Vicki, if you have a particular one in mind, shoot Rick an email. Although he's pretty good about checking in here on the thread, he may not see your post in time and someone else might snap it up...

Should this happen, it wont be the end of the world. I find one I want in every damn batch Rick puts up!

Stealth, I knew Rick would hook you up! ;)

Ok, mom, I didn't know that! Thank you! :D

I was looking at the Walnut, but some of the others keep catching my eye too. I also still need to convince hubby that I even need another vaporizer too. I realized that if I just bought it without telling him, I might end up in the same boat as BigDaddy! :uhoh:

Thank you for fixing the code, Rick! :)

***I didn't notice this before, but some of the Zap's I've been considering are out of stock!! Oh well, I guess I'll just keep checking back....

Shopping for a zap is half the fun. The problem is, after you've got one, you keep seeing others that you also 'just gotta have'. :love:Of course Rick's attitude is that one zap just ain't enough-you need one for every room. ;)

Actually, I think that's me who has that attitude. Rick is much more down to earth than that! Of course, I don't think he's bothered too much that some of us want that many! ;)

What a guy!
Happy Friday All. I've had a chance to play around with my new VV PS (Stealth) and a new Glass Tooty, I have to say both make the Zapville experience even better. I'll tell you why in a sec but first I want to do some thing that I have been meaning to do, and that is tell you about my experiences with my Zap and Rick.

First off about my Zap. I bought a cherry Zap from Rick about a month and a half back. It was my second vaporizer, my first being an N02 (which I still like using). But I really wanted a no muss/no fuss kind of vaporizer that I could leave out on my desk and it would blend with the odd collection of things on my desk. After some looking around and checking out various vapes I settled on the CRZ. Boy am I glad I did. first off this is exactly what I wanted. it's efficient, looks good and there's practically no maintenance involved. Love it. But not only that but I love the customer service too. I had some questions, and like some others recently here, I was baffled by how to replace a screen (since there were replacements included with my Zap). Well I'm glad to say Rick got right back to me in less than 24 hours. And oddly (for 2012 anyway) he cares about how much I enjoy my Zap. He wants me to be happy with it. And I've seen him take care of others here on FC. that's just impressive to me.

I had only one thing that I wanted to change, like some others here on FC my power grid seemed to effect the performance of my Zap. While my Zap produced vapor at any time, I found that it was at it's best starting about 7 or 8pm when I assume power usage went down. This was great for late night gaming sessions but what if I wanted the same experience at say 1 in the afternoon? what then? well then it was still good but not great. Then talk here turned to variable volt power supplies (took me a while to figure out what VV meant). well my Zap is happily plugged into one right now. It's about 1 in the afternoon the dial is set 14.01 and I am getting the smoothest, nicest, thickest draws right now, with the same great efficiency as always. and the glass Tooty makes it even better. My lips don't come away feeling all dry, nor does the stem stick to my lip when I put the Zap down, dumping everything in my lap (not that this happed to me once or twice).

All in all everything, and every contact I've had with Rick and Zapville have been nothing short of great.

I never do this either, taking the time to write a review, I'm more of a lurker. but if you're like me and new to vaping, and are looking for an all around great vape, do yourself a favor and go ahead and get yourself a Zap.

^is a real live person who doesn't know Rick and really only found this thread buried in a Google search buried around page 5 pages in but just loves his Zap.

Good Monday morning.
Looks like things have been nice and quiet here at Zapville@ FC.com.
That's a good thing.
Hope everyone is feeling good and ready to start the long hot summer they say is coming.
Our black cords with the factory installed Zap plug should be here tomorrow. As I mentioned earlier, we will be doing those for the VV power supplies. Out with the heavy white with green/black plug and in with the stocker black. I'll post something soon when it all comes together. The brushed SS Spartan VV power supplies are in stock now, waiting on the new power cords.
NewVape, thanks much for taking time to do the nice review.

Awesome Rick looking forward to getting a new cord. I do have a question will the stealth unit be able to run 2 units?

I also have had a lot of time to play with the VV ps and really liking it. Been using it this week with the bubbler and the the Rockzap. This setup allows me to take it to a even higher temperature. Really it has helped with pain.

