Did you happen to go to tobacco leaf to get the herborizer by any chance? Enjoy your new toy!

No. I went to Grateful J's. They had boxes of them on the shelf but they just had the standard Herbo which is what I picked up. Hope that wasn't a mistake.

How long do you need to let this thing heat up for? I just tried it and it didn't milk like I thought it would. Also, how much herb should you put in the bowl? Should it be a think layer or should I stick a bunch in there? I swear I scanned through the thread and my unit didn't come with any instructions nor did I see any on the website.

I have the standard herbo and works very well for me. Just give it 10 minutes to heat up. Then another 5 minutes or so to heat up the bowl. Takes a draw or two before the material will start releasing vapor.

Hi all,
I bought Herborizer XL in September, altough the company sent it to me in october :o .... I want to tell about my experience and problems with injector. Anyone has problems with injector?

When I recieved my Herborizer I put to tested with my weed and extractions. And in 3 days of use the injector was broke  . See a pics:

We are 5 people in this forum (http://www.cannabiscafe.net/foros/showthread.php/140175-Herborizer) with the same problems with injector....we think that is a design fault of injector.
We speak with herborizer company and then, they changed the injectors. Anyone knows if there is a design change in the new injectors?

Well, I received last week the injector repaired. But in 3 days using herborizer no more than potency 8, injector was broken again  . See a pics:

Other problem that I see in the injector repaired, in the plug, it is a protruding tip:

Sorry to hear about your herbo. :(

It looks like the set-up of all of the heat injectors I have seen. Did you have any quick changes in temperature when it happened (got it wet, sharp cold breeze, rested on a cold area, cold slide/icy bong, etc)?

I am not sure what that scrap of metal in the plug is. Was it there when you bought it?

For what its worth, the Herborizer has as good of a reputation for solid craftsmanship as they have a poor one for timely orders and responses (as far as I know).

Hopefully with some effort there will be answers and possibly warranty repair or discount replacement (depending on the circumstances).

edit:

Siento mucho lo de tu herbo. : (

Is it just broken glass or did the heater die altogether?

Hi stonemonkey55,

for now, only the glass is broken. Apparently it works fine, but it's new and repaired. It's not normal, isn't it?
Other specific problem is that twice have not vaporized, injector was heating but not enough. I had to switch off, and then switch on and finally it works... I've only used it during 2 weeks, I need to use it more.

My injector has only a crack, but look at the injector of a friend:

Thanks all to answer me.

Normal changes of temperature, I've only use herbo in my home, about 24-25C and 40% humidity.

I've Bong sphere (Herbo), not cold, I use it at room temperature.

The twice injector was broken, I think that it was broken while I was inhaling.

The scrap of metal was when Sebastien sent me repaired injector. Other friend has the same scrap of metal in the plug.

The first time I spoke with Sebastien I sent it and he repaired it, now i have to speak with Sebastien again. I want to know if this problem has it more people. This herbo is new, made in September.

I decided to buy herborizer for the good comments, the good reputation... but now I don't see it with my herbo, and 4 people more that I know has the same problem.

Here's a pic of the new setup.

I called in sick today and spent the day getting to know this crazy little device. It's getting me so retarded it's not even funny. I'm getting huge clouds but it won't milk in the RooR. Bowls last a lot longer than I thought they would. Some of my herb is getting really brown though.

I should also report that my Herborizer XL has exactly the same crack as yours NineDelta. Mine probably happened on the third usage and was not the result of any foul play, it's just too fragile a peice of glass in my opinion.

I also have the protruding piece of metal in the female sockets.

I have continued to use mine quite regularly and the crack hasn't become any larger. I'm in australia so i'm reluctant to do the whole return for repair thing especially if it's just gonna break again. I just hope it doesn't end up looking like your friend's one.

Despite the crappy glass problem, the performance and ease of use of this thing really rocks my world.

I'm thinking is not a particular problem, something has changed in herborizer, before wasn't broken injectors, now this seems normal. Anyone knows if now the glass is thiner than old injector?

In spanish forum (canabiscafe.net), today, another person say has the same problem, now we are 6 people with the same problem in that forum, all with Herborizer XL, people who use Herborizer no regulable seems doesn't break. Here, manchild is other with the same problem, for now, 7 people in total and continue to increase...

manchild, when did you buy your herborizer?

Greetings.

Hi everyone!

I'm one of the 7 Herborizer owners from other forum that had problems, just like NineDelta mentioned.

In my case it happened after the heating element was on for about 10 minutes. I had it in temperature 8 and while it was warming up I heard a cracking noise and in the end I had a glass piece broken in the middle of the vaped herbs. Heating element was sent to France and I already got it back, as new. Now unfortunately I wont be abble to test properly for some good 15 days, I only tried it twice and no problem at least with temps bellow 7,5. Soon I'll give a more intensive test and than we'll see...

In the meanwhile I got some news from Sebastien himself, he admits that some units manufactured a couple of month ago are featuring this kind of problem. So we hope he will do whatever possible to correct it. In the meanwhile I advise anyone that thinks about buying it to confirm before with them if the problem is now solved and if the heating elements sold now are different from those that had this problem.

I'm sure it was just in a few injectors, among the thousands they may be selling and I'm also sure that the problem is now detected and solved, it is a big company right now and they will deal with this as a big company. They did it with me, changing it for a new one, so customer service works well and the vaporizer is really very good, I was just part of the 0,1% that had the bad luck...

Stay cool, keep it high, sweet vapes... ;)

I bought mine in April. Delivery was delayed a few weeks because of the volcano eruption in Iceland. Kinda ironic!

