I LOVE God of War 1 and 2 in HD on PS3. Great games and they look fantastic with the hd upconvert.

Our copies of God of War 1 & 2 (dual pack) are coming directly from Sony, so I really hope they sent us the HD upconvert. :)

The remastered HD versions are the only versions on PS3, so they will be :)

1 and 2 dont quite look like PS3 games or anything, I don't want to overstate their graphical quality. Not quite up to snuff with modern PS3 games but much better than if you took your original discs and popped them in.

They're great games. Did you get GoW 3?

Also, if you are a God of War fan, there was a great little clone called "Dante's Inferno", which took the poem and turned it into this batshit insane video game plot. Ended up being a really cool game in the end. But it's nothing more than a GoW clone, plays basically exactly the same. It can be found very cheap nowadays, especially used. If you can find it in that under $15- 20 range I would bet that you'd find enjoyment with it if you like the GoW series.

We haven't played any of the GoW series yet. I'm sure we will get GoW 3 after we defeat 1 and 2. :D

Thanks for the other suggestion too! We are always looking for good games, as long as they aren't first person shooters. We prefer third person shooters. :)

I like stuff in genres all over the place. I do love a good bloody game though, and GoW always was good for some gratuitous violence.

We don't prefer violent games, but will play some. We do like games like the Infamous series (and add on, "Festival of Blood) and Uncharted series....Batman series, Madden, Tom Clancy HAWX, etc. We also play DC Universe Online and Star Trek Online for the PC. I recently cancelled my STO account due to boredom, and I don't like games that focus on flying as the main thing. I prefer playing games like DC Universe. My husband likes the piloting games.

GOW series is great. Especially 2+3. Graphics are so good in 3, I've yet to see anything close match it other that FFXIII and Vanquish on PS3.

@Vicki. If you like third person shooters, you gotta check out Vanquish.

Vanquish was AWESOME! And far too forgotten. I never finished it though because it was borrowed and the dude needed it back.

Gonna have to find me a copy of that one I think I'd like to add that to my collection.

That looks really cool! I'll have to see if I can download the demo at the Playstation store. Thanks! :)

Vanquish is my #1 third person shooter of all time, maybe my favorite ps3 game overall...I was heavily addicted to that game for weeks. The graphics, controls, and sheer quantity of stuff going on is amazing.

Still never beat challenge 6....

Its also prob $20 or less everywhere, everyone should own that game, makes you feel godlike and is actually challenging in an intelligent way.

How come everyone mods that WWE Allstars fight stick? Is it that bad stock?

they are easy as hell to mod and you used to be able to find them cheep as dirt for a while. got 2 for $20 each, another $70 for parts and artwork... you got a high quality custom stick for around $90 and 2 hours work.

I don't like the effect when you run.... so I never played much Gears of War.

I did just get Guild Wars 2. What an incredible MMO! I am really blown away by what I have experienced so far.

She meant God of War. Though I'm not much of a shooter fan anymore, I love me some Gears. But it all comes back to the sweet sweet blood.

I just upgraded my mouse to a Razer Mamba

And it's way awesome. Anyone who's into computer gaming should look at Razer products. I've used a DeathAdder for the last few years, which has a near identical fit and is really comfortable for right handers. Anyone else a Razer user?

My husband says he'd like to try that mouse, but it's kinda pricey. I might consider getting it for him at Christmas. Does it make gaming easier?

I don't know if easier is the word, but in a way I guess it can be. It is FAR more accurate and smooth. If your husband is a bigtime PC gamer he'll adore it, I promise you. If he's just kinda a casual, 2-4 hours a week kinda gamer you might be able to put that money to better use. I don't own one anymore but I used to, and my lord do I miss it. I actually can't play shooters anymore because I miss it. When the wallet gains a little more weight I might have to splurge on one myself.

i have a razer deathadder. it's nice but i wish i went with a logitech one that is more formed for the hand. mine doesn't really rest that well on it, feel like i'm hovering my palm over it and only have my fingers on the buttons. still a nice mouse none the less.
