At this moment am only selling short LB Stems. What Vikki got was a purple shorty LB Stem.

VnS, I have not heard anyone say how it fits in the 103. Have heard the 104-7 fits really well. Maybe the 103 was made with a larger OD than the newer models. Hm pls do tell how it works.

Yea the glass stems fit nice and tight in my solo with the o-ring and your stem even with the o-ring fits loosely. I mean it isn't loose to where it's falling out just looser then my glass straight tubes.

I think you are the first to have a 103.

Ed's TnT,
Ok so I tried it. I really like the taste and how much it cools down the vapor. Although is the SS part supposed to slip off of the wood? Because now it won't go back on unless of course I glue it?

vapeNstone, try wrapping a small piece of paper around where the SS should be, then carefully slide the SS over that, and it creates a shim. I had to tap mine down with a hammer, protecting the eneds w/ a bit of tubing. It was an easy fix, and now it stays on all the time. Aparently the heat from the Solo shrunk the wood just enough for it to slip off. Mine did it too, and this fix has been working fine.

If you wanna send it back i will reimburse you the shipping and throw in some freebies to make up for it. I apologize for the inconvenience!

Thanks for your input JBP!

Hey Ed ! what would you say is the best or easiest way to gather the resin from the wood stem?

The only way that I have found to clean the wooden stems is to take a pipe cleaner dipped in ISO and run it through. You DO NOT want to soak the wood stems. Short of soaking the pipe cleaners, I don't see how you can reclaim though. :2c:

Anyone else out there got any ideas?

ISO = 8 bucks for 100ml :(

Well it seems that I might stop using the wood stem because of the gathering... (at home, wood is a must outdoors)

Wow m0sh, that's a lot for ISO! It only costs me $2 for a quart of it!

You could use a high proof grain alcohol too.

Mosh i gotta believe it shouldnt be hard to clean the wood at all, simply soak a cotton ball, mash out the excess an push through using the ram rod, let it dry and vape the cotton like Vito does. Easy peasy repeat the cotton ball until it pushes through clean. That oughta do it.

Thanks for the input Mom, you know i appreciate ya!

Glad you are happy rufrothy. Hope you enjoy it for a long time to come!

Just spun a beautiful two tone amboyna solo tube and african blackwood both super nice!

I knew it would PanicFreak, you need to get ya a Solo, I know you would enjoy it and also know I got something special for ya! Those dugouts you saw are some of the first and probably the last of that species I will ever do. One of my customers sent me a $1000 worth of museum grade Australian burl blocks for some custom dugouts, well burl being burl it usually isnt kiln dried and no matter what tends to hold moisture alot longer than normal lumber, so needless to say they had quite a bit of moisture. Not cool at all, out of a 12 pieces of each species, was able to finish 4 pieces. These are beautiful and very well made but still subtle flaws due to the moisture content. I told my gut this will be the last time I ever do any custom work for anyone that sends me their own wood. If you cant guarantee bone dry and it shows up here with more than I like then I am sending it back to ya! I think Alan is the only one that has seen my shop, I guess I need to take some shots and let you all get a better look inside where the magic happens!

Well I found out something rather not encouraging, the caps you see on the above pieces are standard caps, not custom like I thought they said when I sent the a Solo tube for custom fit. Thing is these fit tight, when the tube is hot they slide on well, but when pushed all they way over the SS they are hard to get off. The do fit but is super tight, almost have to fight to get em off. Hm so if I wanted the a little less tight I would have to pay for tooling at the company which can cost $10-15k, that is just out of the question! I think I am gonna get a dozen or so and ship some out to user for y'alls thoughts. I know the SS gets hot and have burned myself a couple of times. You wouldn't think things would be this hard to find. Did have a though last night about a nice little short hemp sock that could be slid over the end. Just need to find someone that will do the work for me. I dig hemp and think a sweet little short hemp sock would be bad-ass to have to instead of the black cap you see above. So give me a little time to see what I can make happen.

Check out this awesome African Blackwood Tube I spun yesterday. I know a few folks have blackwood tubes for the CRZ and can tell ya how sweet they finish, its a super dense wood and finishes like glass! It has a high glossy finish and feels so smooth in your hand and on your lips!

I hope all is well out there and wish everyone the best! Have a meeting with a guy in Jackson, MS. this morning to help me grow my business, he has started his business making it to be one of the most successful eCommerce sites & software in the country. I started a small business class 6 weeks ago and just graduated last night. Met some really great people and made some great contacts, am looking forward to the future more so than ever. Found out I could get a small business loan for up to 35K for 7 years at 4.75% interest with only 10% down. Really want to start off 2013 with a loan that will afford me to buy another building and outfit it with new machinery and tooling to make my vaporizer come to fruition as well as taking over some of the stuff I have to outsource. Even looking to hire a coupe full time employees next year also. Am really excited about the future yall and wanna thank you all for being part of the past and hope you all look forward to the future as much as I!

that is great news for ed's tnt.. wish you luck for the next year and I know you are gonna do well.. Should have the new pics of the Coco and Granadillo Solo tubes tomorrow, am really anxious to see what my guy has done! Been busy this last week, my oldest 10 yr. old boy won league champions for 9-10 yr old little league baseball, the team got a big trophy and all had a great season. We squeezed in some time Friday to jump on the 4wheeler and ride dirt roads hunting wild blackberries. We found a few honey holes and picked about a gallon. Oh they were big fat ones some big as the end on my thumb still red, had some rain yesterday so by this Friday they should be black and ripe for the picking. We boiled some shrimp, taters, and corn last night and the Mrs. Ed put those BB in a cobbler. OOOOO had it with some home made vanilla blue bell ice cream!! Watch out!

Ed, that two tone Amboyna Solo tube is absolutely stunning! Your work never ceases to amaze. I think we have 9 of your tubes now (for PD/MZ/CRZ) and can see the evolution of your products. Our oldest (Cocobolo) has a much longer metal tube section, while the newer ones show less metal and more wood - just lovely!

Congrats on the small business class and all the good things coming your way!

Oh it was great, like I said the Mrs. Ed knows how to cook! You can see my youngest in the top pic trying to grab another mouth full. All our hands were purple from picking that day and even had a few briars in em too.

Just acquired a 5400 year old piece of Ukrainian Bog Oak. They get in from a depth of 25 meters under layers of sand and sludge. Found this guy last week and have been rapping with him since. Oh there is gonna be some great stuff coming from his way. He has over 25 different species he has recovered from waters in his region.
