Thanks for your replies and advices! I've already ordered new wand, tube, and heater cover.
But it's really a good idea from vaporbrother to make thoses parts in ceramic, i hope 7 floor will do the same!!. So i'm waiting the postman with my ss coil&bong (ouch!!)

I own the ceramic set from Vapor Bros.
In my opinion it is not good at all. The "easy change" setup, leaves you with more things to take apart and clean... and the parts must be set "just so"
The ceramic screen is a joke, that requires you use an additional screen to keep running clear.
My SSV and DBV wands are far superior in every way.

I've found Vape bonging the DBV is extremely effective, very smooth and a pretty quick affair. But, it's too awkward imo. :/

Hello everyone.... i have had my DBV for at least 3 years and i still love it to this very day. But after all this time i never had and good hash in my possession till hopefully later today (my guy said he has some and put a g on the side for me). the last time i had hash was well before my conversion to vaping. the last time i either smoked it by pressing two hot butter knives together or making a "salad" of herbs and hash in a bowl and combusting it.

so i feel kinda silly after all this time having my DBV asking this question, but i will anyways... can i use my DBV to vape this hash??? if it is possible, do i do it alone or do i have to make a herb-hash-herb sandwich in the bowl??

A bed of ABV will help this be a success. The hash alone will after a number of stirs become messy, and will clog things.
The bed of ABV will allow as you stir between hits, for the hash to crumble, and start mixing with the abv which will provide a nice medium for it to vape on and within.
Some use fresh herb as a bed, but I do not .. to keep flavors pure.

Reading through this thread has been very educational. I'm very new to vapes and I bought this one based on a few recommendations from people I trusted.

I am in LOVE with this thing. I can't really say anything that hasn't been said, but I can tell anyone on the fence that it's a fantastic device. There's a learning curve of course, and I'm still going through it. But luckily there's enough awesome owners that with a good search engine and some time on their hands, I'm confident anyone can enjoy this thing.

Still loving my DBV; actually I like more as time goes by. Once a week or so I hook the DBV to my bong, add ice, and then enjoy.

I have not combusted since the day I received it (only about 3 months ago), but I can say with certainty that I am done with combustion.

Scraped and cleaned my wand for the first time yesterday and I have to say that I am very impressed with the quality of the wand hash.

I would have never considered a bong setup, but I saw in this thread how easy it is to do I'll have to try it. Still working on finding that perfect "Sweet spot" without the bong but when I do I plan on enjoying that.

hey guys just a quick question, is the heating element supposed to bob around a bit? just unboxed it and when you shake it you can kinda hear the element bobbing around.. and if you touch the element it just isnt tight its kindve loose and moves side to side, i dont want to touch it that much, just wondering if thats normal?

Hey guys about a week in I'm still loving my DBV. It does exactly what I need it to do. I got a good deal on it at my local head shop and I feel its been worth every penny and then some. I most likely will never smoke in my home ever again.

I have a few minor questions to pose to experienced users of the DBV:

1) My whip keeps falling out of the wand once everything is heated up. Any common solutions to this problem?

2) The instructions say it's safe to leave on if you're looking at a several hour session. I guess this would be useful once the user obtains their optimal settings. Do you guys leave it on? I don't because I'm thinking it'll keep the unit alive a little longer. I don't know much about electrical engineering or anything, just using some basic logic there. Plus it just seems an unnecessary risk to leave any heating element on when you don't need to.

3) How fine to you grind your materials? I'm still experimenting. I mostly use a normal hand grinder and pack it down to about 1/4 of the bowl part of the wand. I tried some fine ground earlier but wasn't as into it. The air flow wasn't as good. My buddy was telling me that it doesn't matter because it all heats evenly. But I'm thinking the heating is one thing, but the airflow is probably just as crucial to vaporization so you'll want to find a grind that is "just right" so to speak. Not too coarse, not too fine.

In my opinion, it helps when passing. It's not unsturdy, and you could theoretically tighten it but I trust what theyve manufactured. I've seen a few, all were loose, some more than others but no hit difference.

This is my daily driver at home, though it does pack a good amount killing my conservation...

But then i make oil and put it into capsules :)

  1. I stir my bowl and pull out the wand to clear the tubing of vapor between every hit. Insert want and gently twist the wand and it will somewhat lock into place. I have a folded towel under my unit just in case the wand falls out, which it has on one occasion, so far.
  2. I leave mine on from about 5:00 pm to about 10:00 pm. In between sessions I just turn the heat down all the way but not off. I am more concerned about the switch malfunctioning over time than the heating element.
  3. I grind like you, by hand. However, I will grind it in the bowl after the first 3 or 4 hits. I generally fill my bowl about ½ with a very gentle packing.

This, for the most part. The heat up/cool down probably causes the most stress on the actual heating element. The switch will probably wear more than the element. Seventh Floor has kept original DBV's and SSV's on 24/7 with no issues.

On another note, does anybody know how to keep the whip from smelling up the place? I store it in the provided bag, but I can *definitely* smell the whip whenever I am near it. I just cleaned the thing a week ago as well... :/

Hi FC!

I have been the happy as SHIT owner of a black DBV for about 2 1/2 years now, and have loved every day of it!

I am not a medicinal user nor in any need of conserving my stash... so all I am after is pulling out big, fat, juicy vapour hits :)

I have connected my DBV to a little hand held bubbler most of the time, but occasionally will connect to a bigger piece... I find that a smaller bubbler fills thicker than a larger bong.

Pictured is my DBV as well as an original Tommy Chong Bong (http://imgur.com/a/8dPxs)

My SSV & DBV have been on 24/7 for 2 years
I have used the same tube for two years and only recently changed it.
I cleaned it daily like this
The two year old tube that I replaced was cleaned like this daily.. and although stained it does not smell!

I have in the past offered to send this two year old SSV/DBV tube to anyone for inspection.... nobody has taken me up on the offer. Meanwhile, I still have it as a spare.

yeah my DBV stays on for hours and sometimes days at a time. i try not to leave anything on or even plugged in when im not home, but when i get home its on until i go to sleep or remember it the next morning.

these things will run forever.

I may try leaving mine on more as opposed to turning off and on....what was mentioned about that putting the most stress on the heating element makes sense...

VisiblyVaped,
When I used my DBV I kept it on 24/7. When not in use I would just turn it down but not completely off. Because IMHO the dial will wear out quicker then the element.

Mine is usually set up and running 24/7 as well, unless I have a reason to put it away, it doens't

Hey DBV Users!

I am a clumsy fool, and have gone through three wands so far...

That being said the first two were identical, but with the newest one there is something different!

It seems that the good folks at 7th floor have redesigned the bowl piece where your screen sits. Where as in the past it was solid glass with a little hole i the middle (sort of like on a glass pipe) now the screen sits on a thin lip and you get WAY more airflow through it!

HUGE IMPROVEMENT IMO!

Edit: Ooops, sorry about the double post...
