Just received my Ultra with LV dart. I'm amazed how small the Ultra is, it can fit in an Altoid case along with a couple of batteries. Taste is OK so far, I can only imagine the taste gets better as it stars to break-in. The battery doesn't really get hot as the T1, even if I take hits simultaneously. Loving it so far!

one question, I accidently charged the AW 14500 on 650mA for a few minutes, does that damage the battery?

Congratulations. There's a lot to like with it for sure. Not to worry about the high current charge. First off, ti's not that high. 1C rates (600 mA) is a generally recommended charge rate for this type. In the case of IMRs, which are pretty darn tough, charge rates even twice that should be shaken off easily. I usually charge mine at that rate (650), FWIW.

It's normal for the batteries to run cooler, they're not working nearly as hard here. T1 runs more than 3 times the power....it's gonna get hotter.

You should also be careful with how much exposed metal ends up in that tin box, get a short on one of the IMRs and the sun will come up in your pocket.......

Dude, you have no idea how intense of a mental picture that created...

And I did not know I was able to charge these on the higher setting. Now I can charge 17670's and 14500's without changing a thing!

Batteries in those original tubes of course, then inside the tin :p

Thanks. Actually that's what I was hoping for to convey how bad it might get with all that energy and thin metal around. I know a guy that had a similar melt down happen on some gear he was working on, bits of molten metal got fired into his skin (burned in good a proper). He said the doctor cutting them back out again hurt all the more later on. Even with the Novocaine. He said the Codeine was OK, though. Something worth avoiding. Teaches a guy new respect for the very high power levels available sometimes. This is one of those cases. Hard to stay cool with a vape in one hand when your trousers burst into flames.....someone is likely to notice and comment.

Yes, the only time I drop down in charge current on mine is for the 10440s and if I'm feeling in the mood with RCR123A (which I tend to pity, they take a beating for sure). The lower charge rate might add a few cycles to the service life but we're killing it fast on the other end and the abuse of a 3 or more C charge is really minor until hot batteries come into the picture.

Good call. Also I think you'll find the top from Chapsticks works great. As do the caps MF uses. Only has to be one one end, of course.

That's awful. Hopefully the edges weren't serrated... :cry:
But I have a hard time imagining anything smooth and easy to remove within that tragedy.

I feel pity, too. The least I do is keep them in their own speshul cases.
Speaking of which... Do you know of any dedicated 17670 cases? I have a couple for 18650s, but when I put the 17670s in there, they rattle, and that bothers me...
Only time it doesn't is when they're being used.

Well I've had a hard time deciding between a revolution and a persei. I guess it came down to not wanting to deal with cartridges burning out, priming, etc. Also delta9 seems to release something each day and i don't like being nicked and dimed.

So I went ahead and got a revo with a dart and a pure flow addon. I'm hoping I made a right choice and thank TV for offering the fathers day discount on top of it.

Yeah, he described them as kind of little splatters, even offered to bring 'em in.... I passed. How strange is that to keep as a memento?

I use some nice cases I got somewhere, I think I saw them on Madvapes the other day? Hold two 18650s fine, probably just what you have? I had the same issue, so I cut a piece of the foam sheeting you get stuff shipped in sometimes. You know the stuff, maybe 1/8 inch thick, slick foam comes on a roll? A piece of tape holds it in place when there's noting in the box. I also keep a few spare 5/8 screens under it for use with the T1 (on top of the load), BTW. Anyway, the foam kills the rattle just fine.

How many grams have you put through yours? My replacement has maybe a gram through it and is already clogged and leaking, and I was using preemo stuff...

I've come to the conclusion the the dart is simply impractical for regular use, maybe if you use it once in a blue moon or something, but every dart/revolution I've had so far suffers from catastrophic performance decline the more you use it. Cleaning is simply not 100% effective and as such the dart's window of functionality gets smaller each time...

Honestly it's frustrating enough to make me not use it... longevity is something I value in $60 carts...

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
FWIW, I've been using my Dart daily for over a week now, ran about 3 grams of BHO through it. I've cleaned the mouthpiece/dart side once so far, just a quick ISO soak. No leaks to speak of.

Loving this rig actually, and use it daily at the office. Pretty stealth.

Make sure to do a 20/20 burn after you clean the core, you can also do a 20/20 in between re-loads to burn off any built up contaminants.

The Dart does best with about .1 .3, although many have tried and succeeded with putting more in.

Yes, I like to do a 20min ISO soak first to loosen everything up, then do a 20min boil in water, then i put it in an oven at ~150 for 20 min to dry it out. Then make sure to do a 20/20 burn before you reload it (20sec on, 20soc off, repeat about 10-15 times). This will ensure a long trouble free life of the core

well well well after a throwing a whole dart in pieces, smooth flow, and 2 other lv darts in 99% iso shake, 20 min boil, a nice oven bake wait for it all to dry, 20/20 burn, then loaded up a nice tasty dab, on the dart. Smooth again my friend thanks Tim :cheers:

Just cleaned my dart for the first time and I noticed during the 20/20 burn I could see the glow of the element on one side like there was missing ceramic a moon shaped sliver Did i chip it or was this gap always there and i just never noticed? thanks!

Yes, it's intentional. They showed me the tray of disks, all the same. It's where air vents up through from the ports below so you can sweep the vapors out of the DART and into your one and only body.

help a noob here...so how often do you do a 20/20 cleaning? between each reload? and also how often should i do a hot water plus iso bath wash? i use bho only.

VN, I would let performance and hygiene guide your cleaning decisions. These little guys are pretty robust so there can be some flexibility in the methods used. I mainly just iso soak and warm water rinse and reserve boils for tougher jobs.

I'm with t-dub here as well. I've done a 20-20 burn a couple of times, after really fouling it badly with lots of bubble hash and kief. Otherwise milder methods are better I think.

You also need to remember after a cleaning you're going to have to put 150 or 200 mg (say a 1/6 of a gram?) in to get it 'conditioned' and going again. I think, in general, some guys clean more often than is reallly called for. I'm probably into my third gram on the DART at present and it's doing fine (well it's a little flooded since I screwed up and put another charge in when it got too slow....the battery was weak, again....).

I recommend waiting until you have good reason to clean it.

Yes, that was my intent. I'm not sure it's the best term, but it is commonly used for similar situations.

There's no need to add it in two steps if you understand it I think. I put 3 or 4 times the amount I'd add later on to 'top it up' in use and expect some useful vapor, hopefully without minor flooding. When that vapor starts to die off, I'll add the normal amount again if it looks at all dry on the surface and be back 'in the groove'.

So after my darts first cleaning the mouthpiece does not want to go in the dabber and the dabber does not want to fit correctly into the unit. the o rings feel stiffer. I was considering lubing it up with some pg but I want to avoid the taste. Does this normally happen after cleaning? Maybe my oven runs hot and I dried out the rings?
