Alright everyone, today is the day! The Ed's Wooden Solo tube is up for sale at my shopping cart! These are the Granadillo species I have been wanting o work for a while, turned really well and perform even better. Hi Ed, congratulations ! Just a question about this new solo tube : i had tried to add more holes in my glass tube, but it doesnt work : the more holes i added, the less i had vapor (because too much airflow lower the temp).
So i dont really understand : your tube seems to be fully open, right ? or is it more narrow inside ?
And have you planned to make these tubes with Black wood ?

Goglass plus check out the videos I have posted a page back to see the performance. The solid hole all the way through with the notches works great, don't pack it really tight, that will restrict airflow. I am sure you will enjoy it if you give em a try. May do blackwood in the future, don't have any just now. Will do cocobolo for sure.

Do you have a roadmap of different woods, or did you just bust out a bunch of this wood, and going to play it by ear?

Sessnet, ripped out and bored a bunch of Granadillo, really like this species. Will probably do them in cocobolo also soon, really like the denser species for how they finish. Will do others but will be a little while before I have several. Wanna do these in black wood or even baboon ebony another dense species that is solid black and would match the black solo body nicely, but its expensive! Only have bout 70 pieces of SS this first run and have already gotten rid of 25 since noon! Hang in there with me and ill get ya right when you're ready and am able!

Great job getting these done, and out. You had a lot of people excited, me included! Looks like you did a great job, and I can't wait to try one out!

And that's one awesome idea, to make the Solo stems! Whoever thought of that - deserves a pat on the back.

What about stems for Cloud users? Was thinking of what could possibly be next, or crazier.

Tell me more of the Cloud and show me some pics of what you use for a tube if you can! My guy is great he says if I can think it we can make it happen!

It's just a crazy idea, and don't even know if it's even possible I might have a Cloud sometime in a few months possibly (not sure), and haven't tried one yet!

The Cloud is an all-glass-air-path log-style vaporizer, but it seems to be used mainly with a glass waterpipe. So you usually need a pipe to act as the stem. I don't know if anyone is crazy enough to hit it with a stem. Truthfully not 100% sure how it works, it was just a crazy idea

Hey Ed, how much would shipping be to Canada for one of those new Solo stems? And how can they be best cleaned since i'm assuming iso is out of the question. Hot water soap and pipe cleaners? or will that damage the wood?

^^ I believe Ed offers worldwide free shipping but only ships on monday or tuesday.i think he will ship on other days but that will cost you... I dont know bout cleanin his solo stems but I bet you he planed ahead and made it possible to clean somehow...

Your welcome as you can see I take my solos everywhere they get beat up and broken glass is not fun to mess with so thank you for makin us more portable and durable.

Vapedforlife as Panicfreak stated, shipping is free worldwide! I do only ship on Mondays and Tuesdays for frree, will ship any other day but that cost is up to the customer. I do it all here from web to wood so try and spend the later part of the week in the shop working wood.

As far as cleaning, soaking in ISO or any fluid would be out of the question. I have been using it with a 1/2" screen just inside the bowl, used it a couple times with just the screen only, worked well. I then put a 1/2" retaining clip in the bowl just over the screen to hold it in place. I will be installing the clip with every tube from here out ATM. I like the idea of having the screen snug in the tube and not having to worry about it falling out when clearing the load. Think this is probably best. I will be adding a couple extra screens and a wooden dowel ram rod that can be used to push the screen and clip out. Am thinking that will all the rest of my tubes and stems that they could be cleaned using a few pipe cleaner bundled up and dipped in ISO, then shake out the excess and push through. I believe this process will work best but am sure you all will come up with some great techniques and ideas.

Ubwade, I dont have any lignum vitae, have never even worked that species, have seen it around just never gotten any. You know I do have some dark cocobolo and will probably turn some of it soon am sure. I'll get ya right as soon as able!

....well it's always a good thing to have more options to enhance the vaping experience...I'm sure using wood in the stems willl deliver a different tasting hit from glass.....this should be fun...

Don't know if you all are familiar with Shelby Stanga of Ax Men the TV show on A&E, just spoke to his right hand man bout picking up some of those sunken treasures they recover from the Louisiana swamplands. He is gonna get me a small package of specialty wood species put together for a look at what they have to offer and then go from there. They are just across the river from me bout 3 hours or so away so wouldn't be outa the question to make a trip over the bridge and purchase some!

bro, shelby is a crazy mofo...he doesnt live far from the copperhead surface drive mud motor builders, so they know each other... they had some stories bout ole shelby it really is not that far once you get down round mccomb your smooth sailing.. hope you get them logs ed, I heard sunday our boy shelby hit the mother load... damn if you get some of those logs, you will be the shit!! my man!!!

His guy told me yesterday that he was on his way out to meet Shelby, seems he's madder than hell, they were on their way to check out a stash he had put back that might have gotten stolen from him, he said $30k worth of logs mighta got jacked! Am sure Shelby's got that .44 ready to pop shots in someones ass!

Good morning out there, the new solo tubes have been a great success the last couple of days, am damn near sold out old for the first run, there is only about a dozen or so left! Ok so here's where I am at now. Have 20 Sticks of 20' SS just ordered yesterday, had no idea these would move this fast. Will have enough SS for a while after after I get this order in but there is gonna be about 3 weeks before I get anymore done. 2 week wait in the steel and about another 1 on the machining time. So will be at least 3-4 before more are ready on my end. Some of the 70 are going out to a couple of stores you will probably see soon. Have several going out as samples to other stores so am sure you all will be seeing them around soon!

Thank you everyone for making these a great success! I turn my bro in law onto the solo last night with the the wooden tube, he has tried the CRZ, EV2, and the LB. Says he likes the Solo best of em all, really liked the smooth cool vapor through the wood and enjoyed the buzz. Am sure you all will also.
