So, im sitting here CHOKING on clouds of vapor - using my Airizer Solo's Glass on Glass adapter... IN MY HERBALAIRE. Like WTF, this thing is hitting hard - no cruicible, no teflon. Those who own these, I suggest you try this, then give your self a nice slap in the face! Hehe.

(So like the GOG adapter is sittin in my US tube 11 mm glass double tube, and I just set the herbalair over it like it was the solo.)

You know, planet vape could just barely tweak this (make it a tini bit bigger) and it would be custom perfect.

Sounds great! Thank you very much for posting this info, it could be perfect for finally allowing the thing to deliver tasty pure convection hits. Any chance of a short video of the vapor production? Really keen to see how it compares to hollowed out mouthpiece hits...

Nice! So would you say this method increases vapor production with the Herbalaire? You should post a video! Perhaps you can fit the adapter with a silicone o-ring to make is fit more snug with the Herbalaire.

You have to upload to youtube and then embed it here. But if you don't want to use your personal youtube/google account you can just make a new one and use a fake name and upload your cannabis related vids with that account.

Salutations everyone,

Although my own opinion is that glass should come as a basic feature of the HerbalAire, lets keep in mind that this particular vaporizer design built itself a comfortable niche as a result of its relative sturdiness. With stoners around there's enough motive to promote security and it begins with mechanical conception so i wish the manufacturer someday will consider various ways to offer glass solutions while keeping this specific concern in mind. In the case of future HA revisions/personalisations, ideally no glass part should remain exposed without purpose: after all, britleness would defeat the HA's legendary advantage (and hence move it out of its niche somewhat)! Additionally, since there still are people who may get worried at the thought of having intensely heated teflon directly in their air/vapour paths, euh... Why not reduce/eliminate contact surface from synthetic sealing elements in the process?... As far as i'm concerned, relatively to the HA v2.1 (i can't tell for sure about other versions), there appeared to be room for a better defined distinction between the structural role of teflon versus its sealing function anyway.

In practical terms, once installed inside the HA crucible my Arizer Solo glass stems bypass the upper teflon interface and deliver my cannabic vapour to synthetic (teflon/PVC/silicone) items only after enough heat (and goo) has been captured within the first few inches of glass section. It doesn't take much and geometry could be put to contribution (to create some vortex-like heat-exchanger & resin-collector, whatever)... Encasing glass with teflon to protect it and preserve its visual characteristics simultaneously would just make sense to me in that context, glass is great when airflow variations caused by the pump and/or bubbles (in a water-toy) render my vapour clearly visible; the sound (from bubbles) helps to improve inhalation through the feedback loop this creates, not to mention i prefer all dust to stay in a bong... Perhaps in the future HerbalAire could try to account for these matters themselves - and more, for the pleasure of their ever growing base of satisfied customers.

:peace:

My viVape died after 9 weeks of use. I just order a HA (should get it tomorrow) in a attempt to satisfy my bag needs in the meantime. I don't expect much from the whip delivery though. Don't get me wrong,i don't want to replace my vV. I just love my vV and i can't wait to have her back to me in shape. It's just that this event got me to wanting to try the HA. I'm reading this whole thread right now...

Don't sell the whip short, give it a good try. IMO the narrow tube they give you is all wrong, I went to a larger size Silicone tube (one that fits over the outside of the top). The unit itself has excellent temperature control and very little restriction in draw, IMO it does a fine job with a good whip. I seldom blow bags with mine, but often load it up with AVB, bubble (using some of the pad material designed for Volcano) or fresh bud. Does a bang up job on all 3. Neat machine, IMO. My major gripe is the cord is stiff and the unit light so the cord tends to pull it around......and that's pretty minor, really.

I think you'll like it.

Playing with my new toy and i like it a lot! Great vapor taste with the bag delivery!

BUT! I just find out that even if the device was in a box that was printed H2.2 it is indeed NOT! Reading the addendum on the owner's manual i was shocked to see that mine did'nt have the 2 color front led and 4 color bottom led.

Now i'm wondering,is this the only differences between the H2.1 and H2.2? Should i bother and ask a replacement to the online vendor? Or directly to herbalAire?

Oh man... I got the H2.2 because my viVape is on repair and i wanted something to play around with in the meantime. So my question is,did i miss something in the performance of the device? Do the led lights worth it?

Thank you guys for your help!

Obviously the PCB changed as well.

However, I've had a 2.1 which I couldn't work right due to the color issue (and in fact suggested the base LED fix last summer to them for that reason although I suggested a single color one for 'on temperature'). IMO they both do a fine job if you can read the indicator. Unless you want a light show under it of course.

FWIW, I seriously doubt HA ever shipped the old model in the new box. Don't you? My guess is what you bought was reboxed for some reason after the fact?

I'd ignore it if you can use the two color LED on the front, otherwise I think your issue will end up back with the vendor. OTOH, Customer Service at HA is excellent. A combination of poor packing and rough handling had caused my first unit to break loose inside and get the stick on dial pealed up. I didn't want to ship it back for such a trivial issue and after a couple of email exchanges where I convinced them I could replace it without full disassembly they mailed me a couple.

Your call, but no difference in performance I can point to.

Thank you (again) OF for the reply!

My worries were based on the small booklet and owner's manual in the package of the H2.2. The booklet clearly shows the bottom of the device with 4 distinc LEDs with the description ' 4 red leds create a pleasant red glow below base ' but mine only have 1 LED in the middle under the base.

But when i compare the steps on the addendum with the original H2.1 manual it clearly says in the H2.2 that ' The front LED will be a solid red & bottom LED a cool blue,... ' wich mine does. The same steps in the H2.1 don't mention the color blue but the color amber... Also, when i watch reviews of the H2.1 the pump does'nt have the same finish as the one i have.

So my conclusion is that it was a false alarm and that i have indeed a H2.2! Their booklet can lead to misinterpretation though. The picture of the 4 red LEDs on the bottom of the base don't reflect the actual look of the unit.

So i'll return playing with my new toy with peace of mind now! And thank you once again OF for your precious help on the forum...

Sorry to hear about that vivape my man, but I guess that's what happens when a hot vape sits in an enclosed box. Glad to hear your enjoying your new guy though.

To be completely honest though, I did the exact same thing. I thought there were supposed to be two led's on the front and four on the bottom. I totally gapped on the fact they make RGB led's. So don't feel too bad

This happened to me the other night. I just got my Herbal Aire 2.2 this Friday. I had to write t-dub and ask him how many LED lights he had on the bottom of his unit. I was really confused by the sentence int he manual.

2 color front LED – indicates when desired temperature has been reached
4 color bottom LED – showing status or giving off “mood” lighting effects

I was really confused... I thought they meant there are 4 like the number color changing LED on the bottom. Not one (four color changing) led. I kept looking for 2 led on the front and 4 on the bottom.

Turns out I got the 4.2 model was well. I took it for a spin last night. First off I need to applaud them for making the mouth piece seal inside an 18mm down stem. Really this thing offers 4 ways to inhale: whip, bag, direct, and water filtration.

The heat up time was impressive. The results were pretty damn good as well. I must say for the first session I was impressed.

Price point to performance ratio on this thing is fantastic!

I think you're in for a treat, enjoy it. It might not be the absolute best vape, but it does a lot of things really well.

Being true conduction is a big plus IMO. Leaving it idle is not a problem with wasting herb, and if it times out and you don't notice the flashing warning, it's back to temperature in under two minutes, often less than one. It might be nice if it went a little higher in temperature, but that might lead to combustion if guys weren't careful enough.

A good thing to experiment with is pulling a few inches out of the mesh tube S&B sells for the Volcano to use concentrates (two versions, either will work fine). Trim it off with sharp scissors and put a 1/4 or so thick pad in the bottom of one of your crucibles and enjoy hash as well! I like bubble in mine, does a great job.

Also a great way to wring the last of the good stuff from your AVB.

Lots of vape for the bucks for sure. Canadian you know......

I love the HA and use it pretty much daily......but I couldn't disagree more with this statement. The HerbalAire heating chamber and it's little crucible is like an oven -- and if you leave your herb in there it will get baked. It won't combust but you'll have lost most of your vapor and will find it condensed on the insides of the crucible.

Again, I love the HerbalAire, but it's not one you can leave your herb in for long. And given the design (super hot metal all around your herb) I don't see how it could be any other way...

When I medicate I go in another room from my computer and television. It is a separate space. I don't like to sit in there for every long. So I don't really pause in between hits. Ideally I want to take one HUGE hit and move on with my life. Otherwise I chain hit what ever vaporizer I am using until the bowl is cashed as quickly as possible. I don't like sessions that last longer then 10-15 minutes. Ideally a session should last about 1-2 minutes. I tend to like to medicate every hour or two... so if a session lasts 45 minutes I feel like I am spending ALL my time medicating.

I don't often experience stale vapor hits, because I hat the device sitting around too long. I could see though how the metal crucible would create some conduction vapor as the device sat there. I packed away my directions, but I did not notice there being a indication of how long the device waits until it goes in to sleep/cool down mode?

I can see poeple wanting it to go further then 400 on the temp dial. I think 430 seems to be where I expect the temp dial to end... even if I don't push it past 400 it is nice to have the option.

I like the idea of putting a S&B liquid disk inside to use for concentrates/hash.

OK, so I understand what your theory is, but have you ever actually tested it? I have, and just did again and encourage you to try my experiment as well and report your results.

I put a small load in a new crucible and let it sit idle through two 'full blast' sessions. That's what, 40 minutes? I'm not sure, I just let it run. After cool down the herb was, of course, much darker (and fairly uniformly so) as before. But inspection at 45X showed a lot of the trichomes intact. And I didn't notice any real smell coming out while sitting a few feet away.

Putting the load back in, and running it at maximum temperature gave the usual 6 or 8 full hits I'd get from this amount, but the 'first hit' taste was missing. IMO I got normal deliver of the THC loaded.

I think you're right but didn't take your thinking far enough. The THC did indeed condense on the (slightly) cooler spots in the load and elsewhere. It didn't go anywhere, nor degrade. It was still there, awaiting my evil doing. IMO no real penalty for letting it idle within reason.

Unlike the (IMO) similar situation with PD and other log vapes where a forgotten stem still has potency the next day after sitting in the port, HA also offers an automatic power down if you get totally lost. IMO both are handy features.

I agree, I would never let a load of herb sit idle in my herbalaire for too long without hitting it.

Your call, of course. And I too see no reason to and generally don't...but it does happen sometimes. I'm not sure what "too long" is, but if it exists (by my standards, of course) it must be longer that two time outs. That is 'you can't get there from here'? I think the load cools off enough so there's no real harm going on once you stop pulling for a bit. The remaining THC just migrates around a bit.

Glad to see i'm not the only one who got confused! Being unfamiliar with previous models did'nt help for sure.

I like my H2.2 VERY much! What a great machine it is! Completely versatile and efficient. And the price is right too! Who could ask for more? Sure, there's some flaws with the accessories. But there are all easy to fix to each one's needs.

But how come the hA is so low profile? It's been,what,7 years since it's inception? The herbalAire should be as known as any other popular vapes. It is a great product and deserve it's very own place in the market.

It was my very first vape, I think an excellent choice (great value/functionality/durability) and is now my backup. I will always love it and it served me well. Like OF said, it is kind of a jack-of-all-trades master of none (it did everything really well though I never really used the air pump) but it allowed me to experiment, find what I like/need, and when that turned out to be vapor bonging the HA did a fantastic job until I was able to get a VXC. Now, no looking back, but I will always remember my HA with fondness :)

Tried it many times, thanks. The HA is after all my daily driver. Which means than MANY times I have left precious herb in there, and MANY times have noticed that it lost efficiency. OF, I'm wondering, have you ever tried to finish a load quickly? Perhaps you ALWAYS leave it idle for long times, and that is why you're not noticing the efficiency difference.

I'll say again, because of the large amount of conduction going on when this great convection vape is idling, it is a bad idea to leave product in there if you care about efficiency.

fwiw, I also felt the need to "rush" through my sessions, or dump the crucible to my lab fridge to cool the biomass more quickly, lest when you returned what was left was hardly appealing. OF is right in the sense the actives are still there, my HA produced a lot of really nice honey oil, but I prefer the actives make it to my lungs on the first pass if possible, which they do now. ;) :peace:

The HA mouthpiece does indeed create some nice honey oil! And unless vapor leaves the crucible, then I'll agree that the actives are still there. But I've certainly noticed a bit of black buildup on the insides of some of my crucibles. These are condensed actives that have been baked over and over again ..... and they haven't made their way to my lungs. That is, they don't re-vape. I got some fresh crucibles and have noticed that keeping my sessions short also keeps my crucibles nice and clean. All this points to efficiency loss due to conduction when herb is left in there more than a minute or two between hits.
