How to handle the inevitable dry spells

Well, I ran out of the green stuff a few days ago and try as I may, I'm just not interested in cleaning out my system right now! It's gonna be a month before I get any more fresh herb.

So the first thing I did was give some of my 2oz of brown, vaped herb to my smoker buddy to see if ti had any potency left. The response was positive, so I put about half of it in a batch of brownies. Everyone got fucked up on them but me! I was poppin' them like they were going out of style with no luck.

Finally, I said 'fuck sobriety' (is that a website?) and broke out the old bubbler and smoked a few bowls. I got rocked! But the next morning I had a bad case of ass-mouth that I have only experienced from cigar smoking. This brown shit has no taste but bad...I miss the taste of my herb, and vaproizing for half a year has spoiled me rotten.

After smoking for about three nights, with one night off in the middle 'cause I hated the smoking and the ensuing hacking and flem, I had to quit. It just plain sucks! So I broke out my mortar and pedestal and took a small amount of brown stuff and grinded it into dust. I put this in my VaporGenie and was able to get some good vapor hits! This is now my final solution and what I will continue to do until I get some herb next month. Wish me luck, as I'm sure to run out eventually!

What have you guys done with success when the supply is running out or is gone?

I feel for ya buddy. It almost happened to me last month. We were down to less than a day's supply when that wonderful call hit my answering machine. I've got bags and bags of vaped herb, and I'm sure I would have started putting it back through the herbalAire to drain the dregs. I hope I'm never out long enough to be tempted to smoke it. Don't think my lungs could take it. That's why I took to vapor in the first place. I also have some vapor residue in a little glass bowl that I reclaimed with alcohol. I probably could have used that for a day or so.

This will be me in about 6-8 weeks. And like you slickstones I will be reaching for the vapped weed for comfort. Im curious why you didn't try re-vapping with the extreme just on a slightly higher temp?

I'm one of those guys that vapes the shit out of it before I put it away. By the time I am done with it I have usually blown four bags or hit it with the whip about five or six times, increasing the temp as I go, so increased temps is no longer an option. The mortar and pedestal thing did work, though. I'm gonna spend some time tonight grinding the shit out of my leftovers so it is good and ready.

The taste of smoking that stuff was awful! :uhoh:

LOLLLLL DAMNNN are you all in USA ?? here in quebec everybody have green stuff LOLL I never wait more than a day .....I feel really bad for you stick ...I think I did'nt stay more than a week without smoking/vaping during the five last year ....dont know what you'll do LOL stay away from any rope/gun/knife LOLLL

We can get some decent dry spells around Christmas and during summer. I don't mind going without for a while. The thought of it is not pleasant when your flush, but if its not in the house I dont fret about it.

There always the legals if you cant get MJ. Spice Gold etc work very well.

Spice Gold (SG) - very similair in texture to a medium ground MJ. The effects are also very similair to MJ. You get a sativa headhigh which lasts for an hour or so and then it moves into an indica like body stone and it lasts for a long time. And yes you can vap it no problem but it does have a strong taste on vanilla which I dont like.

The downside is you build up a tolerance to SG quite quickly and the overall stone lacks the euphoria you get from MJ and the hangover/mong the next day can be a off over powering. But it is by far and away the closest to MJ in a legal form. It is an extract of a bunch of legal herbs but does not contain Salvia (thankfully). There is a Spice Diamond available now which is suppose to twice the strength of Spice Gold. There is also the original Spice (Spice Silver) which I have never tried as its weaker than SG. I went straight for the gold.

Quite a few copy cat herbs now, Chillin XXX, Sense, Galaxy Blends (Red Planet, Blastoff etc) all which seem to work. I have tried sense and it got me stoned but didn't vap as well as SG.

Their site had a forum that had reviews of all the mixes (all reviews were pretty good, which made me skeptical) and there was even some discussion about vaping it, but nothing definitive.

So first off, does it vape well at the same temps, or do you need to adjust it down or up?

Secondly, of all the mixes you have tried, which would you recommend? Assuming they are all the same price (which, btw, was the same as street prices for MJ here -- $50 for an eighth), would you go with the diamond given how strong it is?

