Ploom say 2 hours of constant use and 1 hour to charge, and I think that's pretty accurate. The cell inside is a C18650CC: datasheet a chinese 2600mah. If you're handy & can solder you could bump that up to a little under 3 hours of constant use by using a NCR18650B, a japanese 3400mah cell:

I think we're pretty close to the dark blue line, the Pax draws less than 1.3A

I am not too bad with a soldering iron so this is possibly a solution ;) Im assuming something like this would void the warranty? Have you ordered one of theses batteries for yourself yet?

Just went to VW to but the Pax and was a little sad. My #1 and #2 color choices (Purple and Black) are now out of stock! Blue will ship on the 20th!

I wanted to wait a little longer to see a few more reviews and make sure it works for more than a month but this thread made me throw all caution to the wind, but now that they are out of stock, maybe I can wait a little longer. :D

Just an update - I worked it out with Vapeworld. They called me directly and helped me out!

NO FIRE FOR YOU!!
@sessnet: if you feel strongly that you've been deceived, you can always call the credit card company you paid through and chargeback that transaction (if VW doesn't agree to refund your charge first, that is). Totally understand your frustration, what a bummer.. :(

Thanks! But, you know it's a hassle, I would rather buy another one right away so I can have it for this weekend. Checking Vaporstore-any other places?

...yeah man sessnet....you could have just ordered it from ploom themselves...

I checked earlier and it still says pre-order :/

I ordered one from http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=1624

The wire terminals are spot welded to the battery so they would need to be broken and the new cell would have to be attached, I was thinking with a bit of conductive epoxy. So even if you put the old battery back it would be glued not spot-welded, but I'm thinking about going for it; my battery came flashing red and even though it charges in an hour I don't think it lasts two hours... it's always flashing yellow and red at me...

True that. I did want it by this weekend, but I guess that's my problem. On Ploom's site it says "anticipated" shipping 8/15.

Anyhow, now I can't buy it elsewhere because I don't have enough money, so I guess vapeworld gets the last laugh!

Guess im in the same boat then. When I ordered this morning, it said in stock for sure. now I see it says 8/20 on there. sigh.

I'm not in a hurry but if I knew I was going to have to wait, i'd have waited for black. So im a little ticked. If they actually do ship on the 20th thats fine with me but if i needed it soon like u id be a pissed too.

my mouthpiece is also sticking quite often, even after frequent cleanings. I carry around a paperclip taped to the pax now so that in travel situations I have something to pry/pull the mouthpiece up and out of the body with. Would love to play with a different new model in a store to see if it feels any different too, etc. :)

my mouthpiece is sticking too. i've cleaned the vapor path well and this doesn't seem to affect the sticking of the mouthpiece. as i feared before buying this, i feel the mouthpiece tube going over top of the vapor path in the body leaves and area that is pretty much completely inaccessible for cleaning. i suspect this is the area getting buildup and will soon cause my click mouthpiece button to fail.. anyone reach out to ploom/know a solution for this issue?

Hmm that sounds like a tempting idea! Let me know how yours turns out and what kind of batter life you are getting!

How come after it is ready and green, after I take a hit it will change colors to the temp color, and then I shake it, it goes back to purple and starts heating up again????

Wasn't like this the first night I got it.

Mine was doing this as well, it has seemed to stop now, not really sure what the issue is with this. Maybe something to do with the connection the mouthpiece is making?

I also noticed during my earlier use that my pax almost instantly because harder to draw, almost like it became clogged with something, anyone else have this happen to them? When I first got it, it was very smooth, now I'm starting to see what people could have been saying with the strenuous hitting

i agree that pax gets more difficult to draw on as you've done more ovens. once you clean it you'll see why! the "screen" just only allows air to go around the edges of the oven. once those edges get some buildup then airflow slows.

i dont understand why the oven "screen" is textured at all. its impossible to get all its little grooves cleaned and soaking in ISO doesn't get it looking minty fresh.. I'd rather just have a piece. also in regard to cleaning it is damn near possible to get the edge of the oven near the vapor path fully clean. it took me probably ~20 mins of scrubbing with ISO soaked pipe cleaners and qtips. i finally gave up leaving some discoloration on the metal. for anyone with the pax that hasn't cleaned it - clean it now!

i'm going to clean mine some more in hopes of freeing up the button action (although not sure what can be cleaned in regard to this). i plan to reach out to them tomorrow if i can't improve the button through cleaning. like i said on previous posts, you can't clean around where the button mechanism is located...

Greetings all!
Firstly, thank you all for the info on the Pax! Your personal exp. with this has convinced me to pull the trigger on one a.s.a.p.
Couple quick questions for the group.....
First, how effective would the Pax be as a cigarette substitute? Seems like it would work wonders on my "oral fixation".
Second, can anyone recommend a good place to buy tobacco online?

Thank you all in advance!

P.s.,
For those of you in MMJ states, please remember your Brothers and Sisters still living under marijuana laws that the Nazis would be proud of. As long as any ADULT lives in repression, the fight is still on and we need your help. Free people kicked the shit out of Nazis once and with a concerted effort we WILL do it again.

STAY FREE!!

The Pax absolutely REQUIRES stirring in order to evenly vape your herb. In my experience I've found that each oven load needs to be stirred around 4 times before you get everything out of it.

Edit: I don't want to be rude, but if you don't want to stir, you bought the wrong vape. Take a hard look at the Inhalater. Great performance, discreet(after removing the stickers), and no stirring required.
I strongly disagree with that statement. I never stir my Pax and the bowls are pretty consistently vaped. I could probably get 2-3 more hits from stirring it once, but I get such satisfaction from tapping out a brick of ABV and tossing it aside that I don't bother. Besides, who spends $250 on a portable device and expects to carry around their own stirrer?

I spent this past weekend camping with my Pax, and I'll most likely make a post about it tomorrow. For what it's worth, I liked it so much that it's just now occurring to me that since I got home this afternoon I've continued using the Pax, and my beloved Solo is sitting cold in my desk. I suppose that she's gotten the message that from now on, she'll have to share me. I also RMA'd a Pax last week, and might make a post about that, too.
