i have a m104 and it tastes better than any vape ive used with the exception of the cloud.
I now am using two Solos, after all the hullabaloo...
I have M104 and M1D2... I do notice that my M104 seems to taste better than the M1D2.. or a few 107s.
I can not say electronic... or plasticy... or metalic on the others.... but the 104 tastes better to me!

Thank you for all the info! Wow, FC truly is a gold mine of knowledge. Vito, would you mind sharing the retailer info from where you bought your solo(s)?

I guess I keep thinking as soon as I buy one then Arizer is going to release a newer version of the solo. Maybe that's why I get so caught up in which model solo to buy. Arrrgh! lol

Hello all,

Today I have officially joined the Solo club, just got mine in the mail and it's charging up as I type haha. I have been reading this forum for a while and I feel pretty well educated on the Solo, but when I got mine I was thrown for a loop. I know the different models for Solo (M104.M105,M106,M107,M1D, and whatever other versions), but my serial number goes M1A. Did I miss something in the forums, or is this a new version or just the same M1D with a different serial number. I'm sure there probably isn't any performance difference, I'm just curious if any others also have this M1A model. I can't wait to pack this with herb and see what all the hype is about!

Welcome L7WEENIE to the Solo club and to FC ,
I've never heard of that one ...yet . M1A
But let's start with does it have a Stainless Steel bowl ?
or is it black ceramic ?
All newer models have the SS bowl .
And the later SS models have better battery life .

Irregardless ,
There have been owners that have enjoyed all the versions .
Hope you do too .:)
Lets us know .

Edit : Welcome also TDA
I purchased mine from Puffitup.com for $ !60 ( Silver )and it's $ 150 for ( Black )
I'm thinking I could have save $ 10 if ordering the Black color model . But the Silver looks more
modern and sleeker . imo

Some have purchased them on Amazon , but make sure they are authorized dealers of the
company(s) or your warranty will be null and void !!!

solo users, do many of you use the direct draw (no water filter) from the solo, and does it irritate your throat?

It really depends on the temperature, if you set it to 2-3 it's not too bad, but I find the upper temp ranges rather harsh, and requires water/ice filtration. Everyone has different tolerances to temperature depending on how worked in their lungs are lol Hope that helps.

Yes to the dry throat ,
especially after a 2 hour R&R session .

I'm currently shopping for a water pipe , maybe even by today , I'll own one .
My local shop might have the GonG adapter that might fit for the Solo also . We'll see .

I bought my last Solos from PuffItUp... they were having an unbelievable sale.
I also would buy a Solo from PlanetVape, or Vapeworld
All 3 of these distributors are our friends, and are authorized agents of Arizer products.

I have M107s (bought from Amazon) both are working well, no funny tastes. I like it so much I got 2!! and in case you are confused about all the different numbers, there is a label on the bottom with a number for each model.

I am with you, I've bought vaporizers on Amazon and have never had an issue. If you choose products that are fulfilled by Amazon they themselves guarantee every sale. I'm a prime member and get everything shipped free second day air. I think it's important to thoroughly read reviews on retailer you buy from. And we also need to keep in mind while on this subject, most head shops aren't authorized either. This of course is aside from the fact that head shops usually charge 50 - 100% more than most online retailers. And to be totally candid, I've bought things from unauthorized retailers and have no problem working with manufacturers as long as I had a receipt and the product wasn't discounted because either it was damaged freight, or it was obtained illegally by the seller I. E ebay stores. This is of course in my personal experience, Vitolo is a man who knows his stuff so I certainly respect his opinion.

I also have trouble with the dry/hot vapor for any length of time. I almost always carry some kind of water piece whether it's the AquaVape for being small and compact, a bubbler/J hook, or a full sized piece, depending on where I am using the solo at. Keep in mind we are going to be seeing some terrific new glass pieces soon from PlanetVape, some kind of mini-hydratube, and new bubblers are in the works, and I hear talk of a possible micro bub/stem combo if it's possible for them to create it, and have it function. If you dream it, it will become reality.

It is SS so I'm pretty sure that means its a newer version. Thanks for the welcome too, this forum has essentially been the deciding factor in my purchase. I must say that I took the Solo for a spin last night with some of my homies and it blew everyone away, literally. They as well as myself couldn't believe the clouds, the taste, the efficiency, and the solid feel that the Solo delivers. As many others I also purchased from PIU for $160, but had some slight issues, but Randy made sure I left as a satisfied customer. Usually I don't really believe most opinions online, but this forum convinced me that the solo would be a worthwhile purchase and it literally has been everything I could wish for in a household vape that's portable. Needless to say, this Solo is really as good as everyone is saying, and I've used a pretty wide range of herbal tools.

I've had good luck with the folks at Puffitup. I actually bought my Solo from their Amazon store a few months back but they no longer deal with amazon. Their website had the Solo listed at $160 with the grinder last I checked.

