I thought I was understanding this thread then it all got a bit confusing and acrimonious.
If I filter my QWISO then add a drop of the d-Limo then filter and evap again would it be pointless?

No it would not be pointless if the d-limo actual precipitates out something you don't want, like a tar ball. This is the "surprise" I received with it. The second dissolution was simply what happened because it needed to be filtered again to get rid of the grit and I just happened to have the perfect amount of dirty ISO around at the time . . .

i want everyone here, but i want everyone to get over themselves. if ya can't, i'm sorry, but i don't want to watch two people pick at each others posts. if that means one or both need to go, so be it. i'd rather it didn't go that way, but i' don't always get my 'druthers. this is stressing out other people and it isn't our shit. that isn't yours either, but be aware of your impact.

my two cents

I know I deleted my post from before, going to take a chance and reach out again, but what it comes down to is tolerance for each other. We all need to feel we can express ideas with out somebody poking at them with a stick and magnifying glass. This thread is crash and burning before it even gets the chance to develop, which I think really sucks. People who stumble in here to see what the discussion is about are likely to want to leave, or just not participate if we can't get along and share ideas with out it turning into a nit pick sesh. I don't know how many threads I've had to wade through pages of people going at each other. I won't point fingers or call names out here, each of us are responsible for how we choose to react and what we say in return. Really is it that hard to let it drop an move on? We are all in this together...

We are packing things up, I'll be around the puter through tomorrow morning, then will be gone till sunday night. Hoping things smooth out a bit while I'm away.

on another point to quickly change the subject. i notice jam and t-dub both have the goldstein fritted discs. as someone with a tree-arm and showerhead, how does it compare? was it worth the toro and syn level pricing?

I wish I could offer more to this one, but I have not had enough experience with the tree arm, or shower head perks to be able to compare to the fritted disk. I can say the frit is really nice, might be a little over priced, but it is a quality piece that delivers a really smooth hit.

Not to cross-post but the discussion of what the fritts do has come up recently in the VXC thread so just to share:

"The purpose of sparging is to saturate the enclosed liquid with the gas, often to displace another gaseous component. The purpose of a scrubber or gas-washing bottle is to scrub the gas such that the liquid absorbs one (or more) of the gaseous components to remove it from the gas stream, effectively purifying the gas stream."

Both of these tasks are accomplished in labs by fritts . . .

Obviously we are doing the latter but the DG takes this to a whole new level for people like us/me :)

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
Back on topic please ? I'm trying to learn something here from established members, not a trainwreck that keeps making me think I clicked on the wrong thread :hmm:

So was doing some research on D-lim and from what I can tell unless there is someway to separate d-lim from the cannabinoids other then evap it will always leave some sort of residue at the temps we need to work at. One person reported leaving a 100ml sample out to evap for weeks and it still left a sticky residue behind. This solvent may only want to be added in small amounts as a co solvent as a means to percipatate out additional impurities.

this is why i want to find a soluble solution for the limon that isn't oil soluble. then a simple separatory funnel will save us.

This is my understanding too, and one of the reasons I think Tdub was referencing the pure gold info... those guys are leaving 5% in or so they claim. Still leads me to think Tdub's experience adding it to his reclaim is on the right track of how to use this in combo with another solvent.

I don't know if this is off topic, but I figured people would be interested...
This thread inspired me to do some experimenting so I mixed 1 drop of pure essential lemon oil (mostly limonene) into 0.4g of some bland tasting hash oil and loaded it up in my omicron. The taste is out of this world, almost like candy hash, very lemony obviously, but very enjoyable. Next time I'll probably use a half a drop of essential oil for 0.5g because you don't need much. I know you guys love your uber pure hash oils, but here on the east coast we don't have as good starting product as you guys in Cali. I have a feeling different citrus oils added to reclaim will make it much more enjoyable. Next up, orange oil and grapefruit oil ;)

my favorites to mix with lemon are bergamot, lime, tangerine and grapefruit. make your blend in a dropper bottle and then use about 1 drop per gram of oil

ylang ylang is also nice but costs a bit more than the others.

SO I am slow, you are using the d-lim at the end of extract process and not as an extractant?
