I seem to have a problem that no one else has mentioned (as far as i've read). I put a mesh screen in and no matter how long i heat the thing up for, like until its too hot to hold, the keif in not only doesnt vaporize, it doesnt even combust. its still green and shit. is there something i'm doing wrong to not produce enough heat. seems like the main problem ive read about is too much* heat

Be careful getting that battery too hot. Can you tell if the coil is getting red? look in a dark room see off you can see a glow.

Yes i have, so after i look to make sure i put the mouthpiece back on to make sure all the heat gets trapped

the metal screen could be having a contact problem with the coil and it's electricity can be transferring across the mesh were it shouldn't. Glass screens seem to work the best. But you can hardly say "best"..

let the unit cool down, and top off it's charge. if nothing then I say try to get a refund or replacement

Its wierd becuase without the screen amd direct contact with the coil anything combusts just fine so im really confused. Its general concensus that the usual problem is that the chamber gets too hot, right? Has anyone else had this happen or am makimg some sort of obvious mistake

i tried loading it up with more keif than normal. This time i can feel heat and slight throat hit but no visible vapor coming out of my mouth. the powder is darker green with hints of brown now so maybe it only borderline vapes it

I haven't seen too many posts about anyone successfully vaping with the AR, including myself. I gave up and bought a real vape. If you are a smoker, the AR is a perfect portable stealth tool, but good luck getting it to vaporize properly.

About the only time I use mine now, is when I am going somewhere I don't want to risk taking my good vapes, which isn't that often, then I use it for bubble hash. It still combusts, but it's not as nasty tasting to me with the bubble as bud is when combusted. Haven't touched mine in over a month...

I purchased the AtmosRaw about two weeks ago, works great except for one major flaw. The battery won't charge. Atmos sent me a replacement battery which worked great until it died. I plugged it into my charger but the light just stays green and does not charge my battery (I though to myself, hmm maybe it's the charger). Went to my local head shop and purchased a new charger which charged it once and the same the same thing happened. Battery died I plugged it in to charge and once again no red light just green. Any one know if there's a way to do a hard reset on the battery?

I have had this same problem. not once but twice! did anyone every figure out what this issue is or how to fix it?

I got lost here somewhere, can someone please set me straight?

Which is dieing? Battery or charger? Or is the battery killing new chargers? We're not looking at the known issue with oil sticking to the charger center pin and pulling it out are we?

TIA

The battery portion will not recharge. When i first got it I was able to recharge, screw it into the charges and the light turned red and flashed like it was supposed to. after one run down of the battery I screwed it into the charger and the light just stays green. it doesn't recognize that battery is attached. The charger is not broken, I have tried on 2 different chargers. something with the whole bottom portion that has the battery either died or isn't correctly making contact with the charger - not sure.

This happened 2 times with two different batteries. i'm about done with this thing. I sent one battery and usb charger back to the seller and am awaiting for an answer or replacement. but who know how long that will take.

Thanks, it's making more sense now, I misread something that said a charger had died. The flashes happen, I think, on contact, even if charging is not needed? Sounds like the electronics failed all right, wonder why? Heat??? That's the usual enemy of Silicon in such cases.....

This 'battery unit' is used in other lines, right? I don't own one. Anyone know what the current draw or power is?

OF,
Hi, new to FC. Signed up just for this thread. I bought mine impulsively since my local shop offered it for $100, I couldn't resist. But I started doing some research, found this forum, read the ENTIRE thread, and now I'm disappointed. I got it so cheap (& without tax), so I highly doubt my shop is an authorized dealer. No 3 year warranty or free glass screens.. *waaaahh* So my question is: anyone know where I can purchase that screen? I only smoke flowers. If I can't return this thing, I guess I'll keep it for full melt/bubble hash.. or sell it.. I haven't tinkered with it yet. I was convinced I should keep it after WeGonGetIt's video, and I was hoping a screen would come with mine, but it didn't. Damn it, I should've read the entire thread.. :suspicious:

edit: NVM! Found it on their website, $8.95 for 3 glass screens that have a single hole in the middle. So.. is this product worth keeping? What do you guys think? After all the videos and reviews, it seems like a convenient, discreet, but not fully-vaporizing portable e-pipe.. I'm just super iffy because I doubt I'll be able to get warranty.

I like putting a dab or some nugget in my raw with no screen, pop it into a bong slide, and presto. and when I say like, I mean I don't go out of my way to get my stupid raw out. But it's handy in a pinch if it stays alive and toxic free :uhoh:

kushcabbage,
Not if you can get $100 for it :D

But if you don't want to go through the hassle of selling & shipping it I would get the glass screen and keep on toying with it until it dies. Gotta get your money's worth somehow!

Just spoke to a rep @ Atmos, found out all stores are authorized dealers except for ebay & amazon. Seems too good to be true?! Guess I'll keep it and register it for the warranty. Yay !!

I'm a little confused.. Are all of you smoking concentrates with or without the screen? It's okay to let it touch the heating element? Or it's better to sandwich a lil something in between 2 screens?

