MAJOR grats on the cigs. It's a pretty long battle. Had a 3 pack a day habit. Quit cold turkey. No patches, gum, etc.

YOU CAN DO IT !!!!!! Regarding your health, it is the ABSOLUTE best thing that you could possibly do.

Congratulations HotBoxVapeBongin! I just quit two months ago, cold turkey, after a pack a day for the past 4 years...and I LOVE it! Definitely a tough road at times, but as I'm sure you have/will notice(d) the benefits far outweigh the negatives! I'm happy for ya HotBox :)

Keep up the good fight, man. Every time you resist the urge, it makes the next one take a bit longer to get to you and once it does, it's a bit shorter...........every time.

Nicotine is a bitch, but man, it is sooooo worth the fight. Just keep riden' those urge waves.

nice. i quit 2 1/2 years ago an i don't miss smelling like an ash tray one bit.

also don't miss the ashes all over the place from cigs and weed.

think of the money you'll save. invest some of that in another vaporizer. :D

Congratulations ;) Really love hearing stories of people quitting lol... normally I'm not a fan of quitters but in this case - Quitters ROCK!

One of the best moves I ever made was to quit smoking. Got into ecigs and then that led me here. I can't stand the smell or taste of any smoke now and soon celebrating 3yrs cig free. Not far behind on herb either. Oh how I wish I had started vaping 20 years prior lol.

Keep it up... I swear it's all downhill after you get through the crunch time.

Good job!! Keep up the good work, and resist those urges!! Just take a sip of vapor everytime you crave a cigarette. :)

I have been smoke free for 5 years now myself. My lungs feel 100% better now.

thanks everyone :) still going strong day 13. no cravings what so ever at this point :)

Dude, nice! You're out of the woods. All you have to worry about now is the sudden cravings to smoke that might come when you're bored, or after a meal, see someone else smoking, etc... just remember that these urges quickly pass, and you will laugh at them in hindsight.

Couldn't have said that better myself.

Just watch out for the triggers, like after a heavy meal, a cup of coffee, after sex, after a few drinks, watching TV, etc etc etc. You are really fortunate that the cravings have gone away after just 13 days, but don't be lulled into not being vigilant. Those cravings can really sneak up on you when you're least expecting them, and when you do successfully strike them down, as Pelton said above, laugh at those cravings for even thinking that they could to take ya down.

Edit:

And AG makes a GREAT point below. Don't mind-fuck yourself into EVER thinking that, "Fuck, one cig can't hurt". Thirty-five years ago, I used to smoke 3 packs a day. I haven't had a cig in 35 years but I DO know that if I just had a few puffs on one, I'd be back to 3 packs a day in no time. Same thing with coke. Coke and nicotine were my two drugs of choice. Like having one cig, if I just did just one line, it would be off to the races again.

I just find it amazing that there are some people out there that can smoke 3 cigs a day for years, or make a gram of coke last them a month. Guess we're all wired a bit differently.

thanks for the support :). just like the saying goes in NA, one is too many, and a thousand is never enpough. that saying goes right with how it is if i go back to opiates or cigs. this site is helping me out right now alot because when i went on my run with dope i lost all my true friends.. :( but i am happy to be here!

good stuff, man! to hell with the damn cigarette companies! yeah, like lwien said gotta be wary of the "i've stopped for so long, one cig can't really hurt" mindset. Also, luckily these days, it may be relatively "easier" to quit especially when you find a good vape! rock on!

p/s Any of you guys ever heard of Alan carr? i read his 'easy way to quit' book and it really helped. i'm sure some tough hombres (like lwien) could just quit cold but i needed to 'program' myself somewhat differently to handle the addiction.

i can't find the link to the book but if anyone is interested, this is the website http://allencarr.com/ i cannot vouch for the organization as i have not dealt with them before and my positive experience is solely from the book.
