Discontinued Purple-Days Vaporizer

Drewper, the American Cherry and the Black Walnut are equals (on average) as far as density and r-value. Black Walnut is a bit more durable / harder, but the same density. Our Western Fiddleback maple is also in the same range. The Myrtle is heavier, denser and lower r-value than the other three and runs a little cooler (on average).

Not sure what happened with Tjums' kit, but of course we are making it good, thanks for your confidence in us, even though we dropped the ball and forgot a couple items.

Nice pics everyone!

Re: the temperature question...just my limited experience: the PD's in the last pic I posted are arranged by perceived temperature. Black Walnut was noticeably cooler than the Myrtle, same goes for the jump to Alder (though these seem to have been closer) and the Cherry was by far the hottest. Its worth mentioning that the Black Walnut pictured was the newest of the bunch and the Cherry by far the oldest (by a considerable margin it seems). Also, the sizes of each body differed enough to make a difference it seems.

stickstones: nice pic but I'm after that one too! Looks like it might be time for a quick cleaning though? Do you notice a difference in taste once the vapor condensate builds up like that? I'm admittedly a bit anal about clean glass but its far from (solely) an aesthetic concern: I can really taste a big difference between a piece of glass that has seen a few stems and one that is nice and clean. I also don't reclaim from my glass so I'm not very invested in 'saving' up the goodies inside the glass. Either way, I like to clean a piece of glass before using it for an extended night-time session.

hereatlast,
It has come to my attention I should enter some glass. This beauty belongs to a friend of mine. Clearly I just tried the PD with a water filtration device and let me say it packs quite a punch! I really hope ClearDome comes back into the fray.

enigmatic...love the love handles on your PD!

hereatlast...I do notice the difference, but not much. I don't reclaim my PD glass cleanings either. Yeah, I'm gonna clean them soon...maybe enter a clean pic!

If you are impatient and can't plan 45 minutes ahead, or being a "weekend vaper" who wants to be stoned beyond imagination when vaping, this may not be the vaporizer for you.

If you are impatient and can't plan 45 minutes ahead, this is a GREAT vaporizer for you in that it is designed to stay on 24/7 (draws only 8 watts.....about 2 night lights worth) and used in this way, it is instant on. No wait time.

Also, the PD will get you just as buzzed as any other vaporizer out there at a given temp. Because of the bowl size, it may take you a bit longer to get there, but you WILL get you there. With top quality bud, many users, including myself, gets totally blitzed on one stem or less being that one stem provides me with 5 hits.

Also, while you mentioned that 0.025gr per bowl is "too good to be true", this is not the case for me in that my bowl will only hold 0.025gr. A lot of this depends on how finely ground your herb is as well as how deep the screen is seated in the stem.

Totally Agree with Iwien, the PD is an excellent vape! It gets me just ripped :p with such a tiny amount. I love my PD, and use it way more than my Extreme Q ;which I also love but don't seam to use anymore :brow:

Irie, those jagitos rock, I am not sure why more glass engineers don't make designs that allow the bubbles to ricochet off of the ceiling like the wheel of a nicely filled jagito does...

Placetime, how come you don't bring some sort of platform for the cows? What a tease to be staring at a PD that is just out of reach! ;p

You guys are really tempting me to post something :D, I am just trying to figure out the perfect pic to post (and break my stubborn, regimented ways  ).

All the decent sized wood from the branch that fell. Less than I expected, mostly smaller branches with lots of leaves.

x2 (or x3?) re: the greatness that are the Jagitos. Nice, smooth and very flavorful. They seem to handle different water levels pretty well too. ;)

Another one from the recent PD shindig. Again, arranged by perceived operating temperatures (lowest to highest, left to right). The first and third are the house PDs here, the other two were (very welcome) guests.

Hey Tom, have you done any more temp. testing with your nifty new thermometer?

Two handmade products made in the USA! Both beautiful. Just received the mug as a gift from my parents. They went to visit my bro.

Oh it will be burned, actually used to heat my sister and brother in law's house in the winter. Not that much for that propose but every little bit helps. And no that isn't vapor, it is coming off of the incense, but I have seen similar clouds. Especially out of the gravity bong, and they are much bigger in size. :ko:

I like the pic because it is like the PD is visiting some distant relatives.
