Yeah, that video is VERY painful to watch as a glass owner, for some reason it just feels like that video is in poor taste. I understand what they are trying to demonstrate, but to see someone blatantly disrespecting glass like that just makes it really tough to stomach.

It reminds me when the headshop I worked at had a booth next to another headshop at the Seattle Hempfest. The booth next to us was selling these dry pipes real cheap. They kept bouncing them against their wooden counter top. DING DING DING ALL DAY LONG through the multi-day event I could hear them bouncing those dang dry pipes. It drove me CRAZY! Worst of all they would sell the pieces they were bouncing around to customers. They were trying to prove how strong their glass was. You can knock your piece against something and that can cause it to weaken and break later on... so basically they pre-weaken your pipe for you before you even by it. I was so upset with them. It was just irresponsible.

Vapor Sloth
I may be a sucker but I just purchased some of this stuff called Slide Right™. I'll try it out and put up a review in the vapor related equipment section in a few weeks. I don't like the sticky/gritty feel I get from gong joints, I think this will solve it. I was going to get their Joint Wax™ product but I don't need to stick things together like that, I just want to lube this glass-on-glass situation.

+1 to T-Dub. That stuff is great.

:peace:
Any other thoughts you can share with us on the product? Thanks for letting me know, you are the first who has stepped up and at least admitted to me that you have even tried the stuff, thanks! :)

No longer dogless
I've just made an interesting discovery. I've been vaping just a leetle bit too much since my Cloud got here. So I was going to resign myself to using the old PD for an evening to conserve a bit, when I decided to see if I could get a seal between the Cloud and the PD stem - I've always thought a part of the efficiency of log vapes is the tiny stem design. And lo and behold, with a small grommet (from the end of my old Supreme) added to the PD stem, it sealed perfectly with the Cloud. Seems to be every bit as efficient as the PD that way. Every little bit helps when you're broke.

I can definitively state my VXC @ 5:00 (max) produces a cleaner more potent high than any other vape I've used. Reminds me of a BHO high! The buzz also lasts longer. I've been doing 3 sessions a day on the same meds I was averaging 4 sessions a day on.

Just noticed that even at 9, SOMETIMES my unit gets too hot to hold. Tonight its on 9 and its barely warm. Last night at 9, it was too hot to hold.

This sounds awesome! So, would it be safe to say that you aren't worried any longer about being at max temp, and having no head room for higher temp herbs, as you mentioned previously? If so, this is good news :)

Are you holding your unit by the bottom half? IIRC someone from VXL mentioned that the unit should be held around the bottom half vs near the top.

Edit* PoopMachine, you say sometimes; do you mean after the unit becomes fully warmed up? or do you mean regardless of warm up, it is just an intermittent issue?

I said I was concerned, not worried. I'm able to employ little tricks like letting it sit on green awhile and gently shotgunning the bottom of cylinder, an undocumented trick I know will become popular. ;) The VXL crew is trying to strike a balance between efficiency, durability, and performance. They have the ability to post program the heating algorithm on my unit (or anybody's) if necessary, but why fix it if it ain't broke?

I hear ya, and that's what I gathered from your previous post pertaining to the temp of your new unit. :) Sounds like it will be a good range of temps for everyone; you're satisfied, along with others, on the high end...while members such as Jackstraw are loving the low end...and many in between!

Glad to hear so many people are happy with this product, I'm still anxious to get mine!

Nice trick, Pappy. I've already made a note of it and will hopefully soon be able to do my own "Pappy Shotgun". Does the glass down there on the ass end get very hot?

Wow I wonder how many e-mails they sent out a couple weeks back. My preorder was March and I'm still waiting on new stock / manufacturing retools. Perhaps there were fewer orders last spring than I would have thought.

So I've seen at least one report of people ordering in May of `11 getting an email to order, can anyone else from May of '11 confirm this? This would mean they are getting to the end of the $350 price point orders.

I think I remember getting in right under the deadline for the $350 pre-order. That was 5/6/11. So it must have been soon after that that the price increased. This would lead me to believe that the final filling of the mad rush of cheaper pre-orders (that have "clogged" the inital supply/demand dynamic - especially due to the limited roll out) may be a sign that we may be much closer to more recent orders getting filled in a much more timely fashion.

Just my speculation...
