I asked about oil leaking out the bottom holes. So I tried the thickest oil I have.

The only difference I can tell is that now things are stickier and harder to seperate than they were with the thin oil... in other words, this shit still leaks:

Yeah, dropping it on the floor and getting it covered in pet hair was reeaal nice...

It actually diarrhea'd all over my ultra first (forgot to take a pic) so after cleaning it up I moved to the univ. adapter on the Persei,

the pic above was just a hint:

I don't know what the deal is but it seems to me like TV hasn't designed any kind of baffle or trap system at all. If the oil goes past the ceramic, it will go out the bottom...

As you can see my ceramic has nearly invisibly small gaps:

yet no matter what draw or heating technique I use... adding any amount of oil always results in some amount coming out the bottom holes. I have no idea how people have put half or full grams in these little things, they seem to be more leak prone and attention-needing then omicarts in my experience so far...

Unless I have some great epiphany, I just can't see any reason to take these TV products out of their extended iso bath...

(Evo is the only thing working for me from them...)


You are putting WAY TOO MUCH in there. This is not at all like an Omicron cart. This is more of a "load as you go" system.

Yea that sucks you are getting those leak issues Joe. Normally I use a BB the size of a good dab to load at a time and never had any leak issues. After extended use I do clean the bottom with an iso q-tip. Hope you find a solution and are able to enjoy your Rev more.

I'm not sure if I am overloading or underloading... will underloading hurt the device if it is ran without enough oil? I just don't seem to be getting any more hits, loaded about one dab size hit and got about 3-4 with one being a little wispier than the others then I proceeded to load another and have since gotten only one small hit. If I have overloaded it will the result only be leaking? And if I did overload it is cleaning the only thing that will help? I currently only have some Jack Herer wax/budder that I ended up with on accident (need vac pump!) that works perfectly on the nail so if need be I will finish it on that.

That is kind of what I found yeah, if you double or so what you have been adding you get the clouds you were looking for but it just gets a bit messy. You can handle it easily when it's hot with paper towels but if you let it cool it can get ugly...

You can't hurt/damage the thing, I just wan't too found of the taste when I did small dabs. It was really hot vapor too...

You won't hurt it running it underloaded. You can also try pulsing the switch, ramping it up to generate vapor, and momentarily releasing the switch, and then repeat. This will serve to prevent the material from rapidly become a fully viscous hot fluid.

Our interface that we ship with the Revolution has a well, so this largely not a problem on our stock units.

Many mods also build in a well (as they are designed to use with e-cig liquids) which are naturally thin liquids.

We will attempt to address tis issue, work has begun, at least the wheels are spinning.

Yeah I was afraid of that, I find small dabs result in rather whimpy hits and I'll have to reload during a sesh. What's worse is that once the dart heats up it doesn't hold oil on anyway.

So the only way I have found of using it satisfactorily was preloading a large dab when cold, which is always messy. And I was actually saying the gap around the ceramic is very small, which I thought would have kept the majority of stuff above until vaped, but as you said, once the oil gets hot it just drops and you cant suck it up.

OK, Joe, I was kind of afraid that was the case. It's not so much you have a reputation of pushing things.....but if the shoe fits....

So here's an experiment (actually several) I did early on with my DART testing trying to address just this matter. I did a similar set of tests with Revolution, but for reasons you're about to see it didn't work as well there. It's a marginal effort to squeeze higher hit counts in and it works if you're careful. Just don't let anyone know, OK?

What I did was paint the upper walls of the lower section with a coat of concentrate. When cold, of course. I used a wood tooth pick to spread it around the walls on the top half or so fairly thick, this is after the unit is primed normally of course. I even screwed around with putting more on the post, which only seemed to work up high as well. You can get a dozen or so hits out if you're careful (let it cool well between so the wall stuff stays there). Then you let it heat up and flow down and collect some more.

You've got to pay attention, but I was able to put a surprising amount on the walls and have it stay there if I was careful. The downside is, of course, flooding it out.

