So it goes.
Rick I've got nothing but positive vibes for you and wish you the best. But I've got to be selfish for a second. it appears that my redwood vape may have met her maker. It is no longer getting as hot and as of this moment, will not heat at all. this just started this morning and I'm not sure what happened. I'm afraid its the ceramic piece inside. when i move it around i can hear a little movement inside. What do i do? I'm in love with this thing and this is hurting my heart.

I never knew you were such a tease Vito, show us the goods already man
Hehe... sorry, I didn't mean to tease.
Here is my Brand New Zap. I have not used it.. I do not want to make "Mabel" jealous.

What you see with it is a matching mouthpiece on a whip(similarly shaped), everything that comes with a Zap (including an unused can of ZapPolish). To the left you two extra "shorty GonG" stems.. to fit the
Original thick "Plain Glain Glass Tootie" that stands next to the ZapBubbler. Behind it you see an 8 ft cord, with a VV Power Supply. (I never found my Zaps needing a boost!)

Now that I showed off that unused beauty, I have one more unused Zap to brag on....
This is a Walnut "old School Zap. Brand new stems are in front with a "Sassy Brassy" Shorty GonG stem that fits the old..
An original carbed "old school glass tootie sits with the set~

Thanks Rick for all the foggy nights, These zaps will be part of my collection forever!

Woot, you better hang on to those Vito, they might become priceless soon

I stay under 12V with most of my current logs (I'm still experimenting with the Wychwood though), but I use a variable PSU anyways. I can tell by the display if they're working or not so it's partially just comforting reassurance, but I also make minor voltage adjustments depending on which stem I use & on what I put in them (good weed, cheap weed, hash, kief, or a mix of some sort).

Treebeard, do you have another power supply you can try so we can eliminate/confirm that's the problem? If the plug fits & it says 12V and around 0,8A (800mAh) or more you're save to try it. For instance, I have a external hard drive adapter that I can also use and another one from a beard trimmer with the same values & plug.

So I've got bad news about my zap...I was enjoying it before I went to bed and I happened to fall asleep. So somehow in my sleep my log managed to get itself in-between a blanket and a pillow. Long story short my log was left in-between a pillow and a blanket for about five hours. My transformer that it was on is now unusable ( you'll see why in the pictures ). So now I have a zap that's charred on the inside I'm guessing because now the wood that was once a light shade of oak is now darker brown.

I am very upset that this happened but I can only blame myself although I'm heating the log back up now on the AC transformer. I'll let you folks know how it goes. Stay well, everyone...

Edit: Good news is the zap keeps chugging on! Damn, I love this thing. I was shocked when I woke up to this happening but I think that I can accept the darkening of the wood because she still runs just as good as new. Now I just need to replace that transformer plug so I can use the DC again.

Sorry to hear about your Zap accident Pre-Stoned.

You can just cut that mangled plug off & replace it though, they're like one or two bucks on ebay.

You sound like a guy without a soldering iron so I'm just gonna link you these.

Pre Stoned, I was about to reply those Oak units are real tough and it probably came through the pillow event just fine. I'm sure all that heat not being able to escape for several hours will age your Zap a bit but probably nothing serious.
Treebeard, I agree with OTA that you should try another power supply as your first attempt to figure out the no heat problem in your sweet Redwood CRZ. The slight tinkle you hear is probably the heater slightly moving sideways in the central core which is not a problem. The heater is easily replaceable in the CRZ if that turns out to be the problem.

To answer many of you specifically on repairs and vapor stems, transformers and other accessories for Zaps, even advice on problems I have to again repeat that everything Zap related was taken from us on 7/25. All my parts, including small glass beads. All transformers, fixed and variable and related plugs to fix the ends that often just have a wire break. All Zap blocks, including a box of culls I had accumulated, all with cracks or major defects. They also 'removed' both computers with all my shipping software along with piles and piles of bills and paperwork. So I am currently out of business not just for everything gone but also because I will not do anything Aromazap related until/unless we hear back from the people in power.

To be clear for those of you wondering, this is an Idaho issue that was provoked and partially directed by an ex family member who has much to learn about life. Aromazap has been around for 10 years and I was always out in the open about it from the beginning. The big catch was to be a big grow with lots of pot which never happened because someone lied to the State Police.

I also want to say I am going back home. I have been working more on the farm and this last week working with my son in our woodlot. Most of our land is timbered and has been generally neglected for over 30 years. That makes for many areas begging for work and offering us some nice logs for farm income. This plan has been in the works for a couple years but we just started this week. This is my home. I love the woods and the animals and the smell of fresh logging. We of course are very selective and intend to leave all areas park-like when done. Pat even has the "Cedar Grove" which has been untouched for 30 years and will remain that way for our duration anyway.

We have all been so busy, every day. The days are flying by. We just got word again from the Coeur d'Alene Resort they have another full week ahead. "bring us all of everything you have". The entire summer has been like that. The farm is doing very well and our one main customer is finding out we will grow it if they ask for it. Cherry tomatoes and regular tomatoes are about to make massive rainbows on the hill as they are all ripening so nice. Maybe I can get a farm pic or two up this weekend.

It will be a month this coming week from the big Zap steal by countless armed LEO at Howling Hills. The story goes on but for now a gap that we all have to deal with in our own way.
I will try to figure something out for repairs and replacement stems in the meantime.
Still zero news to report on the busted bust.