I feel being able to control the heat has made this unit much more valuable of a device from medical standpoint. When your battling pain daily just having some control..other than just more pills means more than most people ever would understand .....and I really hope they never have too.

Thanks Rick for continue to expand with new products and accessories along with taking in customer feedback to improve your products.

I was thinking about ordering the new VV PS, but lately (after giving my stem it's first ever cleaning out) I'm getting even dark dark brown ABV with my wristband coozie  real nice. The less restricted airflow definitely makes a huge difference as my screen was a bit clogged earlier. I will definitely order one somewhere down the line though haha, sometimes my CRZ runs a little warmer during the day

Thats how I feel, Twzted. I like the concept, but my CRZ (especially now that we have been having some really warm days here) is a HOT one. I wouldnt imagine turning it up at this point. but thats not to say i think the variable voltage wouldnt be a fun thing to have ;)

OK, so i finally have some time to do this. first before i review Rick's products i'd like to review Rick. I have bought two zaps from him over the years as well as some accessories. any time i have ever e-mailed rick with a question he has always gotten back to me in well under 24 hours, with a very helpful response. unfortunately i did have an issue with my second Zap (bad wood for a zap), I made Rick aware of it, and he offered to replace the shell with no hassle. so in summary Rick is great, always quick and helpful responses. he handled my problem excellently, and anytime i've seen someone else with an issue he always handles it just as well.

now onto the review of the products. don't think that the talk of issues previously means that these zaps have a lot of issues, because they definitely don't. it is an extremely durable vape, that will last a very long time, and requires essentially no maintenance. the product works great, i personally don't know of any vaporizer more efficient than Ricks (maybe other log vapes are comparable, but i've never used them), Rick's vapes are also extremely easy to use, suck herb into the stem, stick stem into the vape, inhale. it's even easier than i make it sound, it takes about 2-5 seconds to suck weed in to the stem, it takes another 2-5 seconds to pick up the vape and stick the stem in, and then you immediately get vapor when you inhale. so in less than 10 seconds you can easily have vapor in your lungs. the vapes are extremely efficient, but they can also pack a punch. much more often than not when i'm hitting my MZ or my CRZ my lungs can't handle any more vapor well before they fill up.
now, to review the accessories which really make a difference. the VV PS allows my zap to be at functioning temps in less than 15 minutes, i don't know the exact amount of time, but i've gotten very thick clouds after less than 15 minutes. the actual time may very well be much less than this. it also allows you to fine tune what temp you want your zap to sit at.
the bubbler... oh wow. i can't tell you how great that thing is. it is perfect for this vape. extremely easy to use, i can use it at more than a 45 degree angle without even a hint of a problem. it's easy to use and it works incredibly, vapor is 100% cooled to room temperature even if the water is room temp, and it just makes the whole experience nicer.

Stealth, I'm glad you and Rick got it sorted out. With my Myrtle, if I draw past 9-10 seconds my weed is black. So a 7 second pull is the max for a thick cloud!! That will never happen with my CRZ, even after a full 60 second pull. What is better, is the quality of the vapor. :2c:

Maybe that's why I seem to like this vape type so much. :hmm:

Yeah, that too. ;)

Jeppy I don't understand why your Myrtlezap gets so hot. That's not the norm, as far as I know.

Well I have had my zap for a couple weeks and I figure I should show her off.

I haven't had as much time to spend with her as I would like but so far I can say that I have enjoyed it greatly.

Here are a couple shots

I am having a problem keeping the heavier wires into the vvps plug. This started with happen after a couple days use. Rick should I just try and screw down as hard as humanly possible to get the wires top stay? I remember having this issue with the original wires, but because they weren't so heavy the issue wasn't as bad. Picture of my problem:

Also if those wires touch is there a spark worry?

A full review will come when I can.

jeppy, are you talking about a brass zap getting your stuff black... the only time that has happened to me was when I had a loose heater... I can't explain why but I so notice when the heater is loose a brass zap runs hot and when you use a socket and hammer to re set the rings it runs normal... I have no explanation for it but if you have a loose heater try that out and see if that helps it out some.

