Thanks for that VaporsVaporizer, :)

Do you still use your MFLB a lot or has the DaVinci won its spot? :D

And thank you mephisto. Why do you prefer the Solo at home?

Really impressed by the effort and thought that went into the design of this vape. I am concerned that the woven material covering the silicone is hiding particulate buildup in the straw. The silicone part will require continual replacement as does every other whip vape. I'd suggest a more affordable replacement part without the mesh cover so users have a clear view of the air path.

It can be tricky getting a firm grip on the "handle" to open the storage area.
I had a chance to compare 2 units side by side. Opening the storage bin on mine required a lot of effort (used needle nose pliers). The other I could open with my fingers. For loading though, I really like these little anodized aluminum containers-just the right size. I've posted a link previously, but for latecomers - http://www1.buyincoins.com/details/...e-holder-container-keychain-product-1923.html

Also like these e-cig mouthpiece/drip tips for adding a little extra length to the flexi-straw. The color is perfect and they're cheap. http://www.madvapes.com/Rubber-eGo-Mega-Cartomizer-Round-Drip-Tip_p_3428.html

The straw should last quite a while, but I agree that $15 is more than I'd like to pay for a stem that'll eventually need replacement.

Regarding the straws. Anyone who has already bought a davinci from us either via our karmaclassic website or davincivaporizer website, email me for a special discount offer on flex straws.

Anyone else on FC who owns a davinci and bought it elsewhere, I'll give you a discount as well. Just email me lbarnhart@kamaclassic.com and tell me where you bought your davinci and I'll send you a discount coupon code for flex straws.

Hell, I'll do it on all accessories.

I'll keep this offer open until June 1st.

edit, must mention FC for the discounts and if you bought from us, your order ID and the name you ordered under so we can verify :)

I just got the vaporizer in the mail a few hours ago. I saw a few because it has been on the charger 3 hours. I just took it off and ran my first session though. First impressions. Solid device! Excellent Vapor! This thing will do well for medicating while out and about. It fits in my first shirt pocket and looks pretty inconspicuous there.

Does anyone's unit make a slight whistling noise when you inhale?

With enough use, particles will make their way past the middle screen and onto the upper screen. Mine is starting to get clogged, and it restricts airflow. What is the manufacturer recommended method for removing and cleaning said top screen?

Edit:
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before. Unscrew the straw and you can see down into the hole and see the top screen. I used a small pick to push it out the other side. Cleaning and replacing the screen was simple.

Check out my post about my cleaning method. Worked like a charm, everything went from being clogged and resiny to clean and hit like new.

We're running coupon codes for accessories. You can email me for details. If you're ordering your DaVinci directly through us at http://www.davincivaporizer.com let me know and I'll throw in a free gift :)

In fact, I'll do that since we're coming up on a Memorial day weekend. Order directly from us and get a free gift. Place an order of at least $25 between now and Tuesday and get a free random gift. What could it be? Each order will be different, but I know you'll enjoy each one.

After you place the order, email me from the email address you used to place the order and I'll make sure your gift goes out.

Hey everybody :)
This is my 1st date with FC .... Cheers 8)
However this is a sad moment for me ....
I live in Latvia , and vaping is soooooo underrated here .... Nobodys know what it is, and im not gonna even talk about using .... We have about 2mil. Population, and about i guess 300 000 recreational users :D and it seems like we have only 2 vulcanos in whole country, one of them is mine, and i FUCK combustion , cuz i love it ... Maybe even worship it as well :D but hey- we all know how cool it is to get that tasty aromatherapy mj vape outdoors , and this was the moment when my portable vaporizer jorney began .... Solo was the most apreciated but ohh well- imidiately it was clear to me- no fucking glass... Glass just atracts falling ... Had so many glass pieces and its just too painful to see them broken again and again... + i wanted solid piece and true portability to vape in malls , cinemas n shit... AND THEN I CAME TO DAVINCI... I saw every article in google about it (without forums, cuz i , dont know why, just hated forums(havent even registrred for one :D ). And then some
Miracles happened and i was sucked in grasscity and ohh boy, got a lot of information about tokin, and about me precious.... DAVINCI .... It seemes perfect ... Fits, looks, oil and solids can, dig.temp., 2chambers.... What else could i need in vape...

And from now on this goes to LANCE 8) :

I couldnt wait anymore , and bought one on ebay (cuz i was sure it wont be possible to deliver this to my hometown)
Seller noticed :

PLEASE NOTE: Every item we sell is the genuine, original product, purchased through nationwide distributors and they are sold wholesale to our store with manufacturer's warranty included.

What could go wrong , right?! :) WRONG ...

A week later came up with this asome community an read all 23 pages ...
My heart startes to beat faster when i saw Lance post about warranty, AND THAT IT COULD BE NOT AVAILABLE , to guys who buy davinci on ebay... At this point i just knew - im fucking scamed ....

Lance, isnt there realy a way to get this autorization of sellers and warrantys right?
Its almoust impossible to know it before makong huiuuge research, and this is a first time ive ever seen this trick.... I havent used any Warrantys in my lifetime, but saw some commnt of broken unit heaters and dig.temp disp. ... I this got me really afraid that i could loose some 250bucks ...

Lance please make me feel at least a little happier.. :( :( :(

Thanks for the positive comments and reviews. As for a few problems with some units, we're happy to get replacements to you as soon as possible. Unfortunately, when you're working with electronics, there are always little things that can go wrong. It's all about taking care of the problems and ensuring our customers become fans.

