A brushed metal Spartan appeared on my doorstep today. I had been using a 12 volt and a 13.5 volt wall wart together, swapping in the 13.5 once in a while for a heavier hit or three. This is better. Reduces the wire mess. I like dinking around with it and dialing in a good voltage/temp for my mood. I also picked up a tooty without carb. This is really impressive. I have been using an old tooty with the brass fittings as my main tube and this one is much more substantial, nice thick glass. Rick delivers, once again!

Tried a stem at 14.2V right off the bat.

Wow... biggest cloud i've ever gotten off the CRZ by far (without any concentrates)
A tinge of dark brown off just one tho, but thats to be expected ;)

Rick, I sent you an email regarding a progressing crack up my zap. Hopefully we can figure something out!

Elluzion, we got you figured out. When a crack that started at the bottom moves up like yours just did, we will replace the 'shell' at no charge. All we ask is the unit be returned to us first. Back in the beginning we would send a replacement right out before the original defective unit was sent to us. That plan does not work well for us even though it worked double good for a few customers. We appreciate you telling us about your crack not being a good crack.
Funny about words. All cracks are not equal.
Will, thanks for those nice shots of your Oak CRZ. Kinda neat to realize that little air heater was once a piece of a pallet that carried large cast iron pipe. Now it will warm your hands forever and make whatever kind of vapor desired while at the same time conserving herb to a maximum degree. Road trips are fun, part of Americana.

First big delivery day of the summer for the farm today. We have been delivering since June 1st but this one is what it's all about. We are on track for doing this every week all summer.
Over 40 pounds of nice young spring lettuce with lots of red in the mix. 80 pounds of apple wood chips for the chefs who do alot of smoked meats. Our first real delivery of young summer squash, all with green and yellow coloring including some nice softball size yellow globes. Spinach, mint, basil, gobs of beautiful radishes and the first good batch of Pats edible flower confetti mix. We grow lots of edible flowers of many different colors. She de-petals them we package in two ounce clamshells. The chefs sprinkle them on everything. The flower petal mix has been one of our main crops over the years as they just keep coming even more with extensive picking every week. Soon we will have multicolored beets and cherry tomatoes will start. They love our cherry tomatoes and this looks to be a big year for us if we can keep the pocket gophers down. I think the gang has over 200 tomato plants in the ground.
This year our oldest son and his love are working hard on the farm almost every day and it really is paying off. We also took some big gambles on planting early and won. Even the days of 38 degree rain over the last two weeks did not hurt much. Record breaking cold weather in June and we will have record breaking heat this summer.
This will be a memorable year for Howling Hills Bio Dynamic Farm. Cannot say "organic" anymore as we stopped the certify process two years ago. They have the rules set for the big guys now and us little farmers do not have the time or money for all the paperwork. We grow food as always, never using any chemical fertilizer, herbicide or pesticide. Bio Dynamic. Dynamic life in our soil that becomes more alive every year. The soil is a living breathing organism. Bio Dynamic farming was here long before Rodale Press and the term "organic" became popular.
These are the fine folks that treat us very well and take everything we can grow.

Ain't that the truth about all cracks not being equal :) haha. :dog:

Thank you for taking care of me Rick and for the superb customer service. The zap has been one of the best investments I have made and it surprises me every time I use it with it's rich flavorful delivery and ease of use.

Can't wait to get zapping again! will miss it for a few days  , but back to the MFLB for now..

Elluzion,

What a guy!
So I got my updated cord for my Spartan (I had one of the original white ones) and I can say it is a BIG improvement in design. The new factory installed Zap end fits in snugly and has a low profile. And the End that plugs into the VVPS is professionally installed. The cord itself is thinner and lighter then the original white cord and is much less obtrusive and easier to handle. All in all a well done! I can't wait to see the next thing to come out of Zapville.

