Discontinued Purple-Days Vaporizer

Chant Down Babylon
Hey all,
Anyone know of a different transformer which fits the electronic needs that may be a bit more resilient/robust?

I broke e standard jameco unit with my pd with very gentle use with in 3 months.
I already bounced it off Tom and Pammy with excellent response though no alternative power source recommendation.

Thanks!

Thanks biojuggernaut!

Bio, several folks have had problems with the variable power Radio Shack supply. Underpowered... compared to the Jameco 10081 . . .

Announcement: 12-01-2011
We are not taking orders at this time.

We have as many orders as we can fill by the end of the 2011 calendar year.
We are going to make every possible effort to
get those orders filled and shipped before Christmas,
take a few days off for family and friends, then get a fresh start in 2012.
Happy Holiday Season to all !

Long work days ahead, but it will be worth it to get some holiday time off and start fresh in 2012.

I bought the Enercell from Radio Shack once because I didn't want to wait for my Jameco to be shipped, and after a couple of weeks of working great, it started to decline and get cooler and cooler, to the point where not ever a coozie was helping get the correct temp.

Got me a couple of Jameco transformers and I'm happy again.:)

Yes, the Radioshack adapter is almost guaranteed to go to shit IME as well (I've had more than one) if it isn't putting out inadequate power to start. It's convenient (albeit more expensive) but not worth the sacrifice in usability IMO. I too would love a super heavy-duty Jameco version since I seem prone to killing them.

Happy holidays to all but especially Tom and Pammy, I hope you can crank'em out early enough to take an extra day or two.

Hey Tom, since I ordered my PD on 10/21, I'm wondering how far down I am in the que. I'm glad to hear you have so much business but I'm also hoping to get my PD soon (a PD - PDQ!). ;)

I've had mine for about four weeks and I'd risk perjury to say its all that and a bag of chips. Once I got a hang of the thing, 3-4 big rips through a mini beaker with a 10-arm tree are very common.

It's sweet. I bought oils to diffuse thinking it was a joke but it fills the room with essence in about 5 minutes. Aromatherapy is for real, go figure :)

Cheers. And thanks again for a badass unit team purple days!

mob, I agree with drewper - it IS all that and a bag of chips! I had to wait on "the list" for about 6 months to get my first unit. I liked it so much, I now have 2.

Some things are just worth waiting for. :peace:

What's a 10-arm tree? Haha. I don't even have a log vape yet, but I'm fantasizing about water filtration already. Mini beaker meaning running the PD unit directly into a smaller bong, correct? So what's this tree business? I've been smoking weed since I was 15, but now that I'm an adult comfortable with making personal decisions (and no longer paying my teenage dues on probation  tomorrow I'll be 22 years old ), I have so much to learn! :peace:

Mundi,
A 10-arm tree is a type of diffusion used in bongs and bubblers. You can find out way more than you probably will ever want to know about vaping through glass here.

hey mundi

screw the glass, get a PD instead. they are currently unavailable for order until 2012, but nontheless, the PD is a better investment IMO.

I am from NJ, too. If you ever want to try a PD (and glass!) let me know :) cheers!

I cannot undo the goggling that occurred over some of the glass on that page. Thanks for the link!

Regarding the killing of power supplies, I've been meaning to grab some heatshrink tubing to cover/extend the strain relief on the ends of the cord. I assume this is where they are failing.

Instead of using heat shrink tubing you can braid hemp or string around the cord. Adds strength and gives it a much nicer look.
