Discontinued ThermoVape Revolution for concentrates

Dabbin torch. It was an absolute dab fest. They had this one giant nail Manny was calling the dumpster and they had a y adapter for two people to get head to head dabs Pouring the wax in large quantitys. And that was just one section of the Cali connection area. Harborside had a dab bar next door. Etc. etc. etc.

Herb was the forgotten mistress at this years cup but I got some killer. I hate the teases though. One club had huge jars and the wifi-og looked stunning. Nope. Please come to our club. Never tried the wifi-og but will soon.

Peace

Btw: totally love Tapatalk for the iPad. Great way to browse forums. Well written. Integrates well including conversations etc. droid and apple versions.

I can't find info on the Vector torch anywhere! Does anyone know more about these? A bunch of research led me to a Blazer Stingray, but this sounds more portable.

Haha oops. I meant Vortex torch. Vector I knew about, Vortex was brought up on the last page, not sure what it is. Thanks for the super fast responses!

Personally, I'd try to hold out the few days.. Nothing like pure PG vapor IMO.
I don't think I'm gonna be able to not try it for a few days, but at worst, it won't be as good as when the DART arrives, and I don't plan on using the PG up before then.
From my understanding Puregold is very liquidy. If you are going to experiment with adding it to herb in the Evo I would say put no more than a DROP on your load. Give it a nice layer like you normally would load, add the single drop of PG, let it soak in to the herb first, then top it with a little more herb. Honestly though, if it were me, I would hold out for the Dart. Even then, you will want to use this stuff sparingly, as it is supposed to be pretty runny and potent. When you get your dart, you might want to put a single drop on the ceramic and warm the coil a bit, watch it sizzle down into the ceramic, then stop heating, and add another drop. Then you can cap it and try for a vapor hit. You will need to prime your new dart, and the first drop or two of oil will seemingly disappear, this is because the ceramic is dry and needs to get primed. Once you get a few hits from your second drop, add another. Avoid puddling it, or flooding it. It will take a few hits to get the Dart fully operational. What ever you do, don't squeeze a bunch into any of the TV devices or you will have a mess and waste your good stuff.
Thanks for all the tips! I asked my friend for the PG because it had been mentioned here a number of times, and it seemed less problematic compared to discussions about some of the different extractions and waxes. With only two ampules of the stuff, I don't want to waste most of it figuring out how to vape it...
go for it. i've done this on evo and t1 with no problems. herb , 1 drop pg, more herb
heaven, wont clog or ruin anything
Thanks for the encouragement. With Jam's instructions, and my previous experience with TV stuff, I have high hopes (pun intended). Did you find the Evo or the T1 better for this method (herb, drop of pg, herb)? It's all I can do from opening one of the PG ampules while I'm still here in LA.

After envying those of you fortunate enough to be able to easily purchase concentrates, I find myself in possession of two ampules of pure gold, and the ability to get more if I fall in love, courtesy of a friend who lives in SoCal. Only I've never done "oil" before. I have all sorts of TV stuff, a T1 and a Evo, but they're really designed for botanicals.

I was ordering the glass mouthpiece for the T1, and what with the the July4 sale going on, I decided to order a DART too. So I did. I presumed for a slightly viscous but mostly liquid concentrate like the pure gold, that the DART was the way to go (but it's too late now anyway). I'd appreciate any tips about proper usage, having never dealt with any liquid concentrates (or the DART) before.

Complicating things, I'll be getting back home from LA on Monday, and the DART probably won't arrive until the end of the week, and I don't think I can hold off for 4 or 5 days without at least trying the pure gold (which I won't open until I get home), so what do you all suggest? A small layer of herb in the Evo, followed by a little pure gold, and then a small top layer of herb? Or should I do something similar but in the T1 instead?

Thanks for you help, and we should all have this problem :)

Sometime i find myself without my DART and only my T1 but all i have is liquid concentrates, in these cases ill throw a few drops on my ABV and start vaping. I have to say that it defiantly works our VERY well, I've re-used the same ABV for even a few days as i was vaping the concentrate off.

and hey a few reminders to everyone else we have our newest products up on thermovape.com.

Hello all, this is my first post here:wave:

I've lurked these forums a few times but had never joined.

Since I've been researching portable vapes I've been trying to find the best, most versatile, durable, and affordable vaporizer. Due to the 25% off sale and what already seems to be a great product for the price (although I may say a 'perfect' price with that extra 25% ;) ) I have decided to get the TV Revolution with DART. I have been wanting a portable vaporizer and this is the first I have owned; although I have a Purple Days at home and sometimes in the car.