Treebeard

So it goes.
Thanks Rick and Agony. I plugged "Irene" into another outlet away from the original couple i tried. This room has got a lot of cords and extension cords with multiple plugs. Not sure if this could take away from it but worth a try. Agony, do you mean that this 12V plug could be purchased elsewhere and it would fit in my redwood? I'll get back to you about whether or not she heats up for me.

Edit: She appears to be heating up in the other room. Im hoping this was just a case of me being overly worried about my Redwood. How could you not be? If it doesn't fully heat up or keep its temp i will report back. Thanks fellas

Edit 2: After allowing the Redwood ample amount of time to heat up in a separate room, still no vapor hits. To the touch it seems to be plenty warm. If i remember correctly it feels as though it is the regular temperature. But when i draw on a fresh stem, either the tooty or regular, there is no vapor to be seen. I am looking into another 12v adapter to test the waters. Perhaps this is something that is out of my hands. Any thoughts? thanks

Thanks for the update Rick. It's good to hear you are keeping busy & it sounds like such a wonderful place you have there. I'd love to see some pics if you can find the time

These power supplies are very common Treebeard, if it's broken it's real easy not to mention affordable to get a replacement.

It sounds a bit odd to me to be honest, your problem. I'm suspecting a worn & faulty power cable from your description (sometimes connecting, sometimes not, which could explain why it won't get up to full temp), but the wall adapter could perhaps be half dead as well. I suspect you don't own a multi-meter, do you have an electronics store close by that could check it for you perhaps? Or don't they do things like that in America-land?

There is no weird metallic taste from your non-vapor hits btw?

It doesn't sound like the Zap itself is broken to me, but I'm no log vape maker of course, perhaps I'm missing something.

Things are looking up again over here with my Redwood. Pre stoned came over to my humble abode and let me borrow his old ac adapter and she worked! After a trip to radio shack (slightly dazed) I picked up a new 12v adapter which appears to be very sturdy. Irene is back in action and hitting like I know her to. Thanks OTA and Rick for guiding me through my first log mishap. Nothing a stem can't take care of. Cheers :goat:

BlissSville has ONE RockZap left.
This is the one they have left, below--
imagephp.jpg

They will send SS tipped Nylon Stems... although it comes with an "Ed's"
There are two brand new RockZaps around.
One of them is at BlissSville!

.. the other?

I spoke with Ariel bout a week ago and think the one was all they had, they dont have any of stems extra. They sent all those back to me last week due to not having anymore Zaps and not carrying them anymore. I too am gonna get out of the Zap stems and have everything marked down in them for whats left so if you want em get em before they are gone, I wont be doing anymore.

Rick I have been checking this thread often for updates from you and am hoping and praying for the best for you all. I gotta believe the longer this goes without any changes is good for you. Would think that if they really had anything on ya they would have pushed to get the ball rolling by now. With time am sure this will just all go away.

Good luck Rick and know how much I have appreciate you in the past and your friendship, thanks for all you have done for me!

that farm sounds wonderfull, have you ever thought about making a foodforest? that's somehing I still want to do someday(but first I need my own land and a position where I know I will live there for a long period/forever so that it has enough time to grow)
all my tomatoes are still green, but I'm getting a slight overload of brocolli and endive(I have 5 endiveplants, 4 of wich are ready to be harvested again for a while already, and my brocoli are now all making heads and I have to eat them before they bolt)

I ordered that Zap from Blissville and the order appears to have completed but they still list the item on the site. I wonder if they actually have any. Thanks for the Ed's TnT tipoff; I have a couple of Eds walnut/brass stems and ordered an Amboyna burl stem just now. I have always liked the figure on those in the pics so now I'm getting one while they are available and discounted.

hello, guys. i have been reading the past pages here and it saddens me to learn about all that is happening to you, rick, and zapville in general. i am here to express my support, and to also voice a concern: tonight, before loading a new stem, i noticed a strange smell, almost like burning coming from my zap. i thought it might have been some herbs stuck on the screen on the zap, but after inspecting it, the screen was clean. when plugged in, if i put my nose to the heatport of the zap, i can notice the smell. there is no other way for me to describe it other than it smells like something is burning. the smell seemed to disappear when i let the zap cool for a few minutes unplugged, but when i plugged in the power adapter again, let it heat up a little, and drew air through an empty stem, the smell seemed to come back. i am very confused!

edit: and worried!!

Is the heater loose? Does it shift around inside? I have a brass zap where the heater is a bit loose. It moves around and apparently chars new bits of the inside, so I get some charring smells. Still functions ok. Guess I need some C clips.

Thanks Vito, I just ordered some of those clips. Not sure if I ordered 5 or 25 but it cost about 6 bucks! And I just got a note from Blissville with a tracking number for the OaK Rockzap. Yay!

some weed probably fell into the holes around the center for airflow. it's happened a few times with my vape. little pieces of weed fall in there and they end up touching the heat port and stuff and it burns. try gently shaking your vape upside down, and try blowing into it. sometimes the weed will get stuck to it, and it just have to burn off.

@gunky no, the heater isn't loose or anything. haha, if it was i wouldn't even know how to fix it, so i commend you for your purchase of the c clips and the knowledge of how to use them!

@steathgrower i think you may be right. when the unit is completely cooled there is no smell. and even when it is heated up, there seems to be no smell. when i draw from it with an empty stem the smell starts to appear. i already blew air into it, but i will try again. i hope that's the problem! i guess i'm not used to smelling my stuff combusting and took it to be my baby zap
