All you 'heavy cleaners', I asked a few pages back and no one answered me.

Where is a good place to pickup quality pipe cleaners? I'm almost out of the ones Ploom supplied with the Pax and the pipe cleaners I found in a local craft store shed like a dog, and I don't want pipe cleaner fibers in my pax.

Really?? Do you have a pic? Please :D

Sorry Joe, don't have a pic at the moment, could get one tonight.
The LED in my replacement looks like the Pax from the ads, as opposed to pakalolos from a few pages ago.

The Pax vs LB thread will get its contribution in due time.

light looks different in picture than it does in person. the led is only on one side, feel free to take apart your pax, remove the piece of plastic over the led and you'll see the light only shines from one side; i can almost guarantee they didn't change anything.

i have a pax from when they were first released and the led looks perfectly fine, when i take a picture however its noticeable.

I should point out that the LED display looks half lit only in my photos. Looking at the actual Pax you see a solid colour but unevenly lit. I'd say the ads have been shopped. I can tell from some of the pixels and having seen a few shops in my time.

After two days of using the Pax, I'm sold.

If at home, I'm using the MFLB with PA. Likely no more MFLB battery use for me (even with my Powerex batts), as they don't have enough juice unless the herb is very dry and very finely ground. For home, I like the small hit potential. More of a gourmet vape experience.

If away, I'll use the Pax. It holds more, cooks better, and lasts longer. Exactly what I was looking for with a travel vape.

Now I'm intrigued, and I'll agree that photos can exaggerated things, but I definitely notice my light shines from the right-side in person as well.

I think it's possible to even the glow out by changing to plastic diffuser or moving the actual led. As brian point out, the led is already on the edge of the pcb board so it's unlikely they could move it, but maybe they added a reflector and a modified diffuser to make it look more centered?

I want to pick up a portable in the next two months and it's looking like a Pax. I'm excited, and this forum, as always, is a fantastic resource. I keep reading that they may be making minor but not insignificant upgrades to the mouthpiece, maybe the temp-setting button, etc. I probably don't have time to wait for a PaxII, but obviously I'd like to buy the most recent version with any improvements. I know this is a dicey question with no certain answer, but can someone help me identify what modifications they've made on recent shipments, if any, and how I can make sure I'm ordering the most current version? I know the thing is backordered everywhere and so no one really knows the answer. But I've ordered from VapeWorld often in the past and I'd like to know what I'm asking for when I call them (e.g., "I'd like the improved mouthpiece," etc). I haven't heard any talk of serial numbers a la Solo (though that may be a red herring anyway), but, to repeat, I'd like the most current model.
As always, thank you kindly, as Mick Jagger used to say....

I would agree with Vape World. They have their act together.

They will only sell you a box with a Pax in it. They have no ability to exchange parts. No sense asking for the "new" one. They're all new.

I would suggest you order the Pax, and then go to Ploom, chat with them and ask for the new mouthpiece. I don't think any of the new ones are shipping with the latest mouthpiece. However "You've seen the new mouthpiece pics on FC, and your current one sticks and doesn't catch properly." Ploom is also excellent to deal with and they want you happy so they can keep selling out.

i would like to see an easier user replaceable battery in the Pax 2. so one can bring a few cells along with the Pax for a day or two w/out needing charging.

Thanks again, willieR. You basically answered my question when you said "they're all new" and that, as far as you know, the new ones aren't shipping with the latest mouthpiece. Okay: I'll order one, hope for the best, hope it comes soon, and pick up a next-generation mouthpiece.

I don't own a Pax, but about small oven loads?? ... Did someone try to sandwich the small load with an extra SS screen from Ploom???
IMO it's a perfect fit and it will gradually sunk pushing the load down as it gets baked and vaped :)

Maybe it even sticks to the magnet in the oven lid, if it remains too tall and don't push the load down, buy some thin magnet and add it for extra push and weight.
I know people are going to say it's too complicated and so on, but maybe it's worth a try. Please let me know.

I don't have any difficulty packing the heck of a 1/2 brick and having it stay in place really nicely.

Well, if I ever get the extra screens I ordered almost 2 weeks ago, I will try to sandwich smaller loads between them, but I agree with willieR, my pressed in smaller loads seem to be staying in place just fine.

I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but what is the significance of the dispersion pattern of the LED indicator? Photoshopped marketing or not, who cares?
Hahaha, that made me laugh. You know you're medicated when you're staring at your Pax light wishing it would get brighter...

Also shows how eager I am to mod something lol

Please don't let me get in the way of any creative mod juices!

I have to make a Pax tool. I think I'll make one like the Dude showed us. I like the point. I may also try hammering a widened, flat edge on one end for scraping / moving. File it so it's not sharp.

So I received my PAX yesterday. I ordered directly thru ploom about 2 weeks ago and my first impressions are woah this is smaller than expected, oven Is tiny but you can pack a ton in it surprisingly!!! Loaded up a oven on high and was stoned for 2.5 hrs, had the "sticky" mouthpiece when trying to push it down when I was done. Took about 5-10 attemps of me pushing it down for it to finally catch. Had my 2nd oven load earlier today and had the same issue this time took about 30 attemps for it to finally catch( I am pushing on spring side). I'll be emailing ploom about the issue and double checking my current mouth piece to see if it's the one they updated. At this point I'm having 2nd thoughts.. Wishing I would of ordered the INH. I will be in Yosemite this weekend, so I will be putting the PAX to work!

So I had to make one of those nifty paperclip tools (thanks for the idea guys!!), also recently started having trouble with my silicone slipping off the mouthpiece. I took one of those mflb/solo end caps and cut the tip off, slid that up over the silicone tubing and it seems to be holding strong. I ordered some 3/4" ID 1/16 thick black soft silicone tubing from McMaster-Carr, it should be here in a few days. I am hoping that size will slide up over most of the mouthpiece for a better grip/connection. We'll see how it goes. Sorry for the blurry pic...

I made a tool earlier on out of a coat hanger(posted pics a few dozen pages ago) and it worked fine, but a local shop had a VapeTool mini in stock so I picked it up. I gotta say it is so much nicer than the one I made. It works great for packing and brick flipping. I got it for $6 and I have seen them online for as much as $10.

I have not once had my mouthpiece stick even though i have the original mouthpiece. I even smoked some gooey bubble hash mixed in and my unit has been fine. I always push down gently on the mouthpiece till it clicks into place, i dont just jam away at the thing like i've seen in some of the video reviews where they are clicking it up and down like crazy
