I actually prefer using the MFLB and glass, with a whip. Oh, except my SSFG gridded inline. That piece LOVES the WPA. One of my favorite setups out of all my vapes/glass to. Best night stand rig, ever!

My finishing grinder will be here tomorrow, according to UPS tracking. I'm very anxious, as I know you are. Did you call USPS and tell them you don't have it?

Sadly, this is all too true. It may well be lying in a gutter somewhere just after some low life thought 'what the hell is a Nano Grinder?'. Just like empty wallets. I've found 3 of those over the years, two had IDs inside and could be returned. Met a neat neighbor that way in fact.

More over, I understand small is attractive as well. "Good things come in small packages" and all. I was once told a useful strategy is to put small high value items (like watches and cameras) in larger boxes (too big to pocket or hide in your clothes). While on the subject, a common 'inside job' is supposed to be 'overlabeling'. They slap another label over the legitimate one while it's 'in the system' and automatically get it delivered for them. The 'fix' is labels on several faces, the crook will pass it by as they only have a few seconds to act (and probably only a single label).

Long ago I lived on Oakland and after getting a second UPS package taken from the porch I bought a plywood 'gang box' for $10 at a yard sale, screwed it to the porch and showed the driver. He gave me a stack of the yellow signature forms, I'd leave one signed for him in the box with a padlock. He'd take the chit, leave the package in the box and lock it. Extreme, but it worked just fine. Packages stopped walking off, when I came home from work and found the box locked it had my stuff safe inside and a day earlier than if he'd left the slip for me to sign.

You know, funny story about the overlabeling. Some kids in the closest town to me got busted trying to buy beer by taping a 12-pack soda case UPC code over the one on the beer. An attendant must have noticed because it's supposed to ring up on the main register as needing assistance/approval before it's purchased, and it just didn't happen. They put two and two together, and that's the story of why no one can buy alcohol at self-check-outs within a 50 mile radius of my house (probably even farther, too, I'm sure they weren't the first to think of it.)

Edit: hit "submit" for some reason even though I wasn't done. If it came in a package too big for your mailbox, or if you live in an apartment complex that has a big "everybody's mail is in this wall" deal going on, maybe it didn't fit and they left it outside your door. Like OF said, I've heard plenty of stories of people driving by seeing the boxes out and deciding that they should be the rightful owners. Hasn't happened to me yet, though, probably because I live kinda far out in the country, and the only people that would see it are driving 45mph+ up and down little hills and plenty of curves as well. More often than not, the local mailman will fit it into the block's big mailbox if it doesn't fit in our compartment, but sometimes it's too big for even that and he'll set it on the box that powers the arm to our gate (you'd have to climb the fence to get it once it's set down.) Once or twice I've seen packages intended for a younger sibling just left outside the gate in plain view, but again I don't think anyone in a car would notice it. They would have to look directly to their left or right depending, it's not visible out of the peripheral vision.

That's a real possibility. USPS has delivered my mail to a neighbor more than once when I lived in apartments. It sucked too because like you said, the mailboxes are locked, so you can't even see which box they put it in. I would hope that the person that got your package would be honest and write "delivered to wrong address." I always do that when I get someone else's mail.

I mentioned it before, but judging from the pictures, the new black nano grinder has more teeth and more density, so it should ideally provide a better grind than the older silver one.

If they admit to losing it, they should tell Magic Flight and pay them to send you a replacement grinder. In fact, I would ask them to do that.

I'll be getting the finishing grinder tomorrow afternoon, and after I use it for a few days, I'll post a mini review. I might do it over the weekend. I'm pretty busy until next Tuesday, so I'll have to see how much extra time I have. Report back and let us know what usps tells you.

Anyone familiar with a source for an MFLB sold without accesories? (moved and merged)

Unfortunately, I'm forced to purchase my 3rd MFLB and I realized I (or the environment, for that matter) don't need any extra chargers or batteries lying around. I seem to remember a seller on Amazon some while back offering a barebones MFLB but they don't seem to exist anymore...

~Cheers!

It was shipped from vaporbrothers but I stalked the mail woman and found out the one that was on the shift YESTERDAY put it in the box above mine. -_-

I remember the days when I could buy things and wait eagerly on the delivery man. (starving artist). I hope it all works out for you. Any word from MF headquarters as to a release date on the concentrate "pad"? I still believe a small glass dish that fit perfectly in the trench could work, but I lack the skills to forge such an ingot shaped glass piece and test my theory. Magic Flight will figure it out, I have much faith and respect for their R&D.

I don't think that would work. I think physics is against you. Glass is a pretty good insulator (that means heat moves slowly through it). Heat will still be lost from the load at the same (higher) rate, so most of the heat that does make it through the glass will 'move on' through the load and out before enough heat reinforcements can arrive. The load will never get hot enough. A layer or two over the load would help.....

I do share your confidence in MF, if and when it gets here it'll be first rate. It's obviously not an easy thing, or it'd be done by now.

She admitted she put it in the wrong box, so she needs to confront that person, and get your stuff back now!

Yeah, I don't think you could make the glass thin enough. It would have to be some sort of heat transfer mesh or insert, which in most scenarios, introduces a conductor being placed on the screen... which we all know, is BAD.

I don't envy MF, trying to figure out the concentrate dilemma. But, I wish them the best of luck. :D

I got my new walnut finishing grinder this evening. :)

It really does give the perfect grind for the MFLB. I already had about a gram already grinded by a two piece Space Case, so I used some of that in the finishing grinder. It worked great! The final grind with the finishing grinder was more fine than I have ever been able to get, even with the MixNBall nano grinder. I may skip the nano grind from now on because the final grind was so good. I just brushed it out when I was finished, and put it back into its storage tin.

I am very impressed after using it just once. It was also much easier for me to use this grinder because of the square shape. Using a grinder has become a bit harder with my Rheumatoid Arthritis, but not with the finishing grinder. The amount I grinded came just up to the bars, so almost perfect. I hope I will be consistent with that. I don't believe I will ever need to dump a trench into my palm ever again(to break it up smaller) thanks to this grinder! So far, I love it! :D

Is this grinder a necessity? No. Does it help the MFLB perform better? IMO, definitely.

Magic Flight sells Barebone Boxes. Send an email to them

They told me they had stopped that practice , when I asked about it last month .
But they provided that service in the past for Only special instances .