Am I the only one who likes the white cord? The absolute 'only' downside imo, was the zap end. I am going to buy a new cord as a result of that. But, other than that,,,I love it. Now I need to decide whether to get a new Spartan with the new cord included,,,or just get a new cord for my current VV model. Damn it's hot here today. 101* F right now.

The only problem I had with the white cord (well, the only problem I know of for sure at least) was that the wires in the zap plug would fray over time. I use a bubbler with my zap all the time, and this bubbler requires me to flip my zap upside down and rightside up again, over and over and over. I think that constant twisting of the cord plays hell on those connections.

On the plus side, the white cord setup allows you to verify the correct voltage coming from the zap. Since I have both now, I will use the black one for daily use and the white one only to check voltage regularity from time to time.

TheDudeNextDoor,
I constant flip mine and I still use the white cable, (knock on wood) love the cable and will use till can no longer.

Received the Spartan :)
It is definitely a lot smaller than I expected. I think I was expecting something 2-3x as big ha. Had to spice it up with a Pharaoh, now just have to wait to get my zap back! :p ps, the power adapter that plugs in is awesome! Great new design Rick! I'm all ready to do some "tattoos" :dog:

My new CRZ and VVPS shipped yesterday and will hopefully be here tomorrow. I have the day off so this will give me plenty of time to get acquainted with my new friend. I will post some pics when I can. Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there!

So, while searching the aromazap sit I noticed the sweet ass.little bubble that is now for sale there. I f'ing love it... I can see that baby sitting on my table looking just like an old oil lamp. In-cog-nito! Thing is, I havnt seen any pictures of it in use. Right now all,i have to use is my LSV which has the all glass path, yada yada... I was serching for a more conservative option... Dont feel like rigging a small bowl for her so im shopping logs now... And that bubbler may be a deal maker for me :)

Hey Farscape since I own one of Ricks bubblers going chime in as a big yes. I have been really happy with mine, it's a really easy way to cool the vapors. Rick includes a shorter stem with it so everything balances well and fits well. If looking for a easy way too cool a log vapor this is a very good route I feel.

If any downfalls it would be it works sometimes too well easy to get monster hits and use a tad more material of course getting that huge hit may be worth it for some.

Other suggestion would be to read last few pages Rick in now offering a couple of different model power supplies... being able to dial in temperature really make the logs now a full service devices. Having a bubbler and also the power supply really is the best way to go if you you have the funds.

I was contemplating the bubbler as well :), it is pretty beautiful like an old oil lamp. I don't know if it would get away with being fully in-cog-nito though ha :p

FC: Before I dive in though, I was wondering whether it could be laid side ways without spillage or not?

My CRZ arrived today, and I couldn't be more pleased. As noted previously, I ordered the Spartan VV PS to go along with it. Plugged everything up and set it to 13.5v, allowed a generous warm up time, and just took my first hit. Wow! Very clean, fresh flavor. The effects take a bit of time to hit you fully, but it feels great!

This is my first experience with a vape other than a friend's NO2. Obviously this produces much superior results.

I got my CRZ today as well. :) It is a bit shorter and muck skinnier than my PD. The vapor is very clean and even at 14.2 on the VV PS the leftovers ends up a much lighter color than the PD. I started at 13.5 and worked my way up. One tube and I am cooked. Time to head outside and enjoy the afternoon.

Wow, that's cool JH0803 and Josh! The CRZ is so easy to dial in and get wonderful vapor with the VV! I recently got a new cord for mine. I like the fact that it seems a little more flexible then the cord to the orininal standard power source.

Jeppy,
I absolutely agree that the VV PS is easy to use and allows so much flexibility. Setting it to 13.5 gives me wonderful flavor with a crisp head high. 13.9, which is the highest voltage I've tried yet, is somewhat harsher in flavor with a stronger body high, including some couch lock and sedation. The latter is pretty close to the high I usually got from smoking. Voltages in between allow you to have different proportions of these effects.

I'm looking forward to experimenting with a temporary homemade bong so I can cool down those hits when using higher voltages. Funds permitting, I'll be picking up a zapbubbler in then next month.
