Nic what model Solo do you have?

I have a 3 week old m107 and it fits like a glove. A little tight if anything, but it's still pretty new and I hear they loosen up with use. From what I've read the m107 had the tightest fit, and the most recent model is slightly looser.

My M1D is loose forsure, but so were my 2 M107's. I also find they get looser with higher heat, i guess it's the teflon ring. I've literally had the same stem snug at temp 3 but then becomes looser with more heat.

Kaptan wanna get these to my photographer so will be a couple weeks for sure, hang there with me, they will happen!

V4L Ss takes about 1-2 that why I am ordering high temp silicone end caps, should have those in a couple weeks also.

Hoping mine comes today, we are going to a hot spring resort for the weekend, and having it would make it that much sweeter. I have the 107, I'll let you know how it fits ASAP.

I hope you do JBF! What I know so far is the few folks I have heard from say it fits tight and snug. One guy with a 107 said his was loose. Just really hoping arizer kept the exact I'd as I have the Of of the SS. Really need consistency!

well, if mine happens to be loose, I have an O ring I can put under the cap that would change that in a second.

Thats not what I intended bro, that is not at all what I have strived to overcome, but you gotta do what it takes to make it happen sometimes, I understand. Wish you well on your getaway!

Oh, I know, but if it happens to be that way, I'm not stuck with a loose stem. I am hoping it's the other way around. I appreciate you striving to have it all working as good as possible. One thing I've been learning, if you get in on the first round of any new product, you are likely to have some chance of things not working quite right, on the first pass. That isn't anything new to me, and I know this when I eagerly placed my order on the first run. Kudos to you for trying to make it the best it can be!

Got mine thanks ed this thing hits great. I have an m107 and it fits tight. Light colored wood for the silvers might look good and that high temp cover is a great idea these babies are hot .

Just got my stem!! It's GORGEOUS! and it fits snug in my Solo, cold. I'm eating lunch, then I'll load'er up and give it a go! Very nice packaging, thanks again Ed! Be back after lunch...

Firing it up now... my first and only critique so far, as I am loading it, I noticed the edges of the bowl and around the notches have sharp edges. I will definitely have to be a little careful loading it. I don't know how labor intensive it would be to take the edge off, but I thought I'd bring that to your attention anyway.

Maybe I am just overly cautious. It just dawned on me that this may be intentional, for loading it like a bat... any plans to make a dugout that the solo stem fits in? :brow:

I loaded a full bowl, topped it with a stainless screen to keep the bits from falling out in the heat chamber, put it on setting 3, and let it warm in the bowl as it heats up... first few draws gave me good vapor, and it was much easier to draw on than the glass. The taste is amazing, and I like the feel/size of the stem. Over all a great first impression. Now I will finish this load in my bubbler...

:science: beauty!! It fits nice and snug in my 14mm bubbler, and hits like a dream. So much easier to draw than the glass stems... YOU HAVE A WINNER HERE ED!!

This is actually the first time I have run the solo long enough for it to shut off on me!! Usually, the glass offers so much resistance in the draw, that I can only get a few hits before i want to put it down. I just sat here and puffed on this thing until I realized it was off. You just made the solo so much more functional for me! Also, I won't feel so worried about accidetns w/ the glass. So nice Ed.

**Just had another surprise, after the solo shut off, I pulled the stem out to cool, then dug out the ABV, to see how it looks, it's still greenish/gold and looks evenly vaped, after all those tasty, cloudy hits!! I can still get another round off this load.

+1 for Jam's dugout idea!

Just had a session with my new stem that was extraordinary. At 6 I was getting dense clouds, nothing like I've previously experienced. It resembled the videos I've seen of the Vapexhale Cloud. I figured there must have been accidental combustion. Nope! No charred bits whatsoever. Amazing.

I was not using top shelf either! It was decent, and a tad dry. Definitely going to let some of my nicer stuff dry a bit to try and get the same effect. I hope everyone else is enjoying their's too!

Wow thanks for the great reviews and experiences with the new tubes everyone!

I have gotten a few emails from folks that are having separation issues with these tubes, I have gotten really discouraged this morning but do have a way of resolving this issue.

This is the final design of about four models, this design will be the final style. I work all my wood as dry as I can possibly get it, be it air dried or kiln dried. Like to have it at no more than 5-8% moisture content. The Granadillo I used for these is dry. Seems as I have been the only one to test the final style and haven't had any issues of separation. I turn the the wood down just a little over the ID of the SS and put a slight taper on the wood shaft the is jammed down in to the SS. I actually beat the wood tube into the SS with a soft face hammer for a super solid fit. I am guessing that the 400 degree heat coming from the Solo is shrinking the wood just enough to allow it to separate. This is not cool at all and not what what I wanted. I have had a couple guys already email me last night with the same issue, one said it was no big deal and he would use a piece of paper between the wood and SS as a shim. This is a big big deal to me and damn sure not what I wanted to hear for my first rum of these. I am thinking form here on out while creating the tubes I will add just add a small dab of JB Weld on the upper end of the shaft as an adhesive to give it a better grab that should not ever come apart. I know that Rick from AromaZap used JB Weld with much success on his glass tootie tubes when he had those with the brass fittings before going to the silicone tubing insert now. This would work and would not cause any issues IMO. I am sure alot of you all know that dealing with wood and vaporizers, the wood is susceptible to the heat and with expand and contract. Its the nature of the beast!

Pls hang in there with me you all and do know I will do my very best to correct this from here on out with any new tubes and do my utmost to get each and every customer happy with the first run.

I would like to offer anyone with this issue to send it back to me and I will fix the problem and get it back to ya also reimbursing you for the shipping costs back to me.

Pinoy, new Solo tubes should be available within the the first week on June, probable a the end of that week. Will let you all know here at FC first of course.

V4L, I know I have said it before but Vito says its best when he describes his experiences with any of my wooden pieces. He has a way with words and really manages to describe his use's very well. I think the wood enhances the vapor and adds subtle essences that will vary by the species and density.

I wish all well and a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend here in the states, and to everyone outside!

Paper sleeve under the SS worked fine for me, I had to put some silicone tube over the ends, and tap it on w/ a hammer, so it seems like it's on there good now. I'll get to test it out this weekend. If all is well, no need to send it back, as this is an easy fix if it happens again. I look forward to seeing the other wood styles you come up with, and don't let it get you down too much now! You have our backs, and that's what counts.

Good call with the paper shim! Took all my weight to put it on. Doubt she'll be coming off anytime soon, if ever. No worries at all Ed! Wood is unpredictable, that's one of the things I love about it!

And while I'm on the topic, here's my two cents on possible future wood selections: streaky ebony, spalted maple, and any type of burl. Gotta love the burls.
