try cutting a few small bits off and press them flat and you should be able to cover the screen easily

I'm surprised this thread doesn't get more activity considering the quality of the Herborizer vapes. Then again perhaps not as popular due to price. I'm almost at the point of buying one, although I want to research the VHW because it seems like it might be more cost effective. I can get either the tube or sphere basic model w/o temp regulator OR the VHW with the water tool ($299usd special) for the exact same price give or take $10.

I'm assuming these would perform almost identical but with the VHW i'd be able to control the temp more precisely. Would there be anything else to consider?

I guess it's a better price because of the adjustable thermostat, otherwise I can get the two for the same price. I keep hearing that the VHW takes time to learn how to use properly... i guess the herbo would have the handsfree benefit.

I think that's a huge part of it. The VHW seems to hold temp better, at a better price.

Still saving to get a temp control herbo, no tube. but...

I just recently discovered de Verdamper vaporizer, not sure how i haven't heard of it as it has been around so long but i guess people just dont talk about it too much. Anyways i was just wondering if someone could give me a quick rundown of the comparisons between the 2. I know they are quite different, obviously its a task to put the DV on a tube, although they come with their own, and i'm looking for temp control so the herbo takes the cake here. And as far as cost, the herbo is about half the price. Also the nichrome heating element scares me. Any other info?

Do you need anymore? The fact that it's a constant temp seems to turn you off, not to mention the cost. Right now i'm very much debating the VHW, herbo, or just buy a glass bong for my Q. I kind of like the all in one setup with the Herbo...hands free...but the temp regulator just makes the cost a little too steep for what you're getting IMO. I'm sure the constant 190C is fine as I usually set my Q to about 220ish and don't really adjust it from there.

The VHW is a sweet setup, but the hassle of always holding that wand up to the bowl and apparently quite fragile and a bit of a learning curve.

I keep going back to the Q, but i'm not sure I want a whip between the vape and bong. The shortest path to your lungs is ideal and I still have a hard time grasping the "warm up time" aspect of it. I wanna pack and go, and not pack and wait 10-15 minutes for the herbs to warm up to get any decent vapour.

Q obviously is the cheapest option... with the Herbo being the most expensive. In the end, I guess it really doesn't matter as long as it gets you vaked!

The verdamper I think you can cover or push down on the top bit of the heater cover (which i think is by using the handle which is safe to touch) during a hit to increase the temperature. Maybe you can do the the same with the herobo, not sure.

Get a glass piece for your Q. Then at a later date get either a VHW or Herbo. That way you will already have glass that you can use with your other vapes. Give you some time to decide which vape you want to buy, and give you the opportunity to enjoy using your Q with a bong. Sure you will have to use a whip, that is until you buy a VHW or a Herborizer.
With all your options, glass is must have in each instance. So why not get the glass first.

Hey thanks for the reply and solid advice. I have no idea what bong to buy and any assistance with this would be very much appreciated. Like what size? Do I get a small one? Medium? Massive? How do you guage this? By my lung size? How ripped I wanna get? portability is a given. What about attachments? Which ones do I need to make it work with the Q? Is it a gong and just use and elbow piece with the other side of the whip?

The reason why i've been holding off is that I plan on forsure buying either a VHW or herbo (right now i'm 50/50 but i'm seeing the scale move toward VHW) and they have a watertool combo so I always figrued that would be my glass, or ofcourse the included glass with the herbo. But if I can get by with a bong that isn't too expensive to get me by as you suggest it's ideal.

Just make sure whatever glass you buy, that its GonG connections are the same size as the parts with the vaporizer you want to buy. or vice versa.... if you by a bong with 14mm (or 18mm) make sure you order your vape in the same size so everything fits and works. With larger bongs more than likely you will run into 18mm size (not true in all cases, but a good majority)
You can also buy an adapter so you can use your extreme with the bong. Adapter slides into the whip and makes a nice solid fit with the GonG joint. Vaporbrothers has some nice ones for a good price on their website in both 14 and 18mm. That way you have more than one use for your bong.

