Be sure you keep the air holes in the cap clear. I run my whole cap assembly under the hot shower head routinely. And routinely blow out debris free and clear right after taking a long draw, while it is still hot so it blows out more fully and completely.

Quite honestly I've never used my t1 without a screen from day 1. Guys, pick up some original vapor brothers screens, trim em down a bit and fit them in. You'll thank me.

The real issue is his vape is getting up to temp but is NOT producing vapor. We tried it with my batteries and my power supply. The switch is good and the core is glowing. I can hit my T1 and blow large clouds so I know it is NOT user error like I originally expected. Its clean as I was using my mouthpiece.

I feel like mine has the same problem, lights up and gets nice and piping hot, but no matter how long I prime or take a hit I can't get visible vapor. In everyone's videos using glass adapters, you can physically see the vapor in the tube, but I get only thin wisps when I'm really trying.

Thanks much for the clarification.
Any suggestions re: the mid-section piece de le resistance?
No problem bro, as far as the midsection goes I'm completely unfamiliar it.

In my short experiments using screens in the T1, I found that the screen just ended up collecting the same oily debris that the hole in the cap did without the screen. Consequently, I found it to be a little bit of an inconvenience to keep the screens cleaned, and then having to reposition the screen back each time seemed to be an additional step that is not necessary if you just keep the holes clear. Whatever works best, by all means continue. Why do you find keeping the screens clean to be less of a hassle than keeping the holes clean?

I found even when the screens were dirty, it still performed better than without. The difference between being able to take a long hit and not. I guess it's less effort if I just replace them every couple of days rather than carrying around a toothpick and constantly poking around or blowing into the mouthpiece every hit.

And routinely blow out debris free and clear right after taking a long draw, while it is still hot so it blows out more fully and completely. As long as I keep the top cap truly clear, I get great, visible vapor every draw without fail. I don't experience any need for concern about restriction in the middle assembly, though definitely notice the increased restriction and decreased vapor you describe if/whenever my top cap is substantially covered, which is why I offer this suggestion, to make sure you are always keeping clear what you can keep clear. ;)
What he said.

Plus, when I last had my T1 completely apart, I suck tested each piece, to see which was the most restrictive, and on my T1 it was the bowl/heater assembly. The sleeve holes let in a little more air, and the CLEAN cap holes let in the most. YMMV

First off, I use 5/8 SS screens that fit neatly just inside the lip of the rim, on top of the load. Yes they foul too (which IMO is a good thing, I don't want to be breathing that gunk in....), but since the screen moves as I tumble the load between hits it gets spread out over a wider area so it does so more slowly than the holes.

http://www.amazon.com/100ct-Lot-Met...&qid=1342387864&sr=8-1&keywords=5/8+ss+screen

When it does get grody, I pull it out and put it in the dirty jar, and get a fresh one. Once a month or so I flame them all clean again in a few minutes (hemostats and torch lighter) and I'm good for another bunch of bowls.

That's why I find it less of a hassle. Arncha glad you asked? I am.....

thanx pipes. How's the pull on your t1?
Seems fine now. It was the first week or so as it just cleared up. Hard on the batteries though as tend to draw yourself blue in the face to get much. I think once you feel the same pressure on both inhale and exhale your in the "normal" bracket. At least for the trouble I was having.

Thanks for the input Phreedom and Norlin (edit: and everyone else while I was putting this post together)!

I've been using shaped pieces of a volcano fine screen on both top and bottom. The stuff is reeeal fine, looks more like a porous aerospace material than a screen, very low mass...

Here's the difference between volcano's normal and fine screens...

and here's the bottom screen I made, which just covers the bowl's bottom flat area...

Which leads...
to be filed under "I am sooo busted"- (inspired by Phree's keep er' clean commo) what was giving me the severe airflow issue was the fine screen I put in the top that had gotten rezzy/cloggy. Soooo... the screen works well, just keep 'er clean.

(edit: my t1's airflow is now better, but... I dunno)

cheers all

So here is a simple and avoidable mistake I made today and want to share... if you have the AC adapter unit, and plan to go out the door with your battery unit, be sure to look at the bottom of the T1 BEFORE you leave, to be sure you have the right one. I got out to the fair today, got back to the booth we were visiting, went to hit the T1, no heat, hmmmm, I swear I put fresh batteries in before I left... open battery chamber to find the AC adapter... Grabbed the wrong one off my desk on the way out. Easy mistake to make if you fail to check. Luckily I had my mini omicron as back up...

Your story makes me a sad panda... Glad you had a backup. Nobody should be stuck at the fair without their medicine.

Yeah I was a little bummed, but glad to have the back up for sure... I even >EEEK< smoked a little (fresh hits only) and let me tell you, I was saying AAACK and making grimace faces, I am definitely over smoking, and will only use it as a last resort. Like drinking fresh roast coffee, then switching to no name generic ground can coffee... night and day experience.

I received an email last night stating that the replacement switch is being sent out. I am really looking forward to getting my T1 up and running again. Thanks Tim & Zeki for helping getting my situation rectified.

Pecosthecat,

Please send me an e-mail tim@thermovape.com and i can get this sorted out for you.

All of our warranty replacements get shipped out within a week of when we talk to the customer, sometimes we have periods of high demand and this might get extended a few more days to get all the warranty replacements sent out.

I'm terribly sorry it has taken so long for yours to get to you, sometimes the postal services can take an extended amount of time.

In the e-mail please also include your orignal order number so i can find you quickly and get a replacement to you.

Cheers,
Tim

If the core if firing on both coils yet not producing vapor..........

The only thing i can think of is maybe technique, slow down your hit significantly and see if that helps. If its still not performing well for you, i have a few things up my sleeve that could help. Shoot me an e-mail tim@thermovape.com :)

Great news indeed. Looking forward to it, and I'm generally not so big on glass.

Thanks for the heads up, if we don't hear much from you guys for a while, now we know why......

That's not something you hear every day. Any reasons besides the classic durability issue?

That, and cost. And not being able to make some parts out if it driving design. It's a personal opinion thing at some level, I guess, but I believe proper material selection offsets most if not all the traditional advantages in most cases.

It's a scientist, not artist, thing? Not sure where the engineers are on the matter, probably off somewhere messing with electric trains?

Using an all-glass airflow device just gives me way too much of a placebo effect. :)

We're talking that jaw dropper from the other day?

IMO if they don't reopen it or give you something to compensate your efforts and jump all over that they're asleep at the switch BIG TIME.

I'm giving odds they're too smart to pass up a chance on another one as well.

Feel free to quote me on that......
