Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

Not a knock on the cloud whatsoever, but just a simple observation in my own personal use over the last 2 months since getting the cloud and my use went up, as my did my tolerance. The Cloud is extremely efficient but not even close to efficient as a solo or probably log vape i'm guessing. Tiny amounts in the cloud yielded pretty whispy hits ime and that's to be expected.

I wonder if this is because yours runs a little cool. Mine extracts small amounts on par with my PD.

Hmmm .... My experience too!

Not that that's a huge problem ... I never pack less than .15 ... And that's rarely enough I prefer .2-.25 ...

How does it run cool when I get vapour at 7 and dark chocolate at max? noon is a sweet spot just like intended. I think it runs bang on....not hot like many report...using it at 9 for "big" clouds? And not cool like some reported "barely" getting clouds at 3:00, so I think mine fortunately is perfect.

I notice with the Volcano, I was filling very often - trying to get another small amount in. With the Cloud, the sessions are fewer and further between; but seem to do the trick even better than before.

For me, it's a saver.. I could see how someone could love using it so much, however, and go the other way.

Regarding drag- where someone said the tree had less than the dome.

You may be right. I was going from memory and what I thought SM had told me, but it would hardly be the first time that I got something backwards. :D
As another member noted, drag can vary from one brand/model/design to another, but of the original three offerings from the company (2 trees and a shower dome), the trees had a little more drag, although I seriously doubt that anyone decided that any of 'em had too much or too little. sm's opinion was that the differences were minor, in other words not likely to even be noticed by anyone other than maybe a glass collector or someone who had both designs to compare, A to B.

I must have gotten lucky, my first ELB fits well in my cloud, but when checking some of the others, I am finding some won't even go 1/2 way, and I don't want to force them. I tried all of my spare adapter male 18mm joints to see if they would fit to train them, but none of the ELBs will fit in my adapters, the holes are all too small. Any other ideas on how to train these other ELBs so I don't mess up my cloud trying to get them in there?

When SM alerted us to the over-sized ELB problem, IIRC he said don't push too hard, it's OK if the ELB doesn't go all the way into the joint, and that VXL is keeping a list of those who received these ELB's and will replace them upon receipt of a new shipment. (I don't recall whether or not a Support ticket is reqd to get on that list.)

On a diff note, how is the Cloud doing with your DG mini? How would you compare the DG with the HT? (And does that DG have much drag?).

Some input...thus far I used the cloud 5 times... 4 times I used it with the HT and once with the EQ Cyclobowl ...

I put it on noon and wait 15 mins... the ABV is as dark as the EQ when its on 200C but I always felt like the EQ gets even hotter...
For morning sessions I should really start lower lol...but anyway, the vapor quality is really amazing...the thickness of the vapor is no second to any vaporizer ... this is intense as fast... I can't wait to try some hash with it and see many many clouds of vapor...
It might feel like I get less vapor but only because each vapor is much more condense...

Using it with the whip was ok, I wonder if its possible to do a small water perc (size of the cyclobowl) and then connect it to a whip? that would make the cloud more flexible and still have water filtration ...I know I really need one like that...anyone else can recommend a GONG for cloud that I can connect a whip to?

oh, and using the whip makes the cloud whistle ... lol ;)

It's possible, I've used 2 bubblers via a whip. Top of the Cloud, a female/female 90. Attached either a Q elbow or a 90 whip adapter (the elbow adds some drag). The other end of the whip, shortened to 24", GonG into the bubbler. Frankly, I wasn't very pleased. The whip adds quite a bit of drag. Connecting the Cloud directly GonG, my small inline chugs and pulls a bit hard, so I was already kinda disappointed in it. My inverse showerdome mini can, hits very nice and big if directly attached, but again adding the whip results in a lot of drag. (I should add that the drag from the Q whip is a lot more noticeable now after using the Cloud, so my perspective has changed.) Surprisingly, the Cloud at 10:30 and the whip alone, no glass, is smooth and easy; I can leisurely sip. So so far at least, I'm not thrilled using glass + whip, and while the particular glass of course definitely makes a big difference, I very much prefer a direct connection. :2c: YMMV.

SM,

Have the "new" ELBs arrived yet? I want to order a pack of four but don't want to chance buying the tighter fitting ones.

Thank you.

To add to the temp/ABV/dial discussion, I usually run the Volcano at 370. I find that ABV with the Cloud is similar when set at about 8:00. Maybe a little darker even.

yeah, I was thinking about getting rid of my EQ but thus far I feel like I prefer the EQ with whip and the cloud direct ... its just too good.