First off, what is the overall opinion on the DART vs window?
Second, how much can the DART cartridge contain without adverse effects?

I was also curious if the Evolution cartridge alone will fit and work directly on the base of the Revolution? I plan on getting this attachment at some point, and I'm not sure if I'd need the Evolution conversion kit or just the cartridge.

Thanks! :leaf:

The evo will screw on it; it goes with any 510 thread so long as the battery can power it. Works fine on the T1/REV base, or the Alpha Ultra.

I find the DART much easier for loading, but there is open edge around the ceramic. I think that is why it leaks if you load too much. Just do small BB size dabs on the end of the DART tool. If loading more than a small amount, I find the window REV better. May need to stir it a b it though.

Any DART users - how are you refilling yours? I've gone from using the DART pin to slowly drip onto the ceramic (takes too long on the LV UltraLIte) to coating the sides with the DART pin, to coating the sides at the bottom just near the ceramic with another tool, to dabbing direct onto the ceramic (very carefully) after a few seconds warm up to make sure it all soaks into the ceramic. Once the ceramic is loaded this thing can really pump out thick clouds on a fresh battery, keeps surprising me how much I'm exhaling on that first draw even after I dial back to half or quarter tokes.

Dabbing direct onto the ceramic worked best and quickest, but I'd rather not be touching it if possible, so I'm wondering if people are using the DART pin like a honey dipper and loading up heaps so it drips down quicker? I takes ages on the LV UltraLite for the DART pin to warm up, so what's on the pin takes freaking ages to make its way down to the bottom of the pin, let alone off and onto the ceramic.

Anyone got tips on how best to load up the ceramic thoroughly before a session?

Has anyone noticed faster dripping time with the SV DART, or any other benefits of SV over LV? I've got an UltraMax for both LV and SV use on its way, just wondering if I should pick up a SV DART or just enjoy the extra capacity of the 17670s?

On the 17670s - I think I got the last few spares they had, someone bought up all their inventory a few weeks back so hopefully back in stock soon. But I managed to find the guy who makes the AW 17670s selling from Hong Kong via PayPal deposit - the number of happy customers and the fact the thread is up to Part 12 made me think this was legit and not a fake scam - yet to arrive so YMMV but if you're stuck and can't find them: http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showthread.php?230876-AW-s-LiIon-Batteries-Sales-Thread-*Part-12*

Howdy, and welcome to the fun. IMO you've made an excellent choice. If you've got even 'fairly good' concentrates you're sure to like it. DART has the advantage unless you're using bubble hash in which case the window is an easier way in to stir between hits (necessary since bubble doesn't 'melt in'). It can hold a fair bit without leaking but you should not load more than about .05 grams at a time (say BB size) as it will slow it way down, make it harder to hit and many think 'cook' the oil (harming the taste) before you finally get to it. "Load small and often" is the key. When new/clean you might want to load as much as .2 grams but don't put more in until it starts running dry again. This is, IMO, a 'rookie mistake'. Keep it fairly empty for best results.

Aside from the top parts, the Revolution and DART are the same, same element, heater, etc.

Evolution will work, but it generates a LOT of heat (it has to be on longer and has a bigger heater), the standard battery section (without the insulating sleeve) can make this kind of hard to hold onto. You can buy just the cart, but the insulated battery is recommended. There's also an insulated adapter (bit above the battery, under the cart, that holds the switch) some guys favor, but it's probably not a good plan if you overload and flood the Revolution as there's no trap in it so the oil gets into the swich.....with attendant problems.

The DART tip is designed to load it. It's made so the tip very nearly touches the ceramic but is close enough so the concentrate does. A dab on the end will contact the ceramic correctly, that on the side of the tip has to wait a bit on the heat. I try to reload while it's at least warm, and will generally 'fire it up' for maybe 10 seconds or so then stand it up and let it drain down for a bit.

I'm not sure about 'the guy who makes them', I understand AW is not a maker but a broker, but his is the source I've used and recommended many times without troubles:
http://www.lighthound.com/AW-17670-Protected-Rechargeable-Lithium-Battery_p_101.html

They show in stock, and I don't think I've ever seen them there otherwise?

Good luck, grate vape for sure.

Has anyone tried to run the SV DART/REV on the Alpha Ultra with two 14250 batteries, as in the manual for e-cig use at 6 volts? I wonder if this is worth it.

Yes, I have. No, I don't think it's worth it. LV with IMR 14500 was better by a fair bit, I can't even find those useless little guys right now (I wanted to check if they were Li ion or IMR).....perhaps a measure of how valuable I thought they were?

