Arizer Solo

you can also put a bit of (1/2") silicone tubing on the end of your stock stem, and I found it makes better contact with the glass. You can see it in this video I made a while back...

jambandphan03,
So..i am in the market for a new portable vaporizer. The Arizer Solo is one of my 2 choices, next to the Thermovape T1.

I am wondering about a couple things though and i hope some folks can help me out.
A: Is there somebody who has both? And which one do you prefer/use most and why?
B: This probably is a stupid question but..what are SS screens?
C: How harsh is the vapor of both? I would think the Arizer Solo will be less harsh because i can do low temp vaping without taking too much effort.

I have the Iolite and the MFLB which i both like, although the Iolite isn't seeing much use nowadays..It was a good vape at the time i bought it, because there weren't as many alternatives as now.
get the solo. I have both and the T1 is garbage. No where near as big of hits as the solo and its a bitch to have to hold up that button everytime. The T1 does heat up quicker and is more steathier. So it all depends on what you are going for in a vape. SS screen's just means Stainless Steel. The both seem similar in harshness, but you can get a way bigger hit with the solo and it's not harsh at all. Although to throw another curve ball in the mix, I know no longer use my solo as I have the Inhalter. ;)

EDIT: lol they already said everything I did

Why do people in the USA get such a great deal on the Solo, and people in Ontario, Canada, Where the solo is actually made, pay $229 plus $30 tax? How does this make sense?
lol. If you live where they are made then just go to the factory and buy it straight from them? Then I would just print off all of these deals from here and go in there and demand my solo!!! lol Well maybe not like that but go in there and ask. It wouldn't hurt. The worst they could say is no.

Holy water in that DG!!! I usually fill mine just barely to the top of the fritt.

tstat...I use Ed's stem for the Solo to mate with my 14mm adapter. It wedges in there well enough to use hands free.

And I like the Solo in bed as well...not worrying about falling asleep with that thing in my hand as it shuts off quickly and wouldn't make too much of a mess. Also, it's easy to share with my wife. I find that she likes this better (she is slooooowly converting) than having to go over to a vapor station for a whip, glass, etc.

I need a GoNG as well...whats the difference between crabbed and not crabbed

Carbed has a carburetor on the side to let in air. Many feel that it is too close to the heat and becomes difficult to use at the end of a session. Also makes using the GonG as a regular mouth stem less feasible. I prefer the non-carbed version myself.

LOL! @stickstones- my wife doesn't really like to medicate (although she needs it!) and when I do get her to do it, it's in the bedroom right before sleeping. Anyway, she tried the Cloud a few times but didn't like holding it and the glass, etc. But with the Solo, it's just too easy. I have gotten her to try to it 3 times since I got a week ago! Progress!!

I still want to run it through water, but this thing kills...

you can keep up with PlanetVape's updates here: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/p...for-the-best-vapes-on-the-planet.4404/page-23

They just announced maybe early next week for PVHES stems to be available. I hope it's true. I have been seriously wanting one of the PVHES GONG stems... they make them in 14 and 18 (I go with no carb). The "shortie" stem is the same length as the others, it's just got a smaller bowl on the end, so you can be conservative. I got the regular size PVHES straight stem on the first batch, and it is amazing compared to stock stems!! So much easier to draw through, and more vapor.

I've been waiting to order the PVHES stems for a few weeks now so hopefully I can pick up these soon! :D I only have the 4 hole stock stems and Eds Granadillo stems so far.

Good to hear I'm not the only one!

The Solo works with a bubbler, but the air gets more restricted and undesirable, imo. When I want to use the water, I reach for the Cloud or the HI, but I use the Solo a lot simply because water is not always feasible. The great thing about Ed's stem is it has a dual purpose...water tool a and strong portable stem.

Hello,

As promised by the man from vaporlot.com my Solo arrived this morning. I'm so impressed by it's build quality and it's smaller than I expected. It's charging at the moment. hopefully it won't be long. I'll give you my inexperienced but honest opinion once I've used it.

In which thread can I comment on sellers? I can't recommend vaporlot enough, they've been great.

Haha yeah. Mine is all scuffed up too and i've had it less time. Part of me wishes the solo was all metal so the bottom was hardy but the other part thinks that a swappable thermoplastic outer would be good to reduce weight in certain situations.

think Arizer would replace it?

Try buying a Solo that messed up somehow and swap the casing.

Arizer would probably charge you too much to replace that case, probably not enough to be worth it.

I've had mine for 4 months and it looks brand new, what the heck do you guys do to these things?

I have 2. I alternate them monthly for probably no valid reason, but my serial numbers are long-faded so I'm guessing that pretty strong piece of metal has some life left in it (once it gets a battery!)

Hey welcome to FC thesoloman ,
Straight up , was it easy to remove the bottom from the body , as others have stated ?
I'm not a real Handy-man , but I can handle a screwdriver and all .
And why did you have to remove the battery after 9 months ?
Did it die ?

TIA

Just got rid of my woodeez and V-tower which leaves me with only me solo to use for herbs until i get my underdog! So far it is working great as a main driver! i mostly dab anyways so its perfect for the couple herb bowls i have a day. Solo is boss for normal at home use

For now, since most of the GonG stems are out, your option is basically sticking teh stem into the 14mm opening.

Creates a perfect seal BTW and works pretty dang good, just gotta hold the Solo while hitting it. I do it all the time with my 12" tube.

Yes, I find it works fine and you can improve the flow if that suits you or if you want a better seal a piece of tape or rubber band on the end of the stem will make it seal.

I will get a PV Gong stem when they return but honestly it works super well without it. With my INH I use some Whip tubing into a 14mm joint and that seals up nicely too.

Cost is free versus $30.

I used to do this more often but I decided I like the leakier and somewhat better flowing hits of the stem straight glass on glass.

BTW: Finally caught up. Busy in solo land

Pulled the trigger on the Solo today.
Tried to get a bong with it straight away, but the guy had to order them.

So far i have only been using it on setting 2 and 3 and i am very impressed.
The vapor is not harsh at all and tastes great. Like someone said, the first inhale you don't get much vapor but a great taste.

I went to a store and they even gave me a free very small grinder.

I will try higher temp vaping later on..so far i have been very happy with this device.

:peace:

Let me know how that goes... Just recently got it too and I've been going back and forth between 3 and 4.

Another thing: so is this a convection or conduction vap? I feel like my bud closer to the cup is more brown than the furthest most bud in the stem.

Last question: can the heat from the device (even at hotter settings like 6-7) be enough to start to melt/warp the plastic cover were it to be on?

Definitely can't warp the outside cover. I know lots of people with smell issues would repeatedly keep the solo on 7 to try to burn the smell out w/ no issues