Yeah I was just gradually increasing my dab size until it got to the point where I thought dabbing two or three bb's worth was normal. The dart ended up weighing a bit much :D... but I've cleaned all the threads with iso and after some heavy vaping on the 18650 I've reduced the weight to a normal level again and it seems to be performing at least as well as when I flooded it.

I guess I'll have to get used to carrying it with a vial :D:uhoh:
but so far so good... (again)

Glad to hear you're back on track, JKA. I've no idea who hacked my password and is trying to make like I'm giving out such lame advice....I just hope he cuts it out before someone gets hurt....

I don't know how sticky and solid your goods are, but sometimes I make a couple BBs from some hard SD wax I like and stick them to the lid of one of those little plastic containers you sometimes get concentrates in? The ones about an inch an a half in diameter and a little over a half inch thick? 3 or 4 pre made dabs spaced out. They're very easy to scrape up in a hurry as long as they stay separate. I've got such a container standing by for when I take the DART out into the garden you see.....

Do keep up the good work, the trail you blaze is no doubt being followed.

I was on my way to watch the Avengers last nigh, and my DART died :(. Only had it a month. I've already sent an inquiry to ThermoEssence, hopefully they can help me get it sorted before next friday, when I go see Mr. Waters perform against that Wall.

I also just got mine, but I'm not sure if it's from them, https://www.crystaleliquid.com/xcart/product.php?productid=309&cat=27&page=1 or both. It seems they may be one and the same and may have dropped one of my orders despite assurances to the contrary.

Anyway, it's not the same as the unit I got from E-Cigz six months or so back. Not made of the same materials. And it doesn't work well at all on some of my power supplies. Air being drawn in is forced through narrow passages through the base and adapter rather than coming in slot on the top as before. Did you find this?

I filed slots in one and it seems to work much better. I'm about to go test it out right now, in fact.....

Without modifications it won't draw on mine when tight. There are no vent slots at the top, nor vent holes above the threads on the adapter to connect to the outside.

I threw on a 2.4 that has a little under .5g in it and put in batteries that I had used for 2 Rev sessions last night (I only have the 6v power supply) as I did not want to put in fully charged batteries. I pulsed the switch for 2-3 seconds three times and got a really good hit. I can tell that the pull does feel a bit restricted.

I am not sure if other carts would work as well as the 2.4's.

I'll try more testing but for the moment the 2.4 seems to work, damn wish I had a loaded 4 or 5 to try.

What ohm cart did you try OF?

I can't find my e-cig body to try it on but IIRC it won't work either. The problem is (working backwards) air has to come up the center of the adapter and there is the ability (through slots in the bottom end of the inner tube) for the air to get in if you could get it that far. But the next thing normally 'upstream' would be the two little holes you see above the threads on the cart venting to the area outside above the treads (slots are cut in the top of the sockets in the supplies to feed this. So what happens is the adapter seals on the threads of in the supply and a vacuum is created.

In our units the sockets are sealed to deal with leaks (also some e-cig systems have this problem I understand), this adapter seems to seal everything up counting on there being a free air path through the supply body (to actuate the switch for automatic use in e-cigs). IMO they need to be modified to be useful for most if not all users.

Can you really pull cold air through the unit (before pushing the button)? What supply are you using?

I can pull cold air through the unit, although it is more restricted compared to a cold pull on the Omicron. I tried it on the Rev at 6v. I have taken about 3 more hits using the same method and each time it has worked well.

The only area for air to enter would be the bottom hole on the adapter, how it is getting there I have no clue. Logically the way it fits together so airtight I should not be able to even slightly pull on it without busting a lung. If I can find my charger I'll try to take a pic, but I am fairly certain we have the exact same adapter. I did notice that from a bird's eye view the adapter seems to have a smaller diameter than my Rev when it is attached? Even if this is the case, and air is getting through the sides, how would it get up through the adapter and cart? With just the adapter attached, how does yours look OF?

I just took a few more hits. The pulls are restricted but not to the point where I am straining my lungs and got a big cloud of vapor with each hit.

I'll post the pics later if I am able to charge the camera.
