Oldie, if it was mine i'd take it apart, take the screen off the top of the ceramic and clean it or replace it.

Idk if this helps with the discussion or not, but I have had mine for about a year with pretty heavy use and don't have anything on my heating element, I have only used dry herb and a keif puck once. I am guessing the potpourri is your trouble maker. I don't know much about potpourri and I have never tried it in my Q but I would guess that potpourri was not their first concern while designing, more of a way to market it :p

If anyone was wondering which moderator was starting to go ballistic over the fucking back-to-back posts, it was me.

This is a really simple rule. FOLLOW IT! I will hand out an infraction for the next offense.

Hey boys and girls, lovely to be here after 3 or so days of intense reading(lurking lol)
Now while I'd really already made up my mind about which vape to purchase this forum has helped ease any second thoughts that arose, so for that many thanks.. my eq should come today and I just got 2oz of some beautifully tended greenery so am well prepared.
Right, now for the inevitable torrent of questions.. lol jk.. only really have one. I spent 3 days at work reading up to about page 40 and have certainly enough gleaned knowledge to avoid the usual pitfalls. So question is.. so I don't have to read all the inbetween posts if someone knew roughly when any new innovations were discovered/shared with/by the community and which posts these roughly start from that'd save me alot of reading. Thanks in advance.
p.s.. I will of course post my review once i have the eq in my grubby mits!
pps.. I used a vape before and although it worked to some degree is was a fairly poorly produced model so am expecting great things from the eq.

My bad paka, surely it was accidental as you don't see me doing that like, ever? Oldie on the other hand, he's just a little forgetful sometimes ;-)

PS. When I do it, I usually realize and then edit, delete the extra post, and report it to a mod.

I need a little help on this. I know the rules prohibit double-posting, but I guess I'm not clear on what it is. Does it just mean two posts one immediately following the other? (So two replies, although to different members, should be combined into one post?)

That's a tough one, I like to know everything about something that interests me so no rush but you'll probably wanna read the entire thread anyway. There is no way to determine the conversation because it bounces all over the place. The EQ is pretty easy to figure out, and there is a vaporpedia entry as well I believe.

Regardless, this thread is pretty slow now which is the only reason it keeps my interest (don't own an EQ anymore...Solo replaced EQ, then Cloud replaced Solo), but I do have some great memories and it will still hold a piece in my heart lol

. . .

I agree with vape4life. This is really tough to answer because that kind of info just tends to be at random. It does seem that innovations are often/usually accompanied by pics, so maybe paging thru looking for such? Many of these are earlier in the thread, by veterans who may have since moved on to a new toy or now hang on other threads. You might also scan or use the search feature, by user name; Seek has done some nifty mods, and pakalolo and J.R.R.Tokin' have great advice.

Cheers. It arrived and in comparison to the truly bogus contraption I owned before it is a godsend.
I've attached my whip directly to the 'redeye rokit' bong. If you haven't seen it check it out on google.. beautiful bong.
I was able to use one of the super short lengths of tubing, bypassing the bowl straight into the stem 'rose' which has a 14 port offset perc. Very smooth indeed.

OMG. Ok that's how I'm starting out my first review of my first real vaporizer. :-).

Let me preface it by saying, I had an AromaCare crappy vape from 2003 and I hated it. I used it for a week while i had bronchitis back in 2003 and I absolutely hated it.

Now, I'm a bit older, and have this Extreme Q. It came today. Let me say, that this is an intricate machine that comes with many parts. However, that is one of the reasons I purchased it. It's versatility.

I used .2g of White Widow and holy crap. My session lasted almost an hour. I did a cyclone bowl, and the vapor whip. I started at 190 degrees Celsius, moved up to 195 degrees Celsius, and then to 200 degrees celsius, then for a little little bit 205 . I love it. I feel like I can barely walk and I never really feel this way. I had to sit down. Mind you, I was a heavy combuster for a long time. I saved my ABV. It's not super dark brown (I don't think) but I do think I exhausted all the good vapor.

Overall, I am extremely pumped with this purchase. I also bought a WISPR and I still haven't tried it cause I just can't do it. Maybe when I sober up from this, whenever this is, I'll give the WISPR a shot.

I was worried that I didn't get a SSV or a VapeXhale Cloud, but I think that as my first table vaporizer, this was an excellent choice. Plus, as a gadget geek, i love the LCD ;-).

You guys are great, used many tips from here. Let it heat up for 30 mins before use (due to packaging materials). It said 15 in the manual but I did 30.

I absolutely love this thing.

Glad to hear! And welcome to the FC and vaping family! I've owned all of Arizer's products and must agree with you that it's a perfect vape to get you started... just be careful with Vaporizer Aquisition Syndrome (VAS)... lol

Enjoy your EQ!

Oh i've already been gearing up to have my wife get me a VapeXhale Cloud or an SSV for Christmas. LOL I definitely feel like I have already acquired the syndrome before I even got this. I had to buy two already when I ordered (this one and the WISPR). LOL :-).

Well as you get more into it you may get snobbish like me and refuse to use whips tubes or bags and will wanna stick with pure clean glass. Pass on the SSV, and just go for the Cloud :)

I also like the elbow method with my V-Tower, but I find it adds a little too much drag. Are there other vaporizers which are equally efficient and work well with small amounts like ~0.2g?
I could grind the weed less fine to reduce drag, but then it will fall into the cyclone bowl after a while and I doN't want to fiddle around with the steering tool.

Makai - click. This is ultra small bowl, best for inverse hitting.

...or a regular screen mod to have a "elbow pack" sized bowl.

Also try inverse hitting for the falling problem - instead of putting the cyclone on the EQ, put upside-down EQ on the cyclone (to the black rubber end) and place the elbow in below. Draw from it and then disconnect. Herbs are sitting on the screen in inverse hitting and air is going down through them (with every type of load - cylcone loads, elbow packs and modded bowls).

So you are using the elbow pack method? ("It will fall into the cyclone bowl.")

I've been thinking about doing this. How much of a difference does it make whether you mod the cyclone bowl or not? (And with it I presume a slightly larger/more wide modded screen.) Doing the screen looks simple enough, as long as one is careful and patient. But drilling out that aperture in the bowl is tricky, especially without special tools?

Got a new bubbler arriving today, an inverted showerdome mini can by Dirty Rico which should work nicely with the Q inverted. (This way I don't have to share my Cloud with the barbarians. ;) )

I don't own one but I've read that log vapes (UD, PD, CRZ, etc) work wonderfully for small amounts and conserving.

I'm sure there are many others, one example is the Vapor Brothers Mini Whip. It holds much less than a normal whip and is about as about as wide as a cigarette on the inside.

My workaround for smaller bowls was a paper clip curled and inserted into the cyclone bowl, sitting on the middle glass lip, holding the screen up much higher and closer to the elbow. This also allows some heat to penetrate the edges of your screen that are usually blocked by the glass lip.