Here's what happens when someone who doesn't really vape much reviews a DaVinci
http://gizmodo.com/lightning-review/

Anyone want to come to our defense and educate this guy? ;-)

I don't mind middling or negative reviews, but hate when the reviewer doesn't really review the product or seem to know anything about it :)

Had a couple of Margaritas tonight...getting ready to run some Maple Leaf organic for my first experience with the DaVinci.....keep you posted.... for what I've read in this post...I have a GOOD feeling that I will be smiling....by the way..I DO love my Iolite...never done me wrong...absolutely no grief...it was a difficult decision to buy the DaVinci...when the Iolite was delivering in flying colors...

I could write him a long, detailed email as to why he's clueless, including all my credentials, but even if I gave him reason to rethink his review, he'd never acknowledge it. That would mean admitting that he's not as brilliant as he pretends to be, and 'image' is what's important.

This comment alone shows he's ignorant about vaporizers. I guess he expects the storage capacity of a car battery in a pocket vape-

"the battery life is shit (3 hours max per charge)"

Naive readers will buy his uneducated review, but they're the same ones who think that Consumer Reports is all you need in order to find the 'best' products.

I've never had an iolite failure either, going back to '08 when it was introduced, but I much prefer this one for the way I use a portable. If you like to really 'load up' that big iolite bowl (and deal with the ABV taste that involves), the DV may not be for you, but my portable sessions don't go on and on, and I don't find reloading this model much of a chore anyway.

I always thought it was weird that people are sending their vaporizers to Gizmodo to review. That is like having Elton John appraise jewelry. Just cause he wears it does not mean he can appraise it. Just because they smoke/vape from time to time does not mean they are qualified to review such a product. The review was just terrible. It reads like... I have to write this because I got a free product.

I have been spending ALLOT of time getting my new site up and running. Each article takes me several hours in order to complete. I have to do the writing, editing, photographs, and video. Clearly this person ran one load through the device and typed up a quick review.

Personally, I hate the ioLite. I got mine back in 2009. It still works BUT I hate almost everything about it. It is loud, the butane is gross, the vapor is wispy, and taste bad. The newer generation of portables pretty much wipe the floor with the ioLite.

I need to get the review written for this one. I took the pictures.

It's a worthless review because he obviously has no knowledge of current vaporizer technology and the competition.

The vapor isn't wispy once the bowl gets heated up. I've been using this model for almost 4 years. If you think it's wispy for a fixed temp portable, you're welcome to your opinion, but I'd have to disagree. As for taste, it only gets bad near the end of the bowl, or if you load it up. It's ABV taste, not iolite taste.

The newer generation of portables pretty much wipe the floor with the ioLite.
And which battery powered vape would wipe the floor with it on a extended camping trip where you have no AC to recharge? Gonna take a whole box of batteries with you? A big can of butane comes in pretty handy in that situation. The iolite and wispr have a place in the market, and IMO that'll be the case for years to come. Sounds like I'd disagree with your iolite review as much as I disagree with this bozo's review of the DV on gizmodo.

The vape industry has gotten to the point where there are many good choices and particular needs, and well as personal preference, come into play for selection. It's not just a matter of ranking them as 1,2,3, etc. There are categories and niches. The DV fits my needs and preferences well, but it's not gonna be ideal for eveyone's portable likes and needs.

Well that is my personal opinion. The review is totally different entity entirely. I don't write a review based on just what I think about it. I try and write a review from several perspectives. What the target audience would think. What I think. What poeple who dislike it might think. I try and combine all of those views into one viewpoint. I would never say something like "I hate it" in a review I write.

I will be recommending it because it has a place in the market. Personally, I just don't like it. I don't go camping and am never without power so that is not an issue. Even if I loose power at home I have a gas generator to keep me up and running. If travel I tend to have to bring my photographic equipment with me. I have a power station that I can use to charge things. It would allow me to charge the portable devices on the road if I really needed to.

Part of the taste that I am talking about is the smell of the butane from the device. The smells combined with my taste of the vapor to kind of give it a strange taste on my pallet. You do also get that ABV taste you mentioned if you load to full towards the end of the session.

I have yet to try a whispr. I have no idea if it is any better or if I would like it more. I was very impressed that I was able to fire it back up with out using my ioLite for 2 years.

Anyway I don't wan too take this thread too far off topic.

So far I have been very pleased with the DaVinci. I feel like it works very well. I have a few design ideas that would improve a couple of the issues. The fact that you don't have a straight shot to the bowl is annoying. The biggest concern I have is keeping the unit clean in the long run. I am cleaning mine with ISO every 3rd session to try and keep it proactively clean. If you had a straight shot to the bowl chamber I would not have that issue as much.

I sent this person an email and told him that his battery criticism alone ("the battery life is shit (3 hours max per charge") made it clear that he knew nothing about the vape market or current battery technology, and that he should stick to reviewing products that he actually understood. That was as derogatory as I got, yet his only response was "Wow. You are a major league asshole". Responding to legitimate criticism with nothing but name calling pretty much says it all about Mr. Gizmodo, and confims my previous statement about him- "even if I gave him reason to rethink his review, he'd never acknowledge it."

Good. It's fine to include personal preference in a review, but it should labeled as such, and not influence the whole review.

See, this is what I like to read in reviews. Actual criticisms and suggestions for improvement. We don't expect to get 5 star ratings across the board with every reviewer/user. Our product has it's niche and we feel it fills the niche well. We also know that we're just not for every one.

We really do respect each review and opinion, especially of actual users of vaporizers. That's how we can continue to improve our product. A lot of the features in the DaVinci we added during the last 30-60 days leading up to production and some after an initial beta run. It was based on feedback from users, industry people and our own field research.