I believe it needs a slightly higher temp. Because SG is basically a base herb sprayed heavily with extracts it takes a higher temp than MJ to vaporise the extracts. I found a slower than normal draw created vapor that got me as wacked as bonging it. You don't get big fat vapor hits though but my vape at the time wasn't one that you got turn up and combust MJ so the extreme prolly has a high enough temp to get some good SG hits.

I have only tried Spice Gold and Sense ... and Spice Gold was much better IMO. I would go with the Spice Diamond or at least Spice Gold. Just word of warning ... if you have been MJ sober for a while don't have too much in your first sitting. I took 4 one-hit bongs my first time and it sat me on my arse! I didn't spin out but was has severe couch lock after about 90 minutes. I found I enjoyed it more after a few different sessions as I got miore use to effect ... which although very MJ like has its own subtleties.

I think it was Galaxy Forum, but I can't find it now. spiceworld420 was in my favorites, and I thought there was a link between the two, but I don't see it.

I think I'm going to give it a go. Do you know anything about spiceworld420? I don't know of their reputation.

I am little worried about the hangover you are talking about. I've gotten to the point where mj doesn't ruin me the next day like a noob, but I better try this stuff on a Friday night first just to be sure...don't wanna go to work like a zombie. How bad was it for you the next day?

Currently I have in my cart 1g of spice diamond and 400mg of spike99 strawberry for a total of $35 and free shipping. I figure this is cheap enough to give them a try, and the thought of a strawberry taste coming out of my extreme has me intrigued.

That's funny you probably started all the threads about vaporizing. As I recall (and I don't remember when it was, just some time this year) there weren't many responses to how well it vapes, which would make sense given how underground vaping mj is right now.

Another thing...I tried some Hawaiian Gold Bud a couple years back that was $50 for an eighth and it was useless.

I can get by pretty normally without greens, marijuana isn't physically addicting after all. Still, I always keep a private reserve.

That's too bad, how many brownies did you make with 1 ounce? How much did you eat / how's your metabolism?

Crushing your vaped bud into dust is an idea, but wouldn't a lot of it be getting through the screen? Doesn't sound too appealing especially with a small vape like the vaporgenie. :/

We made one batch, pan, or whatever you want to call it. I ate anywhere between 2 and 5 squares at diffrerent times with minimal effect.

Surprisingly, not much gets through. I'll admit, a little bit gets through sometimes. I haven't tried it in the Extreme yet...that's next. The dust is proving to be a nice vehicle for my buildup of kif, though! Next I gotta get my honey together!

This thread reminds me of the old Furry Freak Brothers saying:

It hasn't happened to me in a few years, but like vapor_cloud said, it sometimes happens around christmas/summer. Usually I go into ration mode with my herb and only smoke once a day until I get some more, or if I have already run out, then I just play the waiting game.

I've never tried the 'legal highs' because there are so many more ethnobotanicals out there to try first.

Try Nymphaea nouchali v. caerulea (Blue Lotus Flower) tea. I have a mate who swears by it when he's out of smoke. It is legal to procure and produces a euphoric high. Here is a link to Erowiddescribing the experience.

There's lots more things out there to try if you don't want to wait... just do some research , otherwise just enjoy your straight time and look forward to getting high as fuck when you do get some.

Slickstones ... Spiceworld420 are one. Jim has a good reputation. Yeah the Galaxy forum has changed to a different domain ... I dont have it on this computer. I think the diamond has less of a mong than gold (spice) but we cant get Spice Diamond here in NZ yet. When I have no MJ and it cant be got ... I usually get a 3g bag of SG on Friday and that gets me thru the weekend then I have a straight week followed by another stony weekend etc. Works well before the outdoor season kicks in here 'round April.

Inevitable dry spells ? I've been lucky I guess , never experienced one really. Maybe working in clubs helped because you know such I diverse range of people , not sure . But I'm sure that it's an experience I hope never to have ! :rolleyes:

The dry spells here are from around December >>> April but its not so much dry just gets expensive as supply dwindles. I hate buying $20 tinnies with no more than a gram of herb. Its just a tease. I always stock upfor winter in April.

Thats pretty common IMO. MJ definitly helps me sleep deeply and without it my nights can be spend trying to get to or back to sleep. Of course then when I do score I get that fucked up I can't sleep the first night coz I'm too high :brow:
