask them to substitute the DART configuration) works fine. Even when they're out of stock, they usually can make you up one fairly quickly. At one point they were using a body tube marked AVA (their e-cig line) since they had no more 'correctly marked' bodies, but I think that's probably fixed by now. Same price for the other version.

One other option, you can also buy the DART loader top for the Revolution (and therefore get both loading methods). Useful if you sometimes get bubble, kief or solid hash (which is easier to stir through the window):
http://thermovape.com/collections/all/products/theremovape-revolution-dart-loader

Anyway, contact them, I'm sure they'll be happy to take your money.

In the mean time, stash some tasty oil and keep repeating 'load small and often'......

Good luck and enjoy it.

You think the ego will suffice for the flower tank as well?

Sorry, you lost me. What 'flower tank' we talking about?

Wow, I'm seriously lost here. How have I managed to confuse you????

What is it you wanted to know?

TIA

Thanks for the update, that's what I recalled. Something about being out of the DART marked tubes. The AVA one is the same except the marking I think.

Is this what all the confusion is?

After all that waiting. Well, maybe it needs some burn time :\

Did a review on this thing if you want to see my thoughts on it click the link.

Other than that i'm looking to brighter horizons

Bummer, but good of you to report back and hopefully save others from having to try it as well? It may work for some, but it sounds to me like DART or Omicron carts on the G Pen supply is a better call.

Thanks for the update.

Np man it's my pleasure :)

I wonder how hard the darts hit & does anyone have a timeline when they are getting more in?

Cutty, Thanks for the fully detailed and honest review. I have been x'ing my fingers that Grenco was going to come through with an awesome addition to make the gpen stand out but obviously this isnt going to happen. I ordered my Glass tank on the 13th...and as of yesterday had not seen it in my mailbox. I called Grenco and found out that they cancelled my order due to back order and never told me. I think they have the same people testing gpens as they do running the customer service dept. They are too high to deal with people. Mia has always been helpful but finding out they cancelled and didnt inform me was pretty awful.

Then there is the issue of mis-advertising. In the pictures of the glass tank that were sent out to everyone, its clear that the top of the nail is solid like a typical Ti nail.

I guess this picture was a prototype.... It is what i was expecting.

My glass tank is supposely on the way. I can only hope it actually works when it arrives but based on the video it looks sketchy. Please let us know if any of your other attempts at vapor prove sucessful. Untill then, OG tank.

I know of only one sure way to find out how hard they hit...... IMO DART is plenty for most every taste.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'getting more in'. It's my understanding that some vendors have DARTS in stock, but the tube piece is out of stock and TV is making up units on request using the same part from the similar e-cig (it says "AVA" instead of "Revolution"), contact Tim and the guys and ask:

The dart is a godsend. The og erll around right now flows like water through it <3 T1 conversion kit with hr dart, they have many other voltage versions for whatever your needs may be. Also check out their rev-dart in the beta section, windowed rev with the dart dabber on top =)

The dart is a godsend.

Actually it's Tim and the guys that send it out. USPS helps too.

Tim is not really (a) god, although I guess some might make that mistake?

It is a neat gadget for sure. Very solid design, top materials, excellent construction and support. Recommended.

Np problem guys, and thanks for the feedback!!

Yea g pen customer service has been well, almost sad. I kind of feel sorry for them.

I'm definitely hunting down that ThermoVape and will check the link out. Kind of excited.

How hard does it hit in comparison to a Dab off the nail? I'm sure nothing beats it but close?

And if anybody knows and dealers here in Los Angeles I am all ears....

I finally got my glass Gtank. Here's a review

Pros:
Well built (compared to OG tank)

Cons:
1/4 battery life of OG tank
Gets almost too hot to use after 1 session
Mouthpiece becomes storage tank for oil not burned
Expensive
Vapor quality & production is same or less than OG tank

This is my 2cents after using the tank for a week. I don't dislike it but I don't consider it to be an improvement (other than building materials) from the original tank. It gets the job done, but I wouldn't put much more than a few dabs worth in at a time in fear of loosing the oil somehow.

The G-pen works but I'm worried about the health effects of the wick. I got my G-pen at a local shop and paid 25 dollars more than the internet to avoid dealing with sending parts back to grenco and I thought paying the extra money was worth it just incase it was garbage. Well, my battery died and my cartridge did too. first it was the battery and after almost 2 weeks the shop just gave me a battery out of a new kit. Then the cart died so I got online and did the chat with with a rep. I was told I'd recieve one in a few days and it would be the OG tank but with the updated glass sleeve. After almost 3 weeks and 2 complaints later I recieved a plastic cartridge. I complained again and they apologized and said they would send me a glass one. I waited and after a week I called and they are now out of the glass OG tanks... They aren't ever straight with you and they just lie. If they were just honest with me and explained their issues I'd be more understanding since it does work and I did like it. Now I am going to buy a thermovape DART and not look back.

How I made the G-Pen better Modnote: Merged into G Pen thread.

I started to question if the wicks were safe and I am currently eyeing the thermpvape DART. In the mean time I dreaded using the G-Pen again but all I have is wax... SO, I decided to modify it and if it didn't work fuck it. here's what I did:
I cut the wicks off. Don't try to ISO clean them to reclaim the wicks fall apart in little strands...
use a tack pin for a cork board and try to carefully move the heating element wrapped around the wick that's left. I just pushed the individual windings until it looked looser.
Burn the shit out of it. I just kept getting what was left of the wick hot and it turned to carbon but it will still be stuck.
try to put the pen with a little amount of force in the end of the wick pushing the pen thru the windings. i used the pin to scratch at the carbon unti it came off.
soak the tip with the wick in ISO and move it around. you will see the wick start to come apart.
Be gentile and it will come out with time. Just keep soaking the wick, drying the wick, scraping at the wick ends and on the coils, and burning it. Repeat these steps over and over again while trying to stay patient and you will succeed at getting it out.

Now, here's what I did to make it better:
All I did was get an old broken glass pipe and hit it with a hammer inside a ziplock, inside a rag.
Then I found a super small, flat, piece of glass to cover the hole in the cart.
Next, I gently pushed the coils down onto the piece of glass with the pointed part of the bamboo skewer. Be careful and push from the middle of the coils and push a single coil down at a time. after you get them touching the glass you can use the flat round end of the bamboo skewer to smash the coils against the glass. BE CAREFUL!! DON'T USE A LOT OF FORCE!!

To get hits:
You fill the ceramic bowl up with wax or oil
hold it upright and start sucking. it might be clogged for a sec but keep sucking.
once you get airflow hold it horizontal and start spinning the G-Pen in your hand... the mouthpiece is obviously not round but it works.
I produced huge clouds of vapor that taste way different than anything I have ever tasted from a G-Pen.

Hope this helps G-Pen users that are worried about the wicks...

Interesting experiments. I hope they are productive. As a thought such 'man handling' of the element wire is best done before it's heated the first time. It's annealed in manufacture to make it easy to work, but the first time they heat up the alloys most often used for such things get harder and more brittle when they cool again.

Good luck.

it worked perfect and is still working hours later. Funny thing is I didn't cheack my mail and my new G-tank was in the mailbox... After an extensive bitch session Grenco made me on offer I couldn't refuse and surprise a new G-Tank in my mailbox. I'm going to give this thing a week and give you guys my thoughts then.

And a big thanks to Tim at Grenco!