Hi all.
I think I'm kinda in the same boat as peacelovetrees - although I think it's the gadget side of me that my impulse purchase happend. I also scored a pretty good deal (not at good as plt though) I happen to find out one of my friends sells vapes. Nice perk for sure.

Anyway, I've only tried flowers with mine. Lucky for me I was given some glass screens. They must be prototype's cause they're more than just a single hole in the center. Reminds me of a honeycomb or a really tiny water wheel haha. I've only used my AR with it, and I don't feel confident using it.
But if using concentrates and what not are do-able I may have to do that. I'm thinking of just getting a g-pen. I really want something portable like the AR but I want it to work and I keep going back to my joints cause I can't seem to get in the zone with the AR, even my MFLB I have a hard time getting in the zone. Maybe I'm not a vape kinda person?

Howdy, welcome to the fun.

I'm sorry your initial experiences with this guy are 'sub wonderful', sadly you're not alone. Those that get them to work seem to be able to do it in a narrow range and not for all that long. The system is IMO pretty marginal.

If you're considering another vape in the same class for concentrates, I suggest you look at the Omicron O-Phos. It has a large following, excellent service and great history of successful service. Yesterday we had a lively discussion on this very topic on the G Pen Forum, you might want to check it out. It's a bit more money ($90) but uses $10 replaceable carts that hold and automatically feed as much as a gram, and are good for a few grams typically. In the event of any problems, you can swap out the cart (assuming you have a spare) and soldier on and sort it out later.

Vaping takes some time to get used to. Since you're not breathing in a lot of garbage (lets face it, most of the stuff in smoke is best avoided if you value your health. But your mind associates the poisons (for lack of a better word) with being high, and indeed they do contribute to the feeling, it's logical to crave it. We all had it happen and fought through it. You no doubt know the other advantages but let me remind you of another worth thinking about. When you blaze a lot of your valuable THC gets burned up. If you wean yourself off it to vaping (can take a few weeks) you'll notice your weed bill dropping. I'd say the average vaper uses something on the order of a third their prior amount? Over a few months that's a lot of bucks.

If you have concentrates available, I strongly recommend one of the Omicron machines. The O-Phos is closest to the AR and G pen in price and function....but it works.

Congratulations on getting into the swim, there's a reason so very very few of us ever go back to fire. Note the forum name?

Thank you for the info and the welcome. I've been trying to give the vape thing a go here and there but haven't fully committed to it. I actually had a nurse tell me about the poisons of burning at my last prescription renewal. I can see that making sense. It's so tough to ween off burning though. I've been smoking joints since I was in high school (20+ yrs ago) so it's tough, like cigarettes or something.

I'll look into the Omicron O-PHOS, The original omicron got me all excited when it first came out but then I read a few reviews and I felt discouraged on the info. I'm one of those people that would like to get the best of something in it's class if possible. Every vape seller/creator/designer has so many different models it's confusing. Like walking into a dispensary that has 20 top shelfs and 20 mid shelfs it's mind blowing and overwhelming.

I was checking out the atmosraw.com site a little more and noticed they have an adapter for oils. Is that worth the $40 to give it a try or has anyone tried it out?

I have a feeling I'm gonna start questing for the best portable unit available. Smoking isn't always convenient as we all know and I need to figure out the best solution for my taking my meds.

FC!! I'm glad I found this place (great name too). Seems like there are alot of people that know alot of Vape-Science. I hope I can grasp some of that knowledge to put towards my usage.

You're welcome. We know how hard it is, but thousands of us have done it, you can too. You can always go back in a few months, but very very few do once they're clear of it.

Doesn't the AR have a standard 510 connector on it (I don't have one, but my Atmos RX does)? If so, I'd suggest this cheap thread adapter and a few Omicron oil carts:
http://www.electronic-cigz.com/51ad.html

IMO the best plan is to start with the cart, then look for how to drive it. The cart is common across the Omicron/Persei line.

Also worth consideration IMO is the TV DART, but it's a little bigger step away and is a 'load as you go' deal you need to top up every 8 or so hits. Does a great job, though, and is very flexible in terms of what it will use and what levels it will produce.

But if you have a 510 thread on that AR, I'd suggest the adapter and proven oil vape system (Omicron carts). 2.4 Ohm versions are recommended. You can buy singles here or at some Dispensaries:
http://www.planetvape.ca/vaporizer-extract-cartridge-single.html

PV is a great outfit, a true supporter of both THC and this community. They have gotten a lot of my money, and will be getting more no doubt. Recommended vendor. Note free shipping (and very fast) with orders over $130. Smaller orders are cheap enough shipping to keep me coming back.

Well, the Solo is a portable vape that WORKS and DELIVERS. If you are looking for a good flower vape. Thermovape T1 also works really good, but isn't as plug and play as the Solo. Those are my top 2 recommendations for a REAL vape if you are trying to transition from smoking.
