So you could say Im now fully MFLB accesorized... Started out with the PA about 2.5 weeks ago and now I have the bong adapter and nano grinder. The new waterpipe adapter they sent me is a new beta version that isn't released yet. It's like a whip that plugs into your bong downstem and the other part into ur mflb. Its pretty sweet, especially with the PA. I can take huge rips and now cough... Maybe ill make a vid of that :)

I was looking into the Ed's TNT stems. I have the koa and was wondering how the cocobolo and purpleheart is?
anyone have any experience with those 2? I love the koa

Has anyone combined any non-psychoactive herbs with the "good stuff" in their MFLB? I just ordered my walnut finishing grinder and decided to add some "Feelin' Fine Herbal Blend" to the order.

I have some peppermint and lemon balm in my garden, and had always wanted to try them in the box, but just never got around to it.

Blending the two might be a problem. The 'magic temperatures' of each being different they'd get separated in the process, much like crude oil in refinement.....

All the time, I mix mint lemon balm damiana and even the feelin fine blend with my meds.Feelin fine is perfect for taking the edge off things too when on a work enforced tolerance break.Ive had good results damiana the primary herb in feelin fine is an uplifting herb and definitely adds something. One thing after a week or so of using it you will begin to have very lucid dreams, very lifelike and nice dreams.no weirdness like i sometimes experience with my meds.just my experience with it.

I actually plan on travelling across the US in two weeks time with feelin fine blend and my launch box.can t wait to meet the TSA.I ve heard so much about them.:)

as for garden herbs I grow many pick them, remove stems, dry and buy a coffee grinder to blitz so its suitable for the launch box.oh and the blends from MF are pretty woody so again a coffee grinder is your e friend.

I was looking into the Ed's TNT stems. I have the koa and was wondering how the cocobolo and purpleheart is?
I have quite a few of eds stems.cocobolo is one of my favourites, very dense glass like wood, finishes beautifully and adds subtle nutty flavour to vapor.Mine came all black and suits my koa and my maple boxes fine.I use it all the time pretty much.it has a glossy smooth hard texture to it.feels nice in youre mouth too.Its is a very commonly used wood for tobacco pipes anyway so its a go.
I have a purple heart too but hmmm... Im just not a purple heart fan,sorry.. not as dense and a lighter wood weightwise, pinkish hues.Just not a fan. so maybe not the best person to ask.best of luck though. You can t go wrong with ED.hes the Bomb

I was afraid of that.....I'm not a big photo kinda guy usually, but fair request. It may take me a day or two to sort it all out, if I space it out, please PM and remind me?

Of
Fascinating stuff with the battery mod.I found a circular battery holder that holds 3 18650 batteries in a triangle arrangement with wiring included which would fit inside a wood tube to use with both the Hi and the launch box PA.my log heats in 5 minutes and runs at 7w.How much time are you getting out of that three pack fully charged if you d ont mind me asking?.

Pretty cool if it works with my Pa too.

means I can go deep into bush with not much weight and have a vape with all the critters.:)

Other news.pretty moon out tonight, stoking a fire and kickin back.there are 300 motorcyle gang members in my town tonight on a meet.you ll understand why i m kickin back at home:uhoh:

So I am in the shop working wood yesterday morning when the UPS guy pulls up with a unexpected pkg for me. I knew it was coming but not sure when. So I got two new badass special wood LB Kits, new wooden grinder and blk nano grinder. I really dig the walnut LB, the Cherry is the shit also but walnut is my favorite next to my limited Koa LB. I was surprised at the size of the wooden grinder but was amazed at how well it performs and fits right in the top of the LB. I already have decked out with matching wooden vapor stems and have been really showing them off. Thanks MF for getting these to me and for the cooperation in the past!

I was working with Tom and Pammy and the PD at the time. The goal was 3 hours, with 2400 mAh batteries we made it just past that. It dropped quickly shortly after that, until the first battery went into protect mode. This was at 8 Watts.

Higher capacity batteries would run longer of course.

It works the PA just fine if you're careful about polarity (log vapes don't care). The original one, which they still have, is 'backwards' and won't drive a PA but they don't have one......

That's true. I'm mostly interested in the flavor/fragrance of the mints, so hopefully that element of the herbs is released at low temperatures. Will report back.

Cool. It's been a while since I looked at the chart, but I recall 'the other stuff' being cooler than THC. Which makes sense, the vapor pressure (usually associated to boiling point) is obviously high enough to smell at room temperatures (like some of the inactive terpines of our favorite herb where 'the good stuff' doesn't evaporate off over time).