I was thinking I'd have no hope of convincing the manufacturer that the cracking was not my fault. These recent posts have given me a little hope. Thanks guys.

It still works fine for the moment though and I'd hate to be without it for too long.
NineDelta and Tommy how long did it take for your units to get repaired?

Hi! You're welcome ;)

I guess a month, maybe a little bit more. I got back to my old Volcano during that time, my alltime favourite :)

But I like the Herborizer and from the few use I gave it I think the high is a bit different from the high of the Volcano. Not better, not worse, different... and I like to feel the highs in different ways, from time to time. Also noticed that after vaporizing the herbs for some 3 or 4 minutes (3 or 4 blows) in the Herborizer, the herbs still have something and if you then try it in the Volcano it works really well, better vapor than from a 2nd bag when only using the Volcano. Well, after all it seems to be a very good vaporizer, I'm just disapointed with this bad luck, but I hope now this heating element doesn't also crack... If it lasts for 1 year I would be satisfied, hehe, at least it would mean I would be abble to give it some heavy use...

Sweet vapes... :/ Regards!

I think that since you guys all experienced the cracking around the same time frame, my hypothesis is that a batch of the heat injector covers were not annealed which is why you guys all experienced the same thing.

Just email Sebastian, he's always been good about taking care of his customers.

Thanks Tommy, manchild, and stonemonkey55.

I'm agree with stonemonkey55, maybe that problem are in injectors, at least, from spring 2010 to now. Manchild bought it in April, other friend in June, Tommy and me in September.

manchild, I was without my injector about a month to a month and a half. And Spain is near to France. But Sebastien only change glass.

One friend (it was broke 3 times for the same reason) from the forum cannabiscafe.net tell us that Sebastien said to him that he'll send him a new injector. I'm waiting answer from Sebastien.

You guys know that sebastien from herborizer announced a collaboration with Roor a while back. Although i never have seen a roor vape for sale. also a strange move from roor and herborizer imho.

Who knows what kind of deal he made and maybe it isn't made anymore inhouse @ herborizer.

It seems like the point of the glass injector on the bottom (where it touches the heater) is much more sharp as the old ones !?!

Also maybe thanks to his collaboration, who knows

I think if roor know these problems they could better think twice about a collaboration, in terms of
they're good name. I mean already 7 bloggers with problems, how many non bloggers would there be :/

Thanks Sebastien!

Very nice of you ;) I'm in contact with the person/company that sold the vape to me and I already knew (since a couple of hours ago) that you were at our disposal to assume your part and change the injector.

Also nice to know that this was an isolated situation and that it is solved and all your vaporizers are now guaranteed to be as perfect as always. It is also remarcable to see that you care about customer enough to even intervene at this forum to clarify the situation. I'm sure this counts for your future clients as now that realize that if they have any problem you'll be glad to solve it. That's the right thing to do ;) and as I said it is very nice of you.

Can't wait to have it in perfect conditions as soon as possible, hehehe, as far as I tried it I guess it is really a nive vaporizer, great flavor, a remarcable high, nothing of the herbs is wasted and it has a very beautiful design, among other things I will surely soon find out. I own other 5 vaporizers and the Herborizer seems to be one of my 2 favourites, along with Volcano, I will have to try it a bit more to find out which one I prefer.

Well, that being said, thanks again for clarifying this subject.

Let the vaporizer discussion continue...

Words really can't describe how much I love this vape right now. I haven't gotten then blazed in years. After using solely the iolite and on occasions the Supreme, this thing is just incredible in comparison. I'm getting so many rips off a bowl and the vapor taste is absolutely the best I've tasted. I'm thinking I need to get a smaller tube or bubbler though, in order for it to milk like I want it to. Sebastian, is that vapor RooR available anywhere in the US?

On a sidenote, vapor bong rips seem to wreak a hell of a lot more than a session with the iolite.

I actually discovered this while searching around trying to decide which model of herborizer to get. I just ordered it and went with the basic tube. Hopefully that was a good choice. My friend got an XL Sphere recently and loves it but he's broken two parts already and it is rendered pretty much useless while he waits for the new parts to come in. That's my biggest concern; breaking it. He has a case that he transports it in constantly and I won't even let it leave my room once it arrives so that would help but I'd like to build a sort of case/stand around it that it can stay in and be protected by.

Has anyone done anything like this? Just curious. Also, any insights on my herbo that's on the way? I just figured I go with the cheaper option instead of the xl so ill save money to use on replacement parts if (god forbid) any break but I definitely wanted the tube not sphere. I love my friends sphere and we use it constantly when he has all the pieces intact but I've always been a bong man. I gave up on anything dry (except the occasional joint when offered, but I'll never waste herb rolling my own) which includes all pipes and one hitters and blunts and alll that nasty stuff. I would always stick to my bong and loved nothing more than clearing a fat bowl in one hit that resulted in a massive cloud of smoke. After being introduced to the herborizer I knew i had to switch to vaping and this seemed so bong like and great for drawing thick clouds of vapor into the chamber.

Sorry if this is too long but I also wanted to share a story: two weeks ago while a wee bit drunk on some excellent scotch, I was smoking my bong outside and after hitting it and caching it and getting that nasty ashy taste in my mouth i yelled "FUCK COMBUSTION" and smashed my bong into a hundred pieces on the pavement. In retrospect, I should have just sold it and not smashed it like some lunatic but I thought that was a pretty awesome (albeit dramatic) way to begin the vaporization transition. I had no idea this site existed at the time but now that I do I find that even funnier.

that's all, I hope to be active in this community from now on, it already feels like home :)