Hahaha, yeah people were saying I should sell my EQ since I just got it on Tuesday and already bought a Cloud. But I can't. I can see the use for the EQ. I have a feeling I'll be using both. The EQ for long drawn out sessions, and the Cloud for quick rips. :-)

Edit: I haven't even tried the bags yet with the EQ. Just the Vapor Whip.

Edit: I assume it still doesn't come with that crazy awesome storage packaging (someone mentioned it came in bubble wrap now). I just saw the picture on Vaporpedia. That storage box looks awesome.

If you read the text next to the pictures, it explains that they had to drop the plans for the box. I haven't removed the pictures because you're right, it is gorgeous packaging and I hope they reach a point where they can start using it.

Never ever underestimate the need for a backup. Everyone needs at least two vaporizers.

Tree percs usually have more drag than the typical Circ. Just looking at their design will tell you that the air flow has to go through each arm with smaller bore to clear as appose to the circ's openness.
I went with a 7-9.5mm arm tree so to minimize drag and less fizz. They have a nice sound.

The HT has a more even and less turbulent pull, has basic diffusion so more taste, looks more interesting. Mine are 100% American made quality but still due to their nature theyre arguably less durable.
The HC is more chuggy and splashier as it stacks more bubbles but slightly more diffusion with 16 slits so a touch smoother, has simple clean look, easier to clean. Also made in shop.

Like those guys said...the differences I listed is awfully minor...it is like going to the buffet...no matter what you get, you will feel full.
I personally prefer the circ...I also like effortless sips, if you tend to hit it too hard then the tree maybe better.
If you ask me, you can get whichever is in stock and eventually get both!
We talked about doing some bent necks down the road in both perc designs
so then you can have a real variety.

If anyone has no problems with their pieces but a problem with vapor production through either HT's with the recessed joints,
the first thing you want to check is if the joints are making full contact as in they are fully
sealed. I do believe sometimes the male end of the cloud can move down or the HT may have
a too deep of a recess as the tolerance is incredibly narrow, in which case I can replace it for you.

DG mini works pretty good, not really any more drag than the HT. I have been enjoying the HT, using it more than the mini, it's just such a complete set up the way it is, and it's nice not having the cloud right in your face (as with the mini). I have not tried it on my 18" DG yet...

Ok ... figured out something else about my Cloud ... the light doesn't indicate that it's up to temperature, the clicking does! If it's still clicking, it's not up to temp. It's close. The light's sensor is somehow set much lower than that of the actual thermostat ... for instance ... yesterday I went into the shop and turned it on in advance, was busy doing a few things, and when I got back to it probably a good 30+ min had gone by ... I had it set at the 3:00 position since that's what's been the ideal position for me to date. The unit felt quite hot, but not so that it couldn't be held, and understandably so considering it had been on for over half an hour. I vaped an elb (was great as usual), but then I was fiddling with the temp knob to see how much darker abv my unit could theoretically get, since i've never gotten that dark abv (plenty dark ... as dark as I want, but never a really dark chocolate brown), and regardless of where I moved the temp knob, the green light stayed on. I found this strange ... the clicking went on and off but I didn't pay that much attention at the time.

Been using it all day, in a more normal fashion (ie. turn it on let it heat for 10 min. do a session ... turn it off) It's vaped most of the time plenty dark, but sometimes not quite dark enough, and I figured this was due to the temperature fluctuation based on how long it's been heating up ... so I played around a bit more, and my ideal setting is around 2:00 ... I just have to wait for the clicking to stop, not just for the light to go off. To test it ... I turned it up a little higher still (to around 4-4:30 setting), and waited for the clicking to stop, vaped an elb, and it was dark brown. Is this the normal behaviour? (just curious) This explains why the light doesn't go off once the clicking has stopped at 3:00 as well, since the light seems to be just set "behind" the actual thermostat.

As well, not sure if it's just a feeling or not, but I get a feeling it heats up faster until the light turns off, and then slows down, but doesn't stop actually heating up until the clicking stops ... thoughts?

I have not tried it on my 18" DG yet...

I was loving my cloud and the DG 18inch combo. I have not used it though since I got my Mobius Stereo Matrix 65t.

I like the airflow better in the Mobius. I am starting to think the DG was restricting the airflow enough that it was starting to affect my TMJ.

Still no sign of the cloud or tracking info. The wait is killing me

Me too, when did you order? And what shipping did you choose? I ordered yesterday and chose USPS Priority.

They said that the would ship it out today, but it's only 3:37pm in Cali so I am not sweating right yet :-)

Edit 8:43pm Eastern: Ok, now I'm starting to get worried. LOL. I'm so hyped up. I'm on page 52 of this thread
