I wonder how quickly the police would return your possessions once the local news catch word of what they did and how they handled the situation. There was never a grow op or a distribution operation, and there was no evidence of that apart from hearsay, and yet they drop over swat-style over intel that they obviously did not look into properly to take your property.

aero18, you bring up an interesting fact of life about our world today. The world has changed because we can communicate so quickly and efficiently now days.
Public outcry about what happened to us and why(a woman scorned) could become a reality some day but that will depend on how this plays out. It is 'their' move now, the ball is in their court. We stay down and quiet until we hear what comes next. We still may be that way but it is a fact that Rick is a doer. They have me down right now which hurts because I am a person who acts or reacts depending on what the day brings. I do not sit back and watch life go by. I get involved as needed to make my life better for my family and me. Thankfully, Howling Hills Farm is going gangbusters. The cherry tomatoes have started. 200 plants all trellised up for good growing and picking. Each picking is almost double the last. So we are very busy with 'good' work to do. We must pick every other day or they will get ahead of us.

You all should know what you hear from me with my sometimes down moods these days is temporary and is passing even though the situation has not changed. There is a real Lion in me that has been waiting to roar for years about alot of subjects. If this event turns into a dirty deal for an honest hard working family, the world will know about it very quickly. There could even be a new era for Aromazap with the publicity that could come from such a battle. Rick and Pat will not make Aromazap as I told you all the day before we got busted but AZ could get some major publicity.
It is up to 'the man' now so we sit. The 'man' already knows about the quality, integrity and tenacity of our lawyer who they meet first. They have not met me yet, not the real me. I can grab a big star in the sky if needed for help at any time.
Not only do we have the support of all you fine FC folks but we also have something intangible. We have alot of 'blue sky' in our corner. Only if needed though.
Some day I will tell you all about a life long dream I have had relating to this same subject. A dream that keeps bouncing in and out of my head. Aromazap also started as a dream.

I spoke with Rick and Pat over the year many, many times.
Every conversation was filled with the fact that they were getting out of AZ because of their age and grandkids getting older. I wonder why nobody involved here heard this!

Rick, i just again wanted to say thanks for the outstanding service you have provided to me and everyone else. i really hope things go as smoothly as possible with this whole mess.

Quick question for the zap folks; can I safely soak the shorty GonG stem with a SS tip in some reclaim-ISO for a couple of hours, or is that not recommended? Also, can I remove the tip from the plastic for cleaning or would that loosen it up to much over time?

I have soaked all my stems in ISO and have never had any problems.

OTA, you do not want to take out the SS tip from the nylon stems for cleaning, however, you can take out the screen.

I never remove any part of stem... soak it in iso... then run hot water through in both directions, and vacuum it dry.
If you do remove the SS tip, do it slowly and evenly so as not to wear the nylon more than needed... like Mom says, it will loosen over time if you are rough.

Cool, thanks all. I did get some spare screens with it, but I'll probably won't change it until it's completely broken. That little spring clip looks way to tiny for any tools I've got

I won't separate the tip from the nylon either then. I already happened to clean it once exactly like Vito described & I see no need to remove the screen for cleaning after that.

To use the screen repair kits..... if you take the tip off... you can use the retaining clip and screen exactly as it came when new.
to execute a repair without removing the nylon from SS tip (this is preferred) just remove old screen, and remove old retaining clip (by force.. just yank)...then use a dowel to insert the new screen from the tip .. until it is flush. Repairing this way eliminates the clip and also the separation of the tip from Nylon.

I've also found that cleaning the stems often eliminates a lot of the build up problem on the screens.

I think I need to clean it at least once a week with my kind of use mom. I don't have a CRZ btw, unfortunately. But it works pretty good with my HI as well

I actually clean mine a few times a week. I have a little travel bottle with ISO in it. I use a stem a few times and then pop it in there overnight and use one of the other ones I have. By morning, it's clean as can be. Overkill, but they never gunk up.

I keep mine clean during use by scraping the screen carefully in between hits (I always dump the load after a hit to stir my herb) with my SSV pick & blow it out hard when a bowl is down. By that time it's usually so dry everything simply comes out. The first time I cleaned it was mostly because it got a little sticky & started to smell stronger.

If I knew I'd like this stem so much I would have ordered more though.

My dispensary carries a number of ice waxes and similar extracts. Have you tried these things? Usually amber or dark, insanely sticky stuff. I have found that a small bead of wax stuck on top of a zap stem load melts down into the load on the first draw and then goes and goes merrily for a long time without reloading.

I've used pretty much everything in a AZ stem. Kiev, wax, hash, oil, etc. Like Gunky I mix sticky stuff with ground herb. I usually make little lollipops by getting a small dab and rolling it around in the herb and scraping it off "into" the stem. This does get my stems, um, gunkier (sorry Gunky) but an soak in 99% ISO cleans 'em right out. Make sure you rinse and dry the stem really well or you'll get ISO in your first hit :barf

in 2 years i've never once dropped my zaps, now in 1 day i've dropped my favorite log twice!!! arrrg.
so, now there is a very audible rattle when i move it and when i put a stem in, the whole top part feels very loose. other than that, it still produces nice clouds... do i have anything to worry about?

Yeah you do. Gotta get some c-clips to put in there and tighten it down, cause if you don't, it will get worse, and that's not a good thing.

my old myrtlezap which is now my brothers i neglected to add any additional internal rings for a long time. it's got two in it right now, needs a third maybe even a fourth added. it's loose as hell, but it still functions just as well.
it also seems to have gotten so loose now that the wood stays almost completely cool to the touch. i think it's banged around so much that the core no longer touches the edges of the wood at all.
like i said though, still works great! i think it's 3-3.5 years old.

Replacing a screen is very easy and the retaining clips aren't really necessary. A bamboo skewer gently nudges it in place and you know when it's secure by feel. Ultimately I find this to be the best way to clean a stem. To that I may at some point invest in a properly sized hole puncher.

Use a bud Vase with 91% Iso!

Keeping stems clean is a must. Don't be lazy like me and let them gunk up, soaking in alcohol seems to stop working when there's too much build-up.
