Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

In the future I will keep my ignorance to myself and I'm deeply sorry to come off like an idiot.

You shouldn't apologize for "ignorance" or call yourself an "idiot". This forum is here for the benefit of all us "ignorant idiots".

However, I think the way a question is asked or how frustration is expressed will determine how people will respond. OF alluded to this in his post.

Just be honest, respectful, and open-minded and you'll be all good.

Thanks UpandAway!
OF gave me the information I needed to get directed correctly.
I'll keep my cool going forward. I'm learning all over again.

Excellent point....and well put. We are indeed largely here for each other.....do we need 12 steps?

If we were a bigger Forum with more income maybe we could hire a Forum Idiot and we wouldn't have to all keep taking turns? I don't know about you, but when it's my turn there's just too many choices with which way to take it.......

Civility counts, but within that let the quest for knowledge (and fun) forge on? It is, after all, our reason for being?

Thanks for pointing it out, it got past me. And it's important.

Ok guys leak proofs are under testing, we put 0.5 gram of gold, and now are ripping the crap out of it. Massive vapor, production on the Persei 3.7v. We are going to keep loading the crap out of it and see what happens.

I purchased a Omicron v2 vaporizer from my local headshop about a week ago and it was working perfectly. Once one of the batteries ran out i put the other one in and it didnt work as if it wasnt charged. So i plugged both batteries into the charger and the charger LED light stayed red for over 24 hours , i tried to fiddle with the batteries thinking maybe the connection was bad. But i had no luck.

So i tried both the batteries and neither worked. I then attempted to un-screw the part where the batteries meets with the Omicron blue light and it got stuck. Neither side where it screws together would unscrew or screw back together. I have tried just about everything to un screw then and make the batteries work but it was to no avail. I am very disappointed and i dont know what to do.

Please help i really wanna vape this weekend.

Two problems. First I smell a bad battery (the second). My money's on a short. Since the charger is a single channel (parallel sockets), it basically pulled the good but discharged one down into the mud. The good news is that's probably not fatal on the first one. Putting it alone in the charger should eventually trickle charge it up enough to get recognized and trip the charging cycle. You may have to try them one at at time to tell which it is. It might take several hours each to 'click over'.

The jammed threads can be a tough one. Fortunately unscrewing either end of the tube will get you going. Heating the tube (say a hair dryer?) while cooling the end cap (hold an ice cube on it) might shift it enough so you can horse it off. Wrapping a rubber glove over the metal might give you a better grip? Being the kind of guy I am I'd probably even resort to a little bit of penetrating oil and pliers (carefully meshing with the 'teeth' on the cap rim)......

One thing sure, if you can't get it opened again, sorting the battery issue out won't help much.

Good luck. Bummer it stalled out, but as you know it's worth the effort to get it running again.

did you click it 5 times to turn it on?

Is that a feature on V2? I can't find mine to check, but IIRC it didn't happen until HVD and V2.5?

Starting with a good note the first time i smoked my Omicron it was pretty good once i got the learning curve down.

On the batteries they simply put just dont work. Ive tried each battery by its self in the charger, or both and they come out with no charge. Also the charger LED stays red all the time.

I finally got the threads apart and tried to use the battery which was "charged" and it got stuck again and wont completely screw on or screw off. Ive tried just about everything.
:( very disappointed.

what other portable vapes for concentrates (oils, waxs, putty's etc) are good?

Bummer. Some others have reported thread problems, I haven't seen it. IIRC it happens on the silver ones more often?

I don't use that charger, but did poke around with it some. Overdischarged cells (like I think you have) will typically not charge right away. Protected cells are famous for this (IMRs are not protected, but the same problem exists). Chargers solve this by putting out a very small current anyway, once the battery charges up enough it gets 'recognized' and charging is normal. The charger could be dead too, of course.

Unfortunately, it may be time to put it in a box and send it to the shop. Sorry about that.

As to other options, you've just blown past one of my favorites, the other 'top pick' IMO is the TV Revolution/DART. Great thread on it here. It's a 'load as you go' deal, you have to add a bit more (.05 to .1 gram typically) every dozen hits or so (although they can be real fat ones if you work it right......). Once you get your Persei sorted out you can get a cheap (five dollar) thread adapter and run the TV units on it. You can also use the TV supply to run Omicron carts with 'the other sex' adapter (both TV and D9 sell them.....).

Good luck.
