But seriously, for someone who flies solo that would be ok. But I am still not clear on what exactly the hammer does.
The hammer is used with a TI nail and herbal water pipes.

Thanks, and I did what I should have done before asking which is search for a video. So now I get it. The Omi has been my first experience into the world of concentrates, so a lot of the gear is still beyond my ken. But that's ok, cause with my Omi in hand I have the only concentrate tool that I personally need.
But that dabber video I found did look fun, and I can see how the persei/hammer makes for a very convenient heat source (but that's for a different topic).

At the moment my cartridge is working very well, just waiting for the better taste
just an update on this:
the taste is getting better!!
Also filled a 2nd 1.5 cartridge yesterday.
Vaped alot with a friend and we had no problems, no clogs, no leaks, no nothing!
Just a bit of a metally taste that I hope will dissipate with usage.
But all in all I'm very happy with these 1.5 carts!!!
Update. I checked my cartridge this morning and now there is a big blob of goo coming out of the bottom. Yesterday, I went to vaperpedia and did all the steps noted to get rid of a clog. I did hear popping sounds several times, but after all that the device heated up, but little or no vapor came out and now stuff is leaking out the other end. What steps should I next take???

i still have never had to probe the bottom hole, and have never had problems with clogging... i dono if its worth the risk to probe the bottom

It depends, newer carts don't have an open-tube bottom hole anyway. I took a pic a while back but newer carts have a covered metal tube with a slit machined in the side, like this:
So probing would just hit a wall.
In the old days I would probe like an alien... rolled up single ply into a needle and felt out the heater and the spaces on both sides, but also probably caused some problems in the process.
Now I don't bother, it's just another loss of concentrate, I just try not to hold the power too long and try to suck any leaks out the top so it flows back down.

I agree, although I'll still try to clean up leaks as they start. I'm with Joe here, this probably started with too much heat (on too long) with 1.5 Ohm carts unless I miss my guess? They seem to overheat and leak much easier to me. And once started, are harder to stop. I wonder if overheating doesn't actually damage the seals where the heater element runs through them?
Is there any way to tell which you have? That is is there any markings or other clues? Some of us are interested you know......

The same thing happened to me. What is the temperature where it's being stored? Higher temperatures can cause leaking.

I have a 2.4 that I filled with about .6-.7 grams of wax, hit well but I did hit it hard and the cart got hot to the touch.. like OUCH hot. After that I noticed my bottom tube (and bottom only) would plug. The wax would seep into and fill the tube but not leak further than that. A few pins up there (and I haven't been gentle) and a heat and pull through does clear it. However as I use it I can feel resistance sometimes and have to pull a 'pop' with every hit including cooling hits. My fear is that I killed the seals over-hit over-heating. I have .48 grams left in it and I'm trying to decide if it's worth continuing to clear and use or if I should just recover and start a new cart. Opinions?
Also with regard to cart pre-heating and melting down concentrate, I have been using my torch for this which works but I constantly worry that I'm over heating and will damage my seals. I teased G about a electric preheater while reading about people using hair dryers/heat guns. I don't have a heat gun but hair dryer I do have. What is the best method for using a hair dryer? I can't hold the cart in my tender pink fingers!

use pliers or tongs to hold the cart so you don't burn your fingers, or even a thick glove would work...you could also find a way to mount/clamp it to something and then heat it w/ blowdrier...a few ideas anyway...

Thank you, it all fits now. Yes, you did say some upgrade got past you but I was thinking it wasn't complete yet and never put it together that this was involved. So IIRC this is some of the 'other than 2.4 Ohm' carts? That is they only show up on otherwise marked carts (1.5, 3, 4, and 5)? And only some of them?
