Sneezing when vaping?

Is it just me or sometimes when you blow vapor through your nose it tickles your sinuses and causes a sneeze? Post your thoughts.

Good weed has always made me sneeze somehow. Weather I vape it, smoke it, or just handle large amounts of it.

Yeah, I have the same problem, so I never exhale through nose anymore. It's instant sneezing forsure. I also depending on the strain will get watery itchy eyes and sneeze too, but it hasn't happened in a while. I'm allergic to trees and grass (not horribly) so I assume i'm allergic to cannabis as well. No big deal lol

It's not just you, but it's not everyone either. My :2c:- don't inhale or exhale vapor (certainly not smoke) through your nose. You don't want to fuck up your 'smeller' with a coating of condensed vapor. The sneezing, IMO, is a message from your nose to 'spare me'.

I often blow out the first hit trough my nose, since my sense of smell is often not so good so that way I hope to still taste the vapor, but doesn't work always
it makes me sneeze sometimes, but only soetimes, randomly.

Just for the record, I don't mind the sneezing myself. It feels kinda liberating to be honest, just like a good yawn every now & then.

It made me sneeze too. It's why I stopped, along with other problems caused by vaping - mainly sinus blockage.

same here, it also doesn't happen often(once a week? just a guess), but if it does my nose feels clearer

You stopped vaping completely for good? I have the seem issues as you with sinus blockage. I've been cannabis free for 3 weeks now and I can't even BELIEVE how easy it is to breathe!

Hey Delta9, I too have hayfever and various allergies to environment and found that water filtration helps immensely. You can order one online from many sources inc. ALT.

Delta, I believe I have a good grasp of what's available here in the EU. Feel free to shoot me a pm with your wishes & budget if you want some pointers.

I'm not sure if water filtration would be helpful with hay-fever though. Isn't hay-fever caused by pollen? If so I don't think that's it, unless you vape male plants as well perhaps.

ohtheagony the water filtration is to stop the irritation of the hot vapor not hayfever, i just said i have hayfever so you would know that i have easily irritated sinus, i have a mflb and have drilled a little hole in the side of a short stem so i draw fresh air with the vapor ,i got the idea from the vapbong as you draw fresh air with the vapor and it makes it cooler and more tolerable, i have done something similar with a log vape stem to use with a woodez, i have a wispr and it totaly dry my head out, i would like a bubbler like the vapor brothers or the aqua vape.

Ah, gotcha. I misunderstood then.

Yeah, I only vape through water at home ever since I've first tried it. I do feel I loose some taste & possible actives, but it makes it so much easier to take big hits. I also do it the visual aspect that comes with though, it can be a great help getting the most out of your vapes and herbs just to see the condition of the vapor that you're pulling.

THC is an expectorant. It should cause you to sneeze if it gets in your nasal passages.

I Vapes Hard
When I first started vaping I also felt this. Even if I didn't exhale thru the nose, if some vapor rises up and hits the nose, it would give me a burning sensation, similar to eating wasabi or smelling ammonia, which sometimes caused sneezing. This seemed to pass as I vaped more. I also got this feeling the first few times I took a dab of concentrates.

I too would get that burning/wasabi/ammonia sensation! (great analogy btw) :)

However, I just very recently tried exhaling out the nose after years of vaping because for some reason I thought it would get me higher and break through my tolerance. Well it didn't, but it did make me sneeze like crazy, but usually it's just nose exhalations that cause that. Typically i'm good, but once in a while some stains will make me severely allergic, however I attribute that to handling the plant, kif, etc. and then not washing my hands and maybe scratching my nose, face, eyes, whatever. From time to time i've even seen allergic type welts/hive on my arm, and I know it's from the plant contact.

Solution, I was my hands like crazy after handling, and have a separate towel for drying just for this purpose.

Yes, I never really got started tbh, due to the problems I experienced. I may try again using a herb iron in the future if I decide to purchase one.

I'm totally sneezing too, even when exposed to the raw material. I get seriously clogged sometimes, particularly when I breathe a lot of second hand vapor. Seems like the small particules gets in my nose and irritate my respiratory system.
Water filtration and opening the window when you vape helps a lot
I try to minimize the vapors passing in my nose, particularly when I hit high temperatures

Not to completely dismiss what other members have posted, but in the past I have found that the irritating feeling in the nose and throat when vaping is actually caused but improperly cured cannabis, IMO. Vaporizing really shows how well a certain flower was grown and cured. I have come to the point where I can basically just look at a batch of cannabis and be able to tell if it will be irritating to the nose and throat, or not. When vaporizing, there should not be any discomfort on the inhale or exhale, and if you do experience discomfort, chances are the cannabis simply was not grown or cured correctly, IMO.

Either that or your temp is too high and/or you're not vaping through water. The #1 thing that irritates my airways are not dry vapour, or particulate, but rather the searing heat. BTW, forgive my ignorance as i'm not even sure I know what "curing" is, I always assumed moisture content, but I know it's not that. Regardless, I get all my medicinal from reputable companies or clubs that have top shelf products, i'm just never sure if they are properly cured or not and I always assume that they are. I keep everything in glass mason jars, and open to burp them once in a while, is that what is meant by proper curing? What I do know is that out of all the strains I received, they could all use maybe more drying for vaping purposes. I just never know how long to dry them for, and always forget.

Yes, I forgot to add that the temperature can also have a significant role in irritation, IMO. But, if the cannabis is grown correctly, there really should not be much irritation at all, if any, IMO. Just like with combustion, if a certain cannabis is grown correctly, even a smoke hit can be inhaled as smooth as butter...

hot vapors do not play well with my throat... so either low temps or hook it up to the piece.

That definitely doesn't apply to me. The only thing a smoke hit causes is an automatic reaction to HEAVE. lol But maybe it's just me :)