For dry vapor, I'm pretty comfortable with about 2 bowls at temp 5. If I bump it higher to 6 or vape more than 2 bowls in an hour or so, my throat starts to feel it alot more. I've found the stock Solo stem fits in a 14mm GonG bowl opening perfectly, and creates an airtight seal.

I use a 12" Left Coast straight tube when I want some added moisture when vaping. I wouldn't mind a smaller ashcatcher and whip/j-hook so its a little easier to carry but been too lazy to check for local options.

I know SSFG's small inline bubbler's look awesome, just don't use water as much as I used to, hitting it dry does the trick

Excuse me if this has been heavily discussed, but what do the newer models add to the M107? This amazon $136 deal has me really thinking...

I was thinking of joining the HI waiting list (terrific looking vape), but as long as I still have a DBV, perhaps that particular unit would be redundant.

MFLB, Solo and DBV seems like it covers all bases pretty well.

From what I've read, the M106 to whatever it is currently are basically the same thing. M105 was when the temperatures were set slightly lower, and don't remember the specifics for M104 and previous versions.

As long as you can an M106 or onwards, you're fine. Puffitup has the Solo right now for $160 shipped with a pretty decent quality 4 pc grinder.

For the $136 deal, read up on the last 2 pages, someone posted in this thread about picking it up for that exact same price for an M107. As long you get the unit, 2 glass stems (with 4 holes), and the charger, $136 is a damn good price.

MFLB, Solo, and DBV definitely covers every base.

I think this model number thing has been discussed extensively and yet I'm a bit confused -- Arizer is selling the silver M107 on Amazon for $136, but because there are no detailed photos you can't tell if it's a stainless steel bowl or not. They're also selling what they call "The Newest Solo Portable" in black for $154. In both cases their product description is the exact same, and comes with:

Instruction Manual
Battery Charger
Potpourri Dish
2 Diffusing Tubes (Draw Whips)
Aromatherapy Sample
Is there any reason I wouldn't buy from Arizer via Amazon and save some coin, and why's the black one more expensive? Can we assume it's the M1D?

Well, keep in mind that although they are created by Arizer, they aren't the ones selling them on Amazon.

The first link is being sold by super super deals and the second link by easy vape. That could be the reason why the disparity in pricing.

To add, I'd assume that the black solo is the m1d... At least that's what they're implying. Good luck finding a seller! I'm happy I was able to jump on a sale puffitup had!

Its all about usage...if you pull the stem out every hit or so - it will less harsh overall...if you keep your stem inside it might make vapor more harsh ... I miss water ... it really adds up...

I'm waiting for ever (almost a month) for the 14mm-18mm adapter from PV, I overpaid for it and its not here- I'm very very disappointing ... I'm also moving away in 1 week and I thought this won't happen to me...but it seems like I won't be getting anything and I should try the help from the best community...FC

Must test my solo with HT...

That's interesting ,
The black color one is $ 10 less at Puffitup .
I just thought everyone was buying the Sleeker looking Silver color units , so they had to
drop the price to clear out the black units . Who knows ?
I was told the M1D , M107 , and M108 are all basically the newest models out there .

Not to throw a monkey wrench into this ,
but the sticker with the serial # on the bottom is easily replaceable .

If your looking for a nice bong to use with a vaporizer my recommend is a Soul Shine Family Glass Gridded Stemline which is 130 but easily on par with many other far more expensive tubes. However you by no means need anything that fancy, that's just a really good tube at a crazy good price. If you want something a little closer to budget levels than an EHLE 250 is around 50 bucks and a nice piece of glass as well.

The reason that PV has so many adapters is that there are three common downstem sizes, and the offer both a carbed (small hole for clearing) version as well as a non-carbed version which in my opinion is the best. I don't know what kind of size your going to have, be in 14.4, 18.8 or 29 mm. However, if you buy a 14mm adapter; as well as one of the 18mm to 14mm adapters PV has then you'll have a setup which can match pretty much any bong; the 29mm ones are roor Zumo's and other massive ones which aren't that popular.

I just took apart a friends No2 and removed the board from it altogether(he plugged in his Extreme Q power supply by mistake :bang: )
Anyway on the board it says "version 4"so i would think/hope theres some kind of marking on the arizer boards too,As the sticker on the No2 is the same...

I've spent a lot of time examining the control board and there is very little in the way of information on it. All of the IC's have their serial numbers scraped off and there are no PCB notes on either side. I think that the differences are more tangible than circuitry, as I've noticed the weight differences of multiple generations of solos I've used.

I got the $136 amazon M107 model ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005CXAJHY/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00 ) the other day, it's the same as any solo I have seen, came in the same packaging as my previous solo, same stems, charger etc... I have used it a few times to make sure it works right, all is well, AC adapter and battery functions properly. SS bowl, m107 on bottom. Nothing to be worried about here folks. I am not saying EVERYONE should get theirs this way, but I did, and there has been no issue so far. Same goes for the first solo I bought on Amazon in Feb. It's running strong, and has had no problems. This is only meant as info, to help with the speculation of if it's good or not.
