Yeah I've seen a fair amount of sprayed weed here in the UK. Here its usually sugar or salt solution which is then dried off leaving what appears like super crystally bud but its just shit and has no fruity smell at all. One time I got hit with a bag that had a very synthetic chemical citrus smell just like Raid insect killer. . . Totally sucks but I've rarely lost more than £10, I wouldn't buy more off someone I didn't know. Things are looking up nowadays and I don't feel I get a bad deal any more though. I mean it costs £12.50 a gram nowadays but is generally high grade and my close friend is doing a grow so I'm in the clear but many people are still getting ripped off.

EDIT: Tests for sprayed weed round here: If you burn a nug just on a surface it usually sparks and fizz's as the sugar ignites. Also the ash on the end of a joint goes hard and you cannot just flick it off, you have to push it against something. The ash also goes oily instead of just powdery.

Not to hijack this thread but I thought this might be of interest to some of you

Like you said something chemical bit of a citrus/amnesia smell. It's not as noticeable as before, you have to be very picky about your stuff to notice something's wrong. Sometimes there also seems to be like some micro-particles you cannot detect easily. I once made butter with a friend's weed and I had some kind of dust coming of on the surface of the water, really dirty. Throwed everything away:ugh:

Here in Eugene Oregon, I'm paying between $150 and $175 per ounce for super highgrade! That's about half of what it cost around here 15 years ago!

Halifax, Nova Scotia we never pay more than $10/g straight up, unless a dealer is picking on some new smoker/not outspoken person. Not to mention it's beyond easy to find bombs around here (literally you have to go on a search for mids).

If you don't know a dealer, you generally end up paying $30-$35 for 1/8 and $60-$70 for 1/4.

If you're buddies, you can get it for significantly less depending on how much the dealer is pushing. My buddy's sister picks up for me now because they can get it for $3-$5/g now no matter how little they are picking up because they've gotten so close, and this is for absolutely insane stuff too (and we're one of Canada's biggest, if not the biggest, weed cities, so when I say it's bomb, it's bomb).

It's been a few years now that my friends have it for free. I give them a large supply of what I produce, no one should pay for something that grows in nature. A few years ago I went to visit family in New-Caledonia, my cousin took me to a traditional kanak village, after a small gift to the elders we got plenty of free weed as a gift for us to take home, it was not that strong but it was a lot and since then I am convinced that everyone who has plenty around him should share with less lucky people. Share the love:leaf:

I buy mine at the dispensary. I usually vape anywhere from an 1/8th to 1/2 Oz a week depending on what I have to do and how I feel. I like to try new more pungent and frosty nuggets of private reserve strains, currently I am in love with the abusive cut OG. Costs anywhere from 45-60 per 1/8th & 180-240 per half oz. I average around an eight a week + 1g of top shelf oil. But on vacay I splurge :D (including nights and weekends :D). I know their are better deals out their but I like quality over quantity.

I've read nothing but good reviews about Abusive! I'm hoping to get an eighth of it if it shows up at my co-op.

I'm also looking for someone locally that can grow my 12 plants, I'd ideally only want what 2 of what my 6 mature plants yield, make it into BHO, and then see about getting it to patients that need it. Such a shame that some places charge $25-30 for a HALF GRAM!!

Well I've seen some that pride themselves on their $25 grams and $75 quarters. Fucking ridiculous, IMO. This damn thing doesn't take more than $75 to grow, and a plant can yield ounces! Some/most are in it for the profit. I, however, don't really care for the money involved. Cannabis has helped me in so many ways that I feel like I'm indebted to it and should spread it for low low low 'compensation' as some would call it. I have gained back the 14-17lbs I lost from taking tramadol for my joint pain, it just gave me so much nausea that I would refuse to eat more than one meal total a day. I went down to 114ish which is underweight for me. I'm back to 128 as of Friday afternoon! Just perfect. And I did it all with a bit of medicine in the vaporizer, and some ABV-infused peanut butter :) Helped incredibly with my joint pain along with my non-opioid medication, it helped me eat a normal 3 meals a day plus snacks :D!

I wish this stuff was available for anyone that needed it. It's improved my quality of life by 1000%.

It's really cheap to grow. Is it not tax related? I assume you have to pay a lot of taxes to keep such a controversial business running?

It's not even supposed to be a business is the thing. The money you donate is supposed to be compensation for the time, materials, and money spent on growing the damn plant.

I agree with you it shouldn't be a business in the first place, that holds true for a lot of other things.
Things being what they are, I'm more in favor of a dispensary system with some form of quality control, than the shady-dealer way of doing things. Trust me I know enough people who still have to deal with them and most of the time they are getting grit weed with a lot of chemicals and dirt in it. Ideally things would be like you stated above.

As it stands, having 'dispensaries' is the better of two evils. It beats copping on the streets, but it's just a more legitimized form of 'dealing' 99% of the time.

I honestly don't understand why we can't just give this stuff out for free... I don't have a problem growing some plant and giving it water and pocket change in nutrients. It helps me, it can help others, I can get at least 3-4 ounces per plant which is a lb per 6 plants easily (if not a pound in just trim!!). I know loads of people that I could give out quarters and halves to and not even care about what I spent to get it to them.

One can dream.

LOL, Israel :/

So now I'm paying 18.5 but that's what you get here, its not legal and I got no medicinal permit...for them its about 5 euro a gram of even less !!! lol... I get good stuff (not amazing) but this is why I'm not using all day as I wish I could.

In 2006 it was possible to find 25g of good quality bud for 100 euro, less if you took bigger quantities.
Way more affordable back then.

I dunno if cheap is the problem...more like space, smell , 5-0 and electricity costs that can raise an eyebrow...at least its like that here...I wouldn't risk it in an apartment...

Space,smell and 5-0, i get it. But, maybe a micro grow wont be an eyebrow raiser.. Is it expensive, the electricity in Israel?

I have been planning for mine in a while, but my problem is the space and smell mostly, although the smell can easily be filtered.

Electricity on the rise here...with 30% rise in the last year I think and more coming ahead...

I guess a micro project can be ok...keep in mind that since I live in a small country its difficult since "everyone knows everyone"

The best advice is the shut up and talk to no know no exceptions and live in a middle of nowhere town ;)

Taxes are some of it. It's just due to the overhead of running a storefront business. They've got a couple employees to pay, rent, taxes, insurance. Thousands of dollars every month. Greed comes into play, too, of course.

Wow, Europe is expensive. I am going to be in Amsterdam in a few weeks and wish I knew someone that can guide me to the right hotels to stay at and coffee shops to hit up.

ahh ok so it's not gone into effect yet. sorry I didn't mean to put you in a panic. I just know I was super bummed out to hear that was the decision. shooting themselves in the foot with that one.