OF,
Hey everybody, had to come post and let you guys know that I picked up my first "large" amount of herb yesterday. I know it's not much for a lot of you, but I picked up a quarter (1/4th oz) of some pretty decent bud around here, and it was my third time ever buying, so it seems like a lot to me. I had to pay $90 USD for it but I'm very excited to try it. It's actually very well manicured IMO and is cured pretty nicely, but I put it in a glass jar and will be burping it once a day for a few months before vaping it so that it's fully prepared and tastes its best. The Launch Box really lets me enjoy this wonderful herb and luckily with the minimal amount of herb used by vaping, this will last me a good four months with my vaping habits, maybe a little less if I smoke my friends up a lot. I still have never combusted, and am proud to say it. Best wishes everybody, hope you're having a wonderful weekend and hope everybody is pain free and in good health. This plant is so beneficial to so many people, it blows my mind how it's not legal in the US yet. Best wishes everybody, enjoy your day! Cheers! :):tup:

Edit: I would've posted a picture but this thread doesn't seem like the right place, and being new, I am still very nervous to be posting about illegal activity online, especially buying illegal drugs in what may be considered legally dangerous quantities (I know it's not a lot for most of you, but it really seems like a big deal to me still). Anyway, I hope you'll all take my word for it that it's not half bad stuff, very vibrantly colored and smells very fruity and uplifting, but not as skunky as I had expected. Cheers everybody! For med quality, that's not a bad price. Top Shelf around here, runs about that. 1/4 is a nice quantity, especially if you're not vaping constantly. Don't worry about curing it that long. Honestly, it should be ready in a couple weeks, at most, even if you're just burping. Shouldn't take months. Heck, just take out what you want to vape and let it sit for an hour or so. Or at least until you get a little crunch to it, when you squeeze (though, I like it drier than that for the Box).

Once again BDV is hitting all the corners after hitting another one out of the park. The new guys should draw near and grow wise (once again).

Price seems good for good bud, advice on curing is spot on (especially the 'dry is good for the box' part), but no need to obsess over curing. Enjoy it.

For future reference, BDV can do things with MFLB and waterpipes that will amaze mortals.....and inspire envy amongst 'the glass guys'. He can also dance like Ginger Rodgers, but that a topic for another time.

Anyway, HM, congrats. And scary as it might sound you can trust BDV, he has a white hat.

Although most feel he looks better in a tiara......

Relax, friend, I browse/help with a site that partly deals with the whole spectrum of drugs, both illegal and legal. The users don't have qualms about showing off and, honestly, unless you are a dealer the FBI won't waste their time tracking you down. They don't care so much about the guy eating the fish as they do the guy that pays the dockworkers off to look the other way while he unloads his "fish."

On another more related note... anyone figure out how to work the oil on here? I managed to vape a few blobs of my ABV ISO oil, and about an hour ago I got the real deal! .5g of Skywalker OG amber oil in a syringe. I figure out ONE way to vape the oil, but it requires a rolling paper and a pen. Basically, I cut out one square and fold it such that it naturally takes the shape of the trench. Then, use another paper and wrap it around the flat end of the pen to form a paper "cup." That's where I was dropping my bits of frozen oil chips into. Set the cup in the middle of the paper, hold the battery in for a bit, and take your light hits. It works way better with the whip so that you can actually see through the top and see how the oil is going.

I understand the perspective (at least I think I do), and therefore the advice, I'm not sure it's all that well founded. Meaning there's another way to look at it perhaps?

This here internet is forever. And it's not anywhere near as 'safe' as I think some assume. Even today. Nor is it stable, 'the other side' is growing in capacity and capability all the time. It's widely held that much of the world's communications is automatically scanned for key words, something that was pure fantasy very few years ago. In a millisecond or two a computer of the near future could easily link your ID (say on an employment application?) to this 'secret' account and deliver most everything you say....or have said in the past.

Ever notice how 'important suspects' web browsing and cell phone information is showing up more and more often in court? That stuff was 'put together' in response to a request from 'da man'. After the fact.

Right now, I think nobody doubts 'the FBI' could do it if they wanted to allot the resources. Some day those resources are likely to be trivial. Much like a modern search engine can do in a fraction of a second what trained researchers in the best libraries were unable to do before Al Gore invented the internet. How many of us have been called on our unlisted phone numbers (billing in other names) because some computer linked us up? I had it happen not long ago, an insurance company found me with a very small retirement account from a part time job a long time ago when I had a different (unlisted) number at a different address (which is why the mail failed). They used some confidential data base that somehow linked my SSN to the phone number (no, I've no idea how, very very few have the number......none of them narks or feds AFAIK). Our ability to remain anonymous is shrinking under our feet, who knows what the future will bring? Surely, not more protection and secrecy.

Who knows what data bases of the future will be able to link what to what. And as the raw data is stored, it could all be done retroactively from the future.

