Arizer Solo

Thanks for that detailed breakdown havealight!!

That was a quote from Vaporlux. I cut out about 20 pictures. It was back in Oct, I get there through Vaporpedia... I think its one of the first links a couple large paragraphs down. Check it out, he put a lot of time in to it.
I was more.so asking if anyone has done the air-flow mod towards the end of the post, cuz I feel like tinkering...

Did you try the glass screen mod yet ?? I promise it will work.
Do you have any pictures please? That is what I asked earlier (when I said "pics please"), but maybe you missed it :)

I would like to try your mod, all glass sounds amazing!

However sometimes I have a problem visualizing things, I think of 100 possible alternatives or ways of doing it, so not sure EXACTLY how someone else did it.

Thank you! :science:

Sticks, you know I been using my tubes with the crz and the epic, airflow through this piece is significantly more, has the 5/16" bore all the way through which opens to the wide 1/2" ID bowl, the notches are wider than a 1/16", to more of an 1/8" to increase more airflow through those. I dig the wood and always have, the vapor is subtle on 5 and very hearty. I feel the wood cools the vapor as it always has. I definitely feel its an upgrade!

Did you try the glass screen mod yet ?? I promise it will work. I'm out of town for Día de la Madre, but ASA I come back I'll do a tutorial video with all my mods and some cheap and cool(I guess??) glass I bought.
Hang in there vaporistas, more mods in the way.

Ok, don't kill me if this is a dumb question (I'm relatively new to both vaping and glass generally- only owned a NO2 before this), but after searching the forum, I couldn't figure out how a glass screen would work- I've never seen a glass screen except to the extent they are build in to glass pieces, and googling yielded results like this:
44_06_07_08-det_1.jpg

which only confused me more....how do those things work? Anyway, I'd love to try a glass screen rather than the SS ones if anyone has recommendations for what to get that would work...

EDIT:
Ok, came across these: http://www.chicokush.com/honeycomb-glass-screens-small-3-pack/
and Im thinking they might be the right size, but I wonder how much material all those holes would let through...has anyone tried something like this?

Sweet! I'm sure I'll get in line, as I am using the Solo every day now. The airflow in the stem itself is great; it doesn't get constricted until inserted in the Solo. Funny how log vapes are constricted by the stem, while this thing is restricted by the base unit itself.

Would this battery pack do the trick? Seems to be exactly the same specs as the one in vaplexus's pics.

http://www.aliexpress.com/fm-store/...ery-pack-with-PCM-and-2pin-JST-connector.html

EDIT: actually, I did a bit more googling and found that the connector is slightly different. Sorry!

I like how your thinking. I think a lot of people would be interested in finding a replacement battery pack w/ the right connection for these. I'm going to do my best, but in no rush.

On another note, if anyone has done Vapleux's air flow mod, by removing the ring below the crucible, please give some input. Otherwise this evening I'll try it and let ya'll know.

just finished my first Granadillo tube, was so eager, it has a look of high end Koa but finished like a super dense wood like cocobolo, really glossy. Made the video and will upload tomorrow. The first draw is kinda warm but the rest are smooth and tasty. Got 5-6 solid hits from a light load has the 14mm end, fits nice. Really like the airflow, no obstructions. Even dropped it a few times to show how durable, should last a life time.

Man, I'm impressed you found those. You can't imagine how many google searchs I did and couldn't find anything like those Chico Kush screens. They look awesome, I'm so happy you found those. I'm out of town right now, but ASA I arrive home I'm going to take some measurements and see if those will fit in the Solo heating chamber bottom and inside Solo glass stems :)
Would you do me a favor and measure the ID of the Solo heating chamber and ID of Solo glass stems, please???
Right now I'm in L.A for some in-law mom day and maybe I can even pick them up here locally.
BTW my glass screens would be like the ones of the fotos but imagine them like a real flower, just 5 little glass discs , the one in the
center bigger. I would say, they look like a daisy flower, if that makes sense. Would be kind of you cutting in half one of those from the first fotos.

Zangano Cruel,
I had a fun little project tonight. I think I got a lot more air flow out my m107... I'll write something up tomorrow with a clear head...still testing.
Edit: I would never send an arizer in for warranty. opening and seeing plenty of abv after 3 weeks of ownership.... Oh well im having fun, hopefully them canadians will send me parts if i give em my SN for a warranty black list. No need yet though, but i do want a few "teflon diffuser holders"?

@ callbobloblaw

I really liked Arrested Development as well, Buster kills it :) jajaja

BTW, I checked Vaporpedia Solos review, and it says that the OD of a Solo stem is aprox. 12mm, so does the ID of the Solo heating
chamber. So, Chico Kush glass screens go for 8-9mm D, IMO they would work fine in both chambers.
I think we have a winner here callbobloblaw :)
If you can confirm me those measurements I wouldn't have any doubt on buying those.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think these disks would change anything if placed in the Stem. The holes are just to big to avoid weed obstructing them (same phenomenon with the stock stems)
For the SS Bowl, I don't think these disk would be helpfull too as long as it wont avoid the glass stem to go in the bottom of the SS bowl and obstruct the very little airpath holes. A larger disk with appropriate channels would be perfect.

Is it taking a while to heat up because of extra thermal mass in the stem or is your battery just well used?

Not sure, I am not really familiar with the heat up time, what is your experience with heat up time?

Vaporboxed, there could be licensing restrictions based on the country you are in. I could watch the video fine off a Canadian IP, and a Swedish as well as an american VPN. ProXPN is a free american VPN you could use to get past country based restrictions on youtube and other sites.

I am not sure why it said this - "This video contains content from UMG and IODA, one or more of whom have blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

I used my cell to shoot it, how would they know anything of its content?