Let's keep in mind that this is a Herbo thread.
thanks Max, you avoid me a harsh intro in my first post after a real long time :ninja:

i'm so happy this thread is still live and more people is joining the happy herborist community.....someone says that could be more people loving this vape but this is still an elite product for many reasons not last the price but man....i've seen lots of sheeps buying the almighty Cano but maybe they are rich arabian from Dubai.
When quality materials and man work are the reasons of high costs i don't mind the price.....this is an art work!
Obviously it is fragile...so it is not for the Elephant man family....
Lots of questions....lots of the same questions....the Sphere/Tube dimension doesn't affects the Herbo airflow but the smaller is better for someone with small lungs capacity because it is easier to suck out the air inside the sphere and let the vapor get in faster....this is phisics!
I always prefer the xl heater with the knob and i really love the sphere xl stability!
If you break the heater's harm think about a silicone ring to wrap the heater and grab it without pain!
:peace:

Hey Marcus, thanks for coming back! Apologies for off topic but that wasn't my real intent. Intent was to ressurect this thread for a fine high quality vape like the Herbo.

no worries vape4life and thanks for your genuine intent to fire up some speach....i think lately that the Herbo is more for people who don't want to stay too much behind its vape when vaping....hands free, no hassles, just relax and vape (me)...the VHW to me is more work for vape and it gets me too much in short time, just like the Silver Surfer does.....to much sometimes!
To my eyes the Herbo session is more relaxing than the VHW.The Vrip session is no more than 5/6 monster hits.
Two different ways of vaping indeed!
Something like a pipe vs a chillum!

Thanks for the feedback but i'm not sure I understand correctly. Are you saying that the herbo doesn't give as thick hits as the VHW? Perhaps more but smaller hits? It was an easy decision for me to go with the VHW due to saving alot of money over the herbo, but I still will eventually buy a herbo as well as probably verdamper.

I experienced the opposite. I found my herbo to give much thicker, fuller hits when compared to the vhw.

i try to explain it again......example with a given amount of 0.2 gr. i can take 6 huge, thick clouds with the VHW then the taste turn spent and pop corn....finish...no more!
the same amount in the Herbo at 7/8 temp on the knob can give 10/12 hits, starting with the best taste/low vapor for the first 2 hits, then more milky vapor and still great taste for the second 6/8 hits, then still milky vapor but taste start turn pop corn with the last 2 hits......
This say to me that the VHW extacts all the good quicker and it turn the taste earlier.....the Herbo give more time to play with it, leaving the amazing taste longer and giving a clear cerebral buzz....the VHW sometimes leave me tooo stoned....remember i do prefer the HIGH pure thc effect than the STONE couchlock, more cbd/cbn effect....so i'm not saying one is better that other....they are just different!

Great comparison marcuss. You continue to keep me interested in the Herbo. Now if I could only find a half price sale. :/

Everything you have described to detail indicates that your VHW is working at a higher temperature. The higher temps release more cannabinoids and probably are responsible for the couchlock as well as the taste.

Amen max, but dont hold your breath, i been looking for like a year. got a few offers but not on any XL controls, which i definately feel i would need. Can't wait to get my mits on one of these though.

Erlhead!
I dont want to gum up this thread but the VHW has a temp knob too..... it is easy to start at lower temps and then turn it up. But like Marcus I like the thick hits.

Can anyone compare the TASTE only of herbo to VHW? The VHW is an ALL-GLASS airpath that never contacts the heating element. I dont claim to be a pro, but I notice the VHW taste is much better than the taste on my HerbalAire which is a stainless element and airpath. Peace!

Planning on buying a herborizer but i exclusively use pressed hash(no weed),
can the heborizer be used with pressed hash ?

I ordered mine straight from Herborizer in france. Got here in somewhat timely manor and the owner is a real nice guy (speaks great english too!). I think that'd be the best place to grab one. As far as best price I think your stuck with the price on their website unless you came across something used.

Edit: scratch that, they went rogue
