Hey...

So I just got my Vapostar in the mail from that quickie contest, but I don't have any glass to use it with. What do you guys recommend? Need something pretty cheap.
Honey Bear... hehe. The vaporstar is designed too fit any bong... if its not glass on glass get yourself one with a rubber gasket or the likes.
Or you can do what I do... If i have nothing too take out in public I just hit straight from the bowl (sans glass)... found you can get nice hits and its not too hot. The wood isnt nice on the lips though, bit rough.

As an alternative you can use some food grade tubing, plug in the VS and vape away.

FEAR420, also made a good point in that the time/amount of flame required will vary upon product. We are also in the process of revamping the instruction's that come with the units, to help rectify confusion.

I just use the tube I use on my DBV. Works well but I need to get a bong.

Took it on a trip to a camp for a few days and a few people tried the VS and loved it. The MF served me well during my traveling to and from!

Everybody loved it and thought it was very cool as that was the first time they heard of a vaporizer outside of those cigarette like ones. They also loved the space case grinder. I need to get one with a kief catcher, everyone used the grinder, I could have had a nice kief tax :D

That Ehle 100ml looks like it would be perfect for the Vapostar, no? Open to other suggestions though.

Where can I order this that may be a bit closer to Cali than the UK? :/

100ml is the perfect size for the vaporstar... goes well with the PD too... don't know where too get other than the UK though... for me was cheaper too buy from the UK than buy either EHLE or RooR locally....

Go with the ice catch ;)

The 100ML Ehle is also the perfect bong for the PD, they work great together!

that and I find with bigger bongs you definitely have too change your breathing technique. The bigger the bong the easier too combust if you don't adjust you breathing. 100ml is the perfect size for the VS. I've tried it with the bigger sized bongs. It only got more and more frustrating with the bigger the size.

Yeah I tried it with my 16" migrant and results were less than desirable. I gave up on trying and just took out my vhw. I'm going to give it another shot on a day I have tine to sit and experiment. I need something with much less air volume. My pd could use some water filtration too. I'll have a bubbler soon enough. I'm not gonna give up on it just yet

When I tried it in my 26" tube,I didnt really have to change my draw/breathing that much, but I do see where youre coming from as I have tried it in about 4 diff bongs now. I have a small straight tube, maybe 8-10",no carb just a slide. When I use this one,I have to draw a bit faster as to not combust due to its smaller size & volume. When I use my "mini-sphere",I have to pull much faster & harder as there's a greater volume of air to be swapped with vapor if I want a good hit going.Once I get the vapors flowing,I can then slow my draw down & fill the globe, sounds a bit odd but it works... When I used my 12MM custom blown bong,I had to draw REAL SLOW...This thing is HUGE! I dont even try to fill it,just get what I can & clear it and pray I dont combust. All in all,it really comes down to 2 or 3 things...breathe/draw control, size & distance of flame and lastly size & volume of your chamber. Smaller, thinner chambers will flow vapors much faster & "milk" much faster. The bigger, longer chambers will take more effort to fill with the VS.

I have just been packing enough for a PD bowl, maybe 1 and a half, and man this thing is awesome I just rip for awhile holding the heat until its completly milked release 3 seconds while inhaling, put the flame back on, then milk again, I'm able to pull 4-5 juicy juicy hits off that tiny tiny amount, after the first toke the herb isn't even brown, just a little gold around the edges, mostly green. All I can say is this vape keeps on impressing me daily, it is awesome!

Fear420 I love vaping with ice, its one of my alltime favorite things, especially with the Vrip. I haven't really done it with the Vapostar cause I figured it would be harder to keep track of my heat, I tend to watch the vapor and determine the heat by that. But I think I have the technique down pretty good now to try it with ice.

One thing I would say too the guys at the vaporoutlet making the glass bowl... You should put a handle or something of the likes onto the bowl. Too avoid handling hot glass.
kinda similar too the handle on the Herbo Bowl

Ya know I was JUST thinking the same thing as I wake & vaked...."If theyre making a glass one,I hope they make something THICK so I dont get burned...". I never thought of the handle idea, just thicker glass or a wood inlay running the circumference.

Long term evaluation: While I like my VaporStar, particularly that by default it's used with glass (I don't like the wood pipe on the traditional VaporGenies because you can't see the vapor), the fixed screen to set the bud on is a pain in the ass to clean. It gets packed with small particles and gets progressively harder to inhale through too. Also, how do you clean the resin out of a wood bowl? With normal tobacco pipes, some people burn it out, others scrape the bowl out to clean it, but that can only be done so a few times until the bowl is no longer usable. And there's no way to do either of those with the stem of the bowl. The stainless steel herb container on the VaporGenie (or glass as the case may be) is superior in this regard. That I would have no concern about using a torch to clean. Overall, I like my VaporStar a lot, but next time I'm going to get a glass VaporGenie. That's definitely the better choice short of an all-glass VaporStar. I really like the bowl form factor, but I don't like that the bowl is made out of wood. Glass is just superior.

To clean the wood, vaporize the inside oils without any herb in side. It will vaporize the condensation inside and keep things clean. :D

I actually look forward too doing this every couple of weeks or so. Also good way too stretch your stash out, gives you one or two bowls worth of vapor (Well, depending on how heavily you use it)

Forgot to mention that the bowl warps because of the heat and makes the steel cap difficult to put on and take off. Humidity is probably a factor too. Some days I don't have much trouble, others I have to fight with it to remove the cap.

Got my VS last week and have used it non stop since, loving it :)

Has anyone effectively used Beeline with their VS?

Welcome to FC. Cheesus.. Im glad you like VS as I do. (thinking of using it right now :D )

However, I would NOT suggest to use beeline/hempwick (or any candle flame source) with VS. The flame touches the metal and produces soot.. OTOH, beeline works better with VG .. checkout my review of VS vs VG here http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=1788

Thanks Bananiq :)

Nice review of the VS and VG, shame about the break :( Are you going to get another one?

I've just been using a normal Bic lighter with my VS with good results. Never thought about using a torch lighter, I would of thought it would burn your herb much easier.
