I'll go out on a limb here and guess that what you're seeing is discolouration from pre-market testing. The shoulders appear to be the normal SS screen.

Hey thank you for fixing pics .
It was tested by M before shipping out to me , I got a slip stating so .
But I'm still surprise at how much discoloration though .
Again , I've no complaints , just making an observation .

And Vicki ,
The little screen is from my NO2 . It was just meant to show contrast .

I'm curious too about the discoloration, my box (the last version before the click-lock) wasn't discolored like that, although I have seen some screens from the display units at my LHS be like that, as well. As long as it doesn't affect performance, you should be fine. Maybe they ran power through it and looked through their fancy video cameras to see if it was heating evenly?

All right, this time I won't play cute. That discolourization is from the pre-market testing. See: Does the bottom of the trench have a brown tint when the Box is new?

I'm pretty sure the amount of discolourization depends on the individual LB and variations in testing. It doesn't affect performance in any way.

pakalolo,
Wow I wouldn't mind one of these. Great video.

When they say finishing grinder, are they intending that you grind first with another grinder then finish in this grinder? Or...

Edit: skipped forward in the video, didn't see the preground part

Yikes, $40 is a big price tag for such a small grinder :2c:

I don't think price should be a function of size here. The question you should ask yourself is whether it is worth the money to get an attractive device that can produce a perfect finishing grind. If it came in koa I'd be all over one even though I don't need it.

after watching again, It looks like it does the same job as my credit card grinder at 5 times the prixe :D. Maybe the finishing grinder is a little finer.

I don't doubt that you can get the same results from your credit card grinder. I said I don't need it because I dry my stuff and I can get a fine grind just by finger-crumbling when I load the LB. I don't see this as a "need" accessory; rather, it's very much a "want" thing.

It's definitely a want item. It'd be nice if MFLB would make an all-in-one grinder/finishing grinder. Seems crazy for folks who already spend $9 or $17 on their regular grinders to have to spend another $40 for a finishing grinder.

I love when my stash is dry enough for a finger grind. The great thing about the MFLB (and I've said this before) is that even if your grind is too coarse or wet, you can always just re-finger grind after a few inhales when the herb has dried a bit more.

re; finishing grinder
It's kinda like " Branding " your product .
Letting your consumers spread/show off their new accessories for their product of choice .

Like how you have some friend(s) that have those neon beer signs ( Molson's/Coors/Bud )
above their home bars . And you ask them how much the sign cost ?
My reply is usually ...wow , you must really really like that beer !

Well , I really really like my LB .
And it's good to know if I want my " neon sign " ,
It'll get here in 7 days .

NFL n THC n MFLB
OMG

I'm not saying it's bad, I just wish they'd roll both their regular and finishing grinder into one piece. It'd be a no-brainer purchase for me.

If it was more like $12, I'd be all in for one, but $40 is just insane. I understand they've gotta make a profit and R&D isn't cheap, but that still seems a little extreme for what it is.

This is obviously not a bargain product... and the MFLB Official Nano Grinder was lovingly presented to us by Magic Flight, at a very low cost.
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong, now that they have catered to those bargain minded among us, with them offering some unique exclusively crafted "connoisseur" grinders at the price the maker deemed fair.
Don't want to spend that much, the Nano Grinder works VERY well indeed!

It's not about the cost for me, it's about adding yet another item to my growing MFLB collection, and indeed to my vaporizer collection over all.

I just want my grinder and finishing grinder in one piece. I'd buy one tomorrow if they could do that.

I might pick up the MF Nano Grinder. Is the grind really that much better than a 2 piece Spacecase? I know worth is subjective, but if I've got a perfectly working grinder already, would it be "worth it" in your opinion to shell out the 12 or so dollars for one?

Not to dissuade you, but if you're happy with your current setup, why change? The Finishing Grinder looks really nice, and we even have two choices of Nano grinders and all, but I have a coffee grinder that gets it down as fine as I want it, so I won't be getting them any time in the near future. As to how well it grinds, I can't say since I haven't used one, but one of the selling points of the Nano is that it fits right into the "bowl" of the Box, so no spilling, plus it's the "official" one.

I for one agree with Vito. It's not like MF left us in the dark with other grinder options...

After my two piece space case, I always re-grind in the "Nano" for the LB.
It does make a difference.
The Finishing grinder also improves upon that, but I was happy with the "Nano grind"...
yes the nano grinder does a great job and is an improvement
