VaporGenie

I have the original pipe type vapour genie, it was the first one I got and it made a huge difference. I got it because I was smoking to much and got a cough, I had it for a few years non stop and after using this and cutting down on smoking it got a lot better. I got the VG just to try out what vaping was like and it was cheap. You can use tobacco in it fine, if you don't mind the smell of tobacco it doesn't really matter, you will not get much visible vapour from tobacco unless you scorch it death, but you get the flavour pretty strong, but any tobacco smell will go after you use some herb pretty much straight away. Weed people get so tripped out about tobacco, chemically the two plants are very similar apart from one has nicotine and one thc , nicotine is actually really not to bad for you if your not smoking it, probably not to much worse than caffeine.
Anyway as a start vaporizer it is great, I must of saved a few hundred pounds on medication in the first few months of having it, allowing me to save up and get a Iolite, I wanted something I could use outdoors if it was windy which is the only downside of the VG, your reliant on the flame being still. I find you get great economy with the genie, you can use tiny amounts and always be able to get it to vaporize, with a bit of practice, where as the Iolite, I find it really needs to be filled up completely to work well.
I would advise everyone thinking of trying vaping to get one of these, as it's cheap, will pretty much last for ever unless you throw it off a cliff or something, there is nothing to go wrong on it, it produces the nicest tasting vapour out of any vaporizer I have tried, but that is only 3, the VG, Iolite and the Puffit, which got opened today then repacked and is getting sent back to the shop for smelling like a bucket of chlorine .

Does anyone know of any coupon codes for the official Vapor Genie website?

I really want to get one of the aluminum pipe vapor genies, but can't find them anywhere except for the official VG site. Thanks in advance.

Just ordered one of the alu bats, they look cool. I have a regular genie , the pipe type, and had no problems getting to grips with that, so I am hoping this will be as easy.

sorry for double post, but I can't fin a edit option, I have just go the vapor genie bat aluminium . Will the horrible metallic taste go away? And how long will it take? I can't taste the vapor at all, just metal, even though I am getting visible vapor. I also couldn't get it to work in the way sugested on here, holding the hole downwards at a angle, I could only get it to wrk using the regular vapor genie method

Just though I would post this as I am sure the VG thread could use it more than the ASK FC thread I posted it in.

Great video, what was that metal thingie you used to fit the j-hook?

I busted out my VG yesterday and it was great. I forgot the primal pleasure of lighting a pipe, and nice clouds too. :D

Its tube to fip couple insert I found at home depot for less than 4 dollars thanks to momatik, it fits 14mm glass quite well, it may get position locked with the threads but I have never had any glass break or crack from it. If someone pushes it in hard it can be a problem to get out.

Classic VG owners,

I found a bowl you can pickup from Home Depot that will connect your flame filter AND connect to a 14 mm glass downstem.

Go to the plumbing section and pick up a:

TUBE TO FIP
COUPLE W/INSERT
3/8"X3/8"

It'll look like this:

719852938217

That nut on the right will screw off and you'll have something like this:

The inside will have a little lip to put a wire coil for the bowl, just like the bowl on your VG.

I attached a 14mm downstem to the top of my hookah and am getting great results.

Oh and it's like 3 bucks.

Thanks man, this is a great tip!

If I want to do a deep cleaning of my VG Coil, should I soak the entire thing in iso 99% or everything but the "stone"?

I always EXCLUDE the filter. I like to brush my coil with a toothbrush I dedicate for alcohol. Or a q-tip.
I also separate each of the pieces when I use a toothbrush.

If I can't clean the filter, is it safe to fly with? I should've bought another (new) one for this trip, but oh well.

How dirty is the filter? If there are particulates on it maybe try a vacuum hose of some sort and suck them off, I believe the filter can also get wet, but it shouldn't be dunked in water. I feel like if you kept the filter away from the coil parts and in a crowded container like with bathroom supplies while flying it shouldn't cause suspicion.

I just torched the hell out of the filter. I think it'll be ok, but yeah I'll pack it separate from the rest of the disassembled Coil.

Thanks for the advice.

Oh noo, I hope its okay. I actually torched mine before, when they updated their maintenance page for the new filters but was saddened when it didn't look like it did much because my filter was getting nowhere near red, maybe I needed a propane torch.

But I hope it all goes well in the long run.

Oh, there's no problem. I torched it on purpose to burn off any evidence. It's fine.

This will be my first extended period of hitting the Coil without glass. I hope it works well by itself because it's the only thing that'll be keeping me from combustion.

Hello dear fellow VG fans,
VG has a new website for a couple of days now... Have to say I don't like it at all :(
Before the shipping fees to Europe were USD 5... And all of a sudden USD 30! This means I'll have to put an end to my VG collection :(
Something else : the handcarved "upside down" model which I wanted to order disappeared from the website too...
DEAR VG GUYS PLEASE GIVE US THE GOOD OLD WEBSITE BACK...
I've sent them an e-mail last Friday, no answer.
Any tips. ideas, comments?

Well, I've just checked and confirmed they still don't ship to my country. I really don't know why. Think about that, even though s/h price has increased, at least they DO ship to yours...

And I really would love to have a SS coil VG.......

You can easily find those ones on ebay or at some other webshops, as they are available for whole sale
the ones in want (handcarved and classic walnut) are not

Banana.... today is your lucky day. I have my VG Coil here with me, but I will not be bringing it back to the US. Send me a PM and I'll send it to you when I leave.

Is this a great Forum or what?

If only those clowns in Washington could work together like this we could stop watching in apprehension.

I always felt this IS the greatest forum I participate. People over here show so much respect for each other, try to help as possible, share info and (seem to) have lots of fun.

But, it is not yet christmas time! Maybe Santa Claus is in a hurry to have everything done this year prior to the Mayans predicted end of the world... :D

Cheers!

Hi there,

This seems to have an happy end for everyone...
If you want to take contact with the VG team, use the online form, NOT the provided e-mail address (I always got a quick answer when i used the online form, never when i send directly an e-mail).
The guy told me that it's a problem due to the new website, which will be fixed ASAP, and that they didn't change their S/H fee policy.
I own many vaporizers (a Volcano, a SSV, a Herbalaire, 2 PD's and MANY Eclipse) but the cheaper, easy to use, beautiful, elegant VG's are still my favorite ones. I just love them!
The handcarved models are my favorite ones among the favorite ones :)

And yes this forum is great, even though I'm more a reader than a poster !

Greetings from Holland everyone