My advice is to stick with LV.

Hey guys,

I'm about to take the plunge and get one of these kits but I had a few questions before I make the payment. (I'm sorry if these have been asked before btw.)

Is the revolution that comes with the kit on their website a HV or LV version? I tried searching but couldn't find an answer. What the difference between LV and HV when it comes to the accessories and which should I stick with? I'm guess HV is better?

I'm really interested in the Dart tool due to it preventing things from getting messy and it's simplicity, but the recommended BB size has me wondering if I should get the window tool instead. I would like to have something that I can load up and take with me to use through out the day without having to bring my concentrates as well. So would the window tool allow me put much more? Or does it also have a recommended BB size? I've read that if you put too much using the Dart tool some of the concentrates can leak out onto the rest of the device, is this possible with the window tool as well?

What are your thoughts between the different mouth pieces? I remember someone mentioning on this site that extended length versions are a little better, what about UFO versions?

Is anything else you guys would recommend or suggestion with the kit?

Thanks in advance for the help, it will be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure when they say BB they mean grain of sand or grain of rice size, think tiny buckshot pellets rather than actual fat BB gun BB's, if I added a whole BB's worth to my dart it would insta-flood...

Thank you for the informative post, OF. I'm a little confused as far as the insulated battery section you speak of, they all have the same battery base correct? I see the sort of insulated adapter with the evo but it seems that isn't completely necessary if the cartridge already screws into the rev base right? Is the switch that comes with the evo different than a normal one? So I guess the only major difference between the evo cartridge with its base, and the revo base, is the insulated connector? Sorry for all the questions :p I'm trying to not spend extra money if I don't need to. lol

Damn that's kind of lame to hear that it doesn't hold very much. Is this the same case with the window as well? I'm in the same boat as leetmode in wondering "I would like to have something that I can load up and take with me to use through out the day without having to bring my concentrates as well." Is it possible to do this with the DART or Window or is it only a few hits at a time?

In My Rev I can put BB size chunks of wax no problem. If you go a bit bigger than a BB it will still work, as long as it is a reasonable amount, but more gets stuck on the metal around the ceramic. After 4-5 hits I just pop the top, I prefer not to use the window, and use a toothpick to scrape the wax back on the ceramic.

You're welcome. There are 3 different supplies TV makes you might want to try. The 17670 based one (same as the RCR123A based one the T1 uses) comes with out without an external Delrin sleeve. This is a plus for Evolution, basically mandatory for T1 and OK for Revolution/DART. If you choose to run Evolution on the medium size supply (14500 based) it's going to get hot down there, although lots of guys like this supply for Revolution/DART due to size.

Revolution and DART are the same units, except for the upper sections. They load and hit the same.

Switches are the same for all 3 models and both adapter bodies (with or without the trap or insulation). The smallest supply, 10440 based, uses the same switch again, but a smaller adapter section.

Sorry you think it's "lame" but "Load as you go" is in fact the standard I'd say for vapes. Most vapes just dont' hold a day long load for most users. Nor do bongs. Or joints. Or pipes. Or nails. Or one hitters....... If you want to load a bunch of concentrate and 'no brainer hit it all day' this is not it, try Omicron. It was designed for that. But notice, please, the designer there thinks that's 'lame' enough to be trying very very hard to produce some high performance "load as you go" gear.......

Let me clear up that I didn't mean "lame" in such a negative context you have implied. lol. I am still very excited for this vape regardless of how much I have to re-load it. Ill just have to find a way to take my concentrates with me :p

From what I have gathered from their website, all of the bases for T1/evo/revo were the same, besides the top parts that screw into the base. So what is the medium power supply? Is that the Alpha?

Either way it looks like in their product information video for the Evolution they aren't using the insulated connector between the cartridge and the battery. I don't know if they did that on purpose or what. lol

Yes, the smallest is the Alpha Ultralite.

Yes, IIRC the video came out before the insulated part was made (in response to folks here?). It is not necessary, and even has a disadvantage with carts (oil or e-cig) that might leak due to lack of trap.

Note the third picture on the first link shows a Revolution on "the Evolution Interface"....it's all real modular. You can even put the Evolution on the Ultralite.....it doesn't really work past a weak hit or two, but you can do it.

Ahh okay that makes more sense now! After watching the evolution videos I can see how they all work together.

So the evolution interface doesn't have a trap, while the revolution does? Makes sense.
I don't know how you found those on their website though :ninja: lol but thanks for the help!

No advice on that waiting bit though, everything I've tried doesn't help. Best advice is to always keep the about to be replaced vape handy?
