What would you say is the heat up time difference?
well my friends SSV is usually ready to in 6-8 minutes my VB is up the temp in about 3-4 minutes for my situation the 3-4 minute difference is huge because I sometimes have very short periods of time to take my meds.

P.S. I know heat times very from unit to unit and comparing one VB to one SSV is not a totally fair but these are the results I've experienced.

Thanks rbbrown.

One last question. How does the wand sizes compare, use the same amount for both wands or is their a big difference.

Thanks again.

without having the SSV whip in hand I would have to say they are almost the same.

rbrown, I agree with you 100%. Except replace VB with VW
Believe me the VW was on the short list of vapes I was looking at getting but after emailing vaporstore.com questions about the VW and finding that they wont be made anymore and then talking to people at vapor brothers and hearing the passion these folks have for the product they produce I was sold on VB but I'm sure the VW is awesome in it's own right.

I just bought one of these on ebay (I won) $149 for the new wide body adjustable temp. Seems to retail for approx. $100 more. Ok, so that part is all good. I'll admit that this was somewhat impulsive (I had a gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket) and now I'm a little concerned at the sparse love shown on FC for the KIA. Is it a POS?

I get that you need to add a little screen to the whip to avoid pull-through, or just use another whip that already has a screen. Is that the only significant negative? The sturdy lockable box storage seems cool, but I would prefer it was blank, not labeled "Vaporizer!!!!"

Does anyone have any experience with the latest model of this suitcase vape?

I have one in storage somewhere. It's worth the money. It does its job, and its self contained which is really nice. Mine was just an unlabeled silver box.

Mine was around $100 from ebay, possibly 90, but it's fixed temp.

Check out their accessories. A lot of cool, slightly expensive stuff that i'm sure you can find on ebay.

this guy loves the hell out of his kia. i've been really intrigued with the design and self containment. also how stealthy it looks while not in use. perfect to keep next to you computer/electronics. i would also like to hear more from kia owners. seems like a quality product.

Nope. It's sold by a couple of reputable on-line dealers, as well the manufacturer. The best deal is certainly on eBay (kiamantechnologies), as low as $140 delivered. Considering the easy open/close case, I think it's worth considering at the eBay price.

I'm not sure how easy it is to add a screen if it's not designed for one. I'd be interested in knowing if an affordable wand from another company mates up well with this.

^^^it looks like a standard 18mm connection. if you pack it down a bit [like we used to do in combustion days] and not grind it so fine, i'm sure it wouldn't pull through. but if you are really worried about it, gentleman in the vid i posted above recommends 1/2 inch screens. hopefully he will answer my question soon about the connection joint size.

I have the adjustable one (Kia Kustom) and love it....I had put a screen in the original wand but when that broke I just got myself a Da Buddha wand for the easy screen change. Some of my friends have Da Buddha's and the Kia works every bit as good. The ceramic heating element looks the same or very similar. It heats up quick and gives huge clouds. I am not using it as much anymore as I use the WDZ (for conservation of meds)while I wait for the Cloud.

OC513,
The guy in video says that the instructions say to leave it on for only an hour at a time. That's a real downside next to vapes like the DBV which can be left on indefinitely.

I've seen the video with ol' face tat. Though I'm sure he's "experienced", I can't quite accept his opinion as the final word. I would like to hang out, though. The man obviously appreciates the finer things.

I'm a bit annoyed at kiaman for not providing any tracking or shipping info (or email response). This is the type of item (like double-sided dildoes) that one would prefer to receive discreetly. Without a tracking, this is difficult. Oh well.

I'll give a fresh analysis of the latest model when I receive it. Hopefully it is not a piece of Chinese garbage that will waste my herb before catching fire to my house.

I've had the Kia for a few days now and feel I can give a proper review. It is my first whip-style hands-free type vape, so I can't compare it to the DBV or EQ, but it works great with only a small learning curve.

The wand for the Kia is "screenless" but I've had good success using the little screen that shipped with it. It does move around, but is not a big deal to get it secure. I'm considering picking up some glass screens. I think the daisy style would work well. An optimal fill level is approx 2/3 of an mflb trech. I can only guess at the weight, but the amount is about 1/2 a skinny joints worth and conservation-wise I'd say the Kia and mflb are roughly equal- all light years ahead of combustion as far as effect/amount.

I've accidentally combusted twice, both because of overfilling the wand. I've found that the halfway full point is optimal for conservation/vaporization. The temp control is sensitive and responsive. A slight turn causes the heating element to visibly brighten or cool which allows for a very fine control. I'm still experimenting with this, but my method is to slowly work up to higher temps until the herb is completely spent ( I toss my abv) and also to remove the wand between hits.

The heat-up time is less than 3 minutes and the cool-down time is suprisingly fast. I can have it secured and closed approx. 2 minutes after powering off. Also, the unit does not get dangerously hot during use. After around 45 minutes of on-time, the top of the unit, while hot, can be touched without blisters and swears.

I tried it in my car and it worked quite well, though it would be hard to explain to a curious popo. It certainly isn't as stealthy as an mflb or Incognito, but the fast heatup makes it viable in a car situation. I've paired it with my ssfg travel tube and that was also a success.

All in all, the Kia is a great vape. The functionality of everything closing up in a locked case speaks for itself and performance-wise it meets or exceeds all of my expectations. There isn't much love for it here on FC, but me and ol' Facetat like it fine.

hey hey.......sorry I didnt get back to you on the youtube.......but the GONG connection is same size as da buda or silver surver Glass on Glass connection is 14mm you can use the wand from silver surger or da budda if its the GonG one .........I have used my SSV wand with the kia and it changes up the draw you have to learn how to do proper draw due to his bigger hole the vap draws through......the kia wand is designed in the hour glass shape to control the draw due to no temp adjustment.......hope that helps.....
