dude you obviously no nothing of simple physics..... bigger bolt = bigger nutscrews. That's why on those Illadelph's you posted, you don't see 18.8 mm ground joints being used as the attachment socket for the Illy Coils ;) :2c:

Temperature changes causes stress, even heating and cooling eases it a bit. I am not sure but does VXC offer replacements parts to purchase in case of such situations. (I have asked this question before but for some reason it has remained ignored or the response might have gone unnoticed.)

So the fact that it is bigger negates the fact that it is a ground glass joint?

BC customs pieces which use multiple percs uses 18mm connections.

Tea Party, what is the point of continuing the argument, cant we just agree to disagree. I side by the reason of stress. It is not to say that the piece will break but its good to have some precaution and proper care for your investments. Its your money, do as you please...

As far as this argument being bickered about, what about the people who are nagging for a longer warranty who have no interest in buying the product...

Two wrongs make a right:/ ...Same logic the pill-poppin,hate monger in your avatar represents

Edit:when the bickering here goes against forum rules, we would have every confidence the mods would handle it.

mod note- speaking of forum rules, you're over the line on the Be nice rule in attacking someone for their avatar.

That just happened...
The first important temperature for Borosilicate is 250 degrees Celsius or 302 Fahrenheit. At this temperature and above you need to make sure to cool things in an even manner. If you don't it can result in thermal shock. I should stress the word CAN because I am not saying it will. I am saying it increases the likely hood because it puts stress on the molecular structure of the glass.

Let's see here. 250 degrees celcious = 482 degrees farenheit. Should we trust the rest of your statement as being well informed? lol

mod note- the 250 number was in error and has been corrected.

That what I was saying from the beginning...

No what you said from the beginning was "If I snapped the joint off my unit I would in no way expect it to be replaced under warranty, that is just ridiculous."

And what me, and just about everyone else here have said is that...joints can possibly be weak; heat, condensation sticking the joints together, and the fact that the tube slides on and off the joint and has to balance on the joint can all be factors that could lead to a broken joint and a legitimate warranty claim.

Typical to your username, you don't give a shit about anyone else and you take the side of the corporation over the consumer. But here is the thing, pretty much nobody gives a shit about your opinion, we want to know if VXL believes in weak joints and thermal shock, chances are they do.

Finally, thanks for hijacking the thread for the past few pages with your denial of the existence of things that everyone knows exist (you probably pass-off evolution as just another theory) and more thanks for your "insiders guide" to the "glass game" you've been a part of for a whopping 6 years (I've got Bob B and Snoddy pieces probably as old as you).

Here is my review of my cloud so far, it got buried in minutes with this waste of time argument:

So I have had my cloud for 5 days and these are my observations:

1. Works as advertised.
2. Equal density and flavor to VHW.
3. Much easier to use than VHW (though I think there is still a bit of a learning curve).
4. WAAAAY more efficient than VHW.
5. 1hr shut-off sucks...wish I could shut-off this function.
6. Takes about 15mins on 5o'clock setting to warm up the whole unit, which for my unit is necessary to get good clouds when I dial it back to the Noon setting.
7. It is definitely a connoisseurs' vape in that every time I use it I have to remind myself to be careful as shit from start to finish...cause its glass, and glass breaks.
8. I love it, my DD for sure....and I'm gonna hate if it fails, this was my main issue with VHW, I ended up having to get a whole bunch of them so that I could have piece of mind that I would not go weeks on end without my tastey blue rips. I know that the VXL Support Team is gonna work hard, but I wish they didn't have to, and I am hoping that the wrinkles get ironed out. It is def VXC 1.0 and we can all say we were there way back when, but I'm looking forward to VXC Grade A.

mod note- stay on topic and away from personal attacks.

[EDIT] Sorry, but that ^^^ was the main point I agreed with. Couldn't help quoting that entire post though because of some of the smart-ass comments made by Tea Party on the last few page (especially one to me).

+1. I said I'd be interested in buying an extended warranty in the future and Rush Limbaugh over here asked me "how much do you spend on pot a year?". If an extended warranty won't be offered I'm sure VXL will still take care of certain incidents. Oh and I'm not bickering or whining and I definitely plan on buying this vape when it's available individually (still not sure if I'll be able to pass on my preorder though). Regardless of some of these minor issues I can't wait to own a Cloud.

So.... any need on an universal power supply? that support 100-240v?

If so, then I guess it'll be ready for mass production?

Question: Was that turned up full blast or some other heat level? How long did you let it run before you measured? I am just wondering so I can get a better idea.

Glad to accommodate. Here's the post with the measurements I took:

http://www.fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapexhale-cloud.5247/page-87#post-218376

Short answer: Noon setting, 1+ hours. The heat did not rise with additional time.

I was mostly interested in the temp at the herb inside the ELB. I'll take additional readings with the setting higher, that should be interesting, too.

A few updates/responses from the VapeXhale Team...

1. Regarding Thermal shock - In the two years we have tested the Cloud, we haven't had an incident like Mr.SNM happen. With that said, just because it didn't happen to us, that doesn't mean it won't happen to anyone in the future. We are communicating with him directly and will work out something mutually agreeable.

We designed the Hydratubes to sit vertically on the Cloud to reduce any stress on the joint. We also explicitly state that the Cloud should always be used with your hand supporting the weight of the Cloud, especially with the standard 45 degree joints in waterpipes. Given the temperatures that the we are operating at, there shouldn't be any issues with thermal shock under normal operations. Again, we are working with Mr. SNM to deduce what happened and help him out with replacements.

2. Regarding warranties/faulty units/returns/exchanges - as previously stated, we are re-examining the manufacturing process. The good news is that units hand built by PowerNerd do not exhibit the same issues but the obvious downside is that we only have one PowerNerd. We have identified a few steps in the assembly that can be improved on and will be testing in the upcoming week to see how it improves consistency.

Those that are waiting for their replacement units, please be patient with us as we want to take a few extra measures before sending out your replacement unit. One thing I would like to address is the growing feeling that the forum members are acting as VXC guinea pigs I will be the first admit that if I were an outsider reading the reviews, I would share similar feelings. The truth is, PowerNerd had been micromanaging the assembly plant with our earliest units and gradually removing the training wheels so that more units could be produced more quickly. As that happened, we noticed more inconsistencies with our units. This is something we are working together to solve and we will be slow rolling until we feel comfortable that the root problem has been identified.

Sorry for the long winded post, hope this addresses most of the issues that were being discussed over the weekend.

Thanks StoneMonkey. Can you answer my question regarding what you plan on doing for unit that happen to break at the ground glass joint? Can it be repaired, or we looking at a full replacement of your unit? Also any estimate on the price of the repair if it can be done? Thanks again! I can't wait to order mine.

Also OBG thanks so much for linking me to that post of yours. Good information!

cool. not to mention, there will also be circumstances where a user could have been vaped outta his mind, 'broke' the cloud unknowingly, and then when sober discovered that the vxc/ht had broken 'by itself'.