Rick really is great.
I asked him if he would mind soldering the ends of my wire if i sent it back with my zap. he said no problem. so i mailed my zap back for it's new shell today and forgot to send the cord back. i asked him how much it would cost to send one of the new cords back, he tells me he'd be happy to send one for free for the hassle.
Thanks a lot Rick!

Hey Collegerower,

That doesn't look right at all concerning the wiring..

I would disconnect cord from VV PS asap and fix that.. Simple fix ...once you disconnect it from VV PS use a small screwdriver remove wires re twist and reinslall them.

I could possible seeing you shorting out the VV ps if you don't fix that.

no the stealth only runs one unit unless you have a chord that has two outputs... the vv ps is actually a tattoo power supply which the tattoo gun plugs into left the side of the power supply and the right side jack is for a foot pedal which runs the tattoo gun.. to use the ps on a zap, rick has made a cord that plugs into the ps and zap and a,small metal rod is inserted on the right jack to mimmick a foot pedal.. it is possible to run two zaps with one power supply, just need to make you a cord or get one from zapville...

collegerower, I do not like the plug install we did on the early VV power cord wires. The ends going in the Zap plug are not tinned so the wires spread out when the screws are tightened and can get loose. Once we started tinning the wire ends, that problem went away.
The latest fix is our new black cord with the factory installed black Zap plug. I now only install the plug that goes into the VV PS which is now Silver(first ones were blue). We solder that plug and have two separate layers of heat shrink tubing in the plug for extra insulation and stability. It looks and is a much more professional job than our first power cords. I'll see if I can get a pic up later. The one drawback to these cords is they are all six feet long. I will not splice the extra 2 feet on them for an 8 footer as it will look hokey.

Currently, I am only running one Zap at a time on these power supplies. I made a split power cord with the heavy white wire and it looked way too hokey to sell. I also found voltage fluctuations on the display with two units running at once. That could have been in the cord but I have not confirmed the cord was bad.

The two ports on these power supplies are NOT two power output ports. One port is for a switch and the other port is for power. They can be powered from either port but need a switch in the second port. We use a straight metal tube or rod with a black tube cap on one end for the switch. The polarity of the DC current will change depending on what port you use for the power plug. On the Spartans, using the left port for the power wire gives center pin positive while the right port will give the center pin negative. Does not matter with Zaps or any log vape without an led 'on' light which polarity you use. If you have an old Zap with an on light, the center pin must be positive.

We slowed a bit today. 38 degrees with rain in North Idaho. I am staying out of the cold shop most of the day because I will not build a fire out there. Our shop heater has a horizontal stovepipe coming out of the shop that now has the annual tree swallow nest in it. We have tree swallows everywhere outside and a few barn swallows in the shop, back every year. I have to leave my shop door open for them all summer. Our flying mosquito vacuum cleaners.

Zapworld's Word of the Day: Hokey :D

I think I'm about ready to purchase VVPS. I was holding off because for some reason I didn't think one power supply unit would work equally good for both my underdog & rockzap, but it looks like that shouldn't be an issue.

Now to decide between the stealth:ninja: or the spartan:evil:

Has anyone weighed the amount of herb a stem tip holds? Don't have a scale and I'm very curious.

In my experience it was .03-.04. i used to have a scale that did hundredths(.01), so i would weigh up one tenth of a gram(.1) and see how many bowls it was, usually 2.5 - 3 stem loads. i found this worked better then trying to weigh an individual stem load, as the scale doesnt work very well with only a couple hundredths. but of course it will vary with different buds.
edit: forgot to add this is with an older brass zap, may be different with the new zaps, i dont know ive never seen one. hope this helps.

TerrorTurkey,
I don't believe you can go wrong with the spartan.. I went through two cheaper units before I went ahead and ordered a spartan myself... I am well pleased with the performance and the yellow color is not that bad in person.. I am not a flashy person at all and I don't think it stands out but that being said I plan on getting the spartan silver too.. o yea plan on gettin myself a new and improved cord also...
