Milk, that has to be the most stunning grain pattern I have EVER seen, do you mind telling what looks to be a pinhole in your unit?

Here's todays pic, a little Eiffel Tower figure my mother brought home with her from one of her many business trips all over Europe. She is very fortunate with where her job takes her. :)

Sorry for the repost (meant to load another shot of the top of the cactus). Will have a new entry for today.

Nycdeisel,

Thank you she is a beauty. The pinhole comes from where the ambrosia beetle bores into the wood to a certain depth (doesn't go all the way through). The beetles create a network of tunnels in the wood and cultivate fungus just like ants to feed their offspring. When the new guys hatch they eat up and move out. The fungus is what causes the discoloration but besides the tiny holes it doesn't do any more structural damage and leaves us with the interesting discoloration.

You win coolest/prettiest PD ever in my book. It was just prettiest at first, but the whole beetle thing won her the award for coolest too.

Thank you for the comment Nycdeisel and MattyGTwenty3. Glad people like the wood, and it's fun to have the comments. It was a project from a while back that really turned out well. As we all know Tom does some fine work and that unit was no exception.

I can kind of combine that topic with the book photos people are posting. If you get a chance and think you might be interested in fungus - you can't miss with these two books. Different paths but amazing information none the less. :2c: The environmental applications from Mycelium Running are just awesome, not to mention all the other utility. So for Today's entry...

The cactus from the previous post is actually green, but I wanted to put the PD twist on it so I color replaced it so it looks purple. I think its too cool here for flowers but she's big enough to produce that's for sure!

Quick note on Clear Dome, Pammy got an e-mail this morning. He is well, but no longer selling his products on ETSY. He is showing his product via Facebook and selling direct by e-mail. He is happy with this set-up. So, we will get his contact info and pass it along. Nice to hear from him. Says he is running low on stainless steel PD tips so I better get working on it as he wants to keep producing his art. And he says he has had some new ideas. Of course he has, he is an artist.

Any Strat is a good Strat ;) I like black. No Twang Bar? Is it blocked? I think rosewood is best, but that's just me.

Like the Warhol look. Best in glass entry?? why not . . . Category firsts will be left to the resident PD artist (Pammy). She doesn't know it yet... Piece Keepers is a great name , you should protect it. maybe? :2c:
