Two Ounces ABV

Wow I really have saved up a lot, mostly because I didn't know what to do with it. I have like a full jar of ABV and when I weighed it it said 2 ounces. I was wondering if there were any recipes out there that used this much. Otherwise I was wondering if when I made ABV oil if I could just return it to the pan and let it semi- evaporate so I would have a more concentrated powerful oil. Any suggestions?

I don't think oil will evaporate like water or alcohol. I have read that you can reuse the oil though. For instance, you could use a half a cup of oil and a half a cup of abv. Simmer and strain, and then use the infused oil with another half a cup of abv.

Another method that may work for you is to use a half a cup to a cup of oil and use enough water to bring make sure your abv is fully covered. After you strain, you will separate the oil in the fridge or the freezer.

Personally, if I had 2oz of abv, I wouldnt use out all in one big batch. I'd use about a half oz for a batch of brownies, but then I'm usually the only one eating them at my house.

I cook with 1 oz batches of duff, but last time I made a tincture with one oz and used that with another oz of duff for a double strength oil. I described it under the epic brownie thread fairly recently.

Have fun!

.......I just recently made some edibles, I had 64 grams of abv. I took a picture of it with a bic lighter on top (should've prob took it on the scale). I made 72 mini-muffins, and each one had a ridiculously potent euphoric CBD high. Many friends ate 2 or 3, most passed out at some point with them. I was eating like 4 daily, but definitely noticed a lot of stamina loss lol

I made my butter as usual, over about 30 - 45 minutes. Then just strained out all of the abv, and was left with 1 cup of oil. It didn't really seem to matter that I used so much...

Currently making another batch right now, with 14g of many different strains mixed + 50g abv.

I've had some good results with making cannabis butter with ABV. I used roughly 4 oz of ABV to one block of butter.

Granted, it seems impossible to dissolve that much ABV in that little butter. But, if you add it slowly whilst stirring, one can mix in an impressive amount of ABV.

I then separated the ABV and butter using a cheesecloth, and refrigerated the butter. It hardened to a fairly bright green colour, despite the fact the ABV itself was very much brown.

Use a really fine cheesecloth, or 2 layers of a T-Shirt to ensure all the fine particles of ABV are removed from the butter.

Awesome I am gonna try it like this next time, I have been using 2oz of abv per pound of butter.

I'm up over 2+ ounces ABV and I'm either in brainlock or too damn lazy. It doesn't help, that since my wife got her MMJ card, I now have literally 16 different strains to vape from, so haven't been too motivated, with that much choice, to work with dry, brown stuff. But, I'm running out of bottles/room to store it in.

Typically, I do a Barcardi 151 Golden Dragon/Swamp Water tincture... but I hate watching a pot of water (small jar of Barcardi actually) boil. I was thinking of doing a canabutter... but... I dunno.

Sigh...

Have you looked into making canna-oil with the cold infusion method? I originally was exposed to it by JeffP's posts in the orignial Vapor Brownies thread. It is seriously the easiest method ever, and it works. If you have a bunch to play with it'd be worth a try. I made a pan with about 20g ABV, cut into 20 fudgey pieces. They had no taste of abv at all, and knocked everyones socks off :p

Interesting. No, I haven't seen that before and will check it out. What I love about this place... post in the applicable sub-forum and 99.9% chance, someone has a good idea.

Thanks!

P.S. Now 17 different strains (is there, ever too much? I'm honestly asking that question... its seriously screwing with my med intake). Local dispensary is having a $10g special on Blue Cheez. Wife rushed over there.

All Peloton saw in that post was Blue Cheez. LOL!

I could do a full inventory for you, if you want? :D

EDIT: I just checked. 20 different choices, including my Pure GOLD (bliss) oil.

get coffee filters, they work the best. you get completely clear butter, instead of cloudy butter.

i'd say use some water up in that butter, it will take away that abv funk. and if it's super fine, strain thru tee shirt THEN coffee filter so it gets most of the fines out of the way to make for easier straining.

i have an oz just waiting to be turned into candies....

Oh well, first of all, Hi!, since this is my very first post here in FC, I would later introduce myself in the other section or something ;)

But anyway, I have 5 grams of ABV from my MFLB that I want to probably cook some cookies (will be my first time doing edibles from ABV). What you guys think would be a good ratio of butter/ABV/amount of cookies? I don't know how potent ABV turn out to be, so I was thinking on making around 10 mid sized cookies, that way I would know that each one is .5, and adjust the dosage for future occasions.

What you guys think?

in my own experience, one pass through a coffee filter and nothing fine ever gets through but i do also notice if i sieve beforehand, it will filter faster and more productively (less gets stuck in the coffee filter).

depending on how aggressively you vaped your herb, as well as your weight, the potency of your ABV edible will vary. personally, i vape pretty aggressively to the point where majority of the bud is light brown with the centre part (where the hot air passes through) slightly charred. then, i would cook 1 stick butter to 45 grams of ABV, eventually making about 30 cookies per batch. without taking into account material loss from filtering, each cookie SHOULD contain approximately 1.5grams of ABV worth of psychoactive ingredient. However, once you consider material loss through vaping, cooking or filtering, each cookie would be maybe only 20% or so of the original strength.

to put it simply: i weight 190lbs and every night i eat 2-3 cookies (theoretically that's about 4.5g, but practically more likely to be around 1g or so) to get a serious effect. my girlfriend who is about 90lbs, eats only one and as far as i can tell, is almost as fucked up as i am whenever we do it together.

Thanks for the reply.

Well, I vape kind of agressively too, since the last months have been kind of dry, so I had to make the grams count :p I'm 154lb, and my tolerance is the average of a light daily smoker. Hopefully eating at least 3-4 cookied of .5 would give a buzz. In any case, I think is better to start cooking with an small amount, so I don screw up.