I have a tough time advising someone concerned about the future 'don't worry about it' in anything like an authoritative way. My judgement could well be off, I'd hate for some poor sod to suffer just because he trusted it. Folks should do what they're comfortable with.

Wish I could, Bro. I fiddled with it early on (no surprise there.....) but I had no more luck than anyone else. My ABV experiment got away and I ended up with oil burned in one corner of one of my boxes.

Vitolo's cotton ball technique is the only one I know that has not ended up causing grief routinely. My favorite stunt in such cases, using part of the Volcano 'sponge', is out since it conducts electricity.

Just got one of the Finishing Grinders in from MF. It's a really small, nicely designed and damn effective grinder. It takes the grind, compared to the Nano, to a whole new level - Green Dust! It's very easy to use and I like how the small twigs are left behind in the grinder. It totally eliminates the need to 'dump n grind' mid trench.

I also got one of the new black Nano grinders. I had the old silver one already - there is no difference in the teeth shape and design, as far as I can see, but the black one is branded and has a better finish to it imo.

Great stuff Magic Flight, keep the innovation coming :D

It wasn't long ago, that most people would laugh in OF's face. He would have already been branded a nut. Hell, there's still people that roll their eyes. They really don't get it. When "Web" is used to describe it, its an accurate description. Its a virtual web and it can ALL be traced.

Unfortunately he's right. This day and the future, have been a long time coming. People get a false sense of security, even in rather intimate surroundings such as this. Really, we're just but a tiny blip on a blip's ass. Rest assured though, they know we're here. It probably wasn't even a real live person. But, we've been cataloged and stored away, for possible future use.

I play the odds. The odds they come after the end users, us... in a mass sweep? Well, personally... I think that one is much further down the road. Plus, the odds that they're going to put away a guy that's terminal and my condition... the most they could do, is put an ankle bracelet on me. And subject me to random tests, I'd fail all the time. Again... what are they going to do to me?

But, honestly... I don't think I'll be around that long. Probably best that way.

You're very welcome. Not to be too dark, but IMO it's food for thought. As time goes on, the privacy traditionally ours under the 4th Amendment is melting away. For better or worse.

Not to correct the Master and all, but folks laugh in my face (up their sleeves, behind my back....) all the time as it is. The nut branding was also taken care of long ago......as I'm often reminded.

Your point about 'we're too small a fish for them to bother coming after' is exactly right I think. Nobody is going to think it's a good idea to do such a broad sweep unless LOTS else is seriously fouled up. It would definitely be at the 'least of our problems' end of things. That's not the threat I see. It's the data collection and compiling. How long until there's a 'LEO only' database people with authorization can simply log into to get the information on any given person? Something that will search back, link you to addresses, forums, social network postings and so on despite screen names and the like? Organizations you've emailed.....ever. How long after that does it become like a credit check? Routine for 'special cases'. Folks are already loosing jobs over credit checks. First I think will be security clearances. There's a huge number of them out now. Several percent of our population will be barred from spook jobs I'm thinking. Then to teachers and anyone getting near children.........

So I too am glad I'm retired. With it comes a certain freedom I hadn't expected.

Gentle Friends,

A day or two back I mentioned I sometimes use a battery pack with my PA to drive my MFLB 'in the wilds'. No big deal, IMO, but here it is. It's sitting on top of the camera case it lives in, you can see the connector that plugs into the PA sitting on top of the batteries:

OK, as to expected battery life, I measured the delivered voltage with fresh charged batteries, it averaged about .920 Volts the way I measured it. Setting the PA to about the mid point gave a slightly higher voltage, the light was a bit brighter, it vaped well, I took that as my data point. This is a conservative level for our use here, IMO, as it's running hotter than a 'fresh off the charger' battery would drive the box. The battery was delivering 1.55 Amps at this point to the PA. Interestingly enough, the MF 'wall wort' is rated at only 1250 mA, so it's being overloaded at this point on the power dial. If you wind it up, the current can go much higher. It doesn't burn up since the duty cycle isn't 100% but it's getting onto thin ice.

So, we're drawing 1.55 Amps from 2400 mAh batteries. About .65C, a modest rate for such batteries therefore we can expect near full capacity. 2.4 AH divided by 1.55 Amps, a bit over an hour and a half. That's 'power on time'. At say 20 seconds a hit that's 270 hits. A great plenty. At four minutes a battery it's like 22 'factory batteries' worth. If we use Pak's 10 minute number it's the equivalent of nine. If we switch to 3000 mAh batteries instead of the older 2400s I used those numbers become 27 and 11 respectively. As Tonto would tell the Lone Ranger, "many trenches". IMO plenty for all but the most demanding (who will have to carry 3 spare 18650s I guess?).

Anyway, handy gadget. Fits well in the pocket.
