Underdog Log Vapes

Great Scott!
I'm pissed! I just bought the black leaf nautilus yesterday, because I wasn't able to find such a thing as the aquavape. Please give a feedback when you have tested it :)! Maybe a little video of your piece in action ?? that would be awsome.. Anyways, this piece looks very nice and gives even more serious pros to the UD!

I've had it for a long time now. I think it works great. Just a real bitch to clean. My friend has one and is able to clean the ONE spot I can't, thanks to his extended q-tips lol.

it's not paint bro it's smurf's blood. It's very nice though but I guess this paint does not make the unit very stealth :)

I've got to get one of those aquavapes!

I prefer the Silika bubblers for use with my UDs personally these days. They're small, affordable and easy to use and much easier to clean than the AV.

Haha actually it's not the same one.. but I guess it is similar huh?

The piece isn't technically painted, it's dyed with different types of permanent light-fast pigment dyes. The pigments can be mineral or plant in nature I think it depends on the color. The spots are drawn on with a black sharpie marker then washed with ISO to smooth and fade them.

How is the diffusion on the BC49?

I'm thinking of getting myself one very high end bubbler after a while of saving, but those prices are so good! It may not be art but it looks like one hell of a performing bubbler.

It's awesome, at least to this glass noob. I think Gonzo or someone had a video of it in action maybe they can point us to it so we can see again..

Hey do you know if this company ships to europe? The website is poor in information and I don't know if it's a small glass-shop or a proper seller. (I don't have those kind of products in France lol). Maybe if you dealt with them already you have some information, otherwise I will just email them.

Hey Muut the company that makes the Silika pieces only do wholesale as far as I can figure. Not sure if any of their wholesalers will ship to Europe or not but maybe someone around here knows of one that will. Abysmal ordered me a piece, not sure from where but maybe he could chime in.

We tried being a wholesaler of their pieces but they said they didn't want any more wholesalers because it would dilute the market. We pointed out that most of their wholesalers have crap for a web presence but they didn't seem to care.

they ship international. this one http://www.boroworx.com/category/bubblers think they are affiliated with the silika company. wouldn't say they are the most efficient glass company around (bet they 'test' their products a lot), but they'll get around to your order if you wait long enough (or you send them reminders). I recently ordered 2 products and the shipping to asia cost me a bomb though.

if you're in europe, maybe you want to try this. cheaper and all but a possible option (i haven't ordered from here before) http://www.head-shop.de/07953.html

Almost got an aqua vape, but thanks to you all was steered away. Got a Grav Labs bubbler that is basically the same as that Silika, except it just has slits instead of a shower head.
It's the perfect companion to my dog...!

Just wanna throw it out there my only issue with the aqua vape is the difficulty in cleaning. It is still the only water filtration I can take off, put in my pocket, drive to a friends house, pull it out and hit it lol. It's a pretty nice piece for the cost. I'm only looking for a bubbler to have something more fancy and maybe a higher level of diffusion. I still suggest the aqua vape for some reasons, but a bubbler is simply more fun to me haha.

I am thinking about picking up one of these. I was skimming through this post but I think I missed it. Can you let me know if I can hook this vaporizer up to my 18mm ground glass water pipe? I want to be able to run this vaporizer through water.

Did I read that right that it takes up to 1 hour for the vaporizer to reach max temp for the larger sizes?

Yes you can run it with a water pipe. As for the 18mm I'll let a glass pro answer the best way to use it but I'm positive it can be done and done well.

Some of them can take 1 hour sure, but for a comparison my twig will heat up in my car in about 2-3 minutes. I've never really timed it at home but under 15 for sure. My King's Jester Underdog takes 20min-30 min but I've left it at temp for a few months now with the occasional turning it off to put some underbutter on it or something. For most people you really only need to let it heat up once.

Oh so you leave yours running 24/7 basically? Don't you worry about having it running while you are not home?

I was looking at: http://www.underdogvapes.com/catalog/vapes/all-vapes/12887/

You said you have that and it heats up in about 20-30 minutes?

You use this one in your car: http://www.underdogvapes.com/index.php/catalog/vapes/all-vapes/12912/
do you have one of those power converters for your car?

This looks better then the purple daze. I want a cloud but I think I will have to wait a long time for my my turn to order.

Both the small Silika and Grav Labs bubs are great for the size. I preferred the showerhead design because I am a fan of showerhead percs.

As far as using an UD with an 18mm, it is definitely possible. A simple way would be to get a 18mm to 14mm reducer and just plug in with the silicone stem provided by Dave. My new preferred way is using a 14mm all glass turbo tube from Alan. This is just my preference as I am really becoming a fan of using glass as much as possible to preserve maximum taste.

I do leave it on 24/7 365 :). No worries at all. Once it hits max temp it never gets any hotter. Plus the outside of the vape is pretty warm but if it fell on a carpet it wouldn't char it or anything, much less start a fire.

Mine is similar to that.

http://www.underdogvapes.com/index.php/catalog/vapes/all-vapes/11567/

I have a twig similar in size to that but its got a prototype core that is sort of experimental. I'm pretty sure that is why I get the 2-3 minute heat up time, but I don't know that it will be safe under the higher voltages my car puts out for too long. Its great in the car though basically 2 min heat up hit it 2 maybe 3x and have dark fully extracted looking ABV that isn't even worth saving in my opinion. Very hot. My other full size underdog is much cooler but still gives me great extraction at home, and dark abv in the car, but no where near as dark as the twig. The full size underdog lets me enjoy it and hit it slow. The twig combined with the cars higher voltage is all about getting the job done fast and hot without ever combusting it obviously.

This is superior to the PD in every way I'd say. The UD is a "next generation artistic PD" to me with many improvements across the board.

I wanted the cloud but honestly I think it was just really good marketing. It's pretty cool but what I like about it is the safe effective hard hitting vapor path with glass. I have exactly that for a fraction of the price with my UDs. Maybe someday I'll get one when the price drops and you dont have to wait, but I can't see me EVER getting rid of my underdogs. Too reliable and its so nice having it running 24/7 ready whenever I am. Not to mention they are quite pleasing to the eye IMO, especially after using it.

A lot of the vapes on Dave's site now have the insulated core. If you read the information for each vape it will tell you the model core it has.

I have 3 pups that run 24/7 in different rooms. 2 have the newest insulated core and one has the first generation 24/7 core. I have not seen any reason to unplug them as they draw very little power and are always ready to go for a walk

My Cloud has been walking side by side with my UD's for the past week and both are playing nice together

i also leave mine all for 24/7. i used to unplug it every night but stopped doing it since its unnecessary and i like having it always ready to use. im not exactly sure what type of core mine is, definitely one of the more recent ones but not sure if its the new insulated ones, but it is definitely up to temp in 15mins max. if you look a page back, it was quoted that UD's are comparable to the performance of the Cloud and i have no doubt in that whatsoever.

I unplug mine at night and when I'm away. I'm used to have things off when I'm away/asleep, also always unplug the tv at night. that has a reason tough, sometimes when it's off but not unplugged suddenly the red light blinks and the screen goes on(still black but with backlight) and it 'realizes' it has no signal and goes off again. no fully off unless you unplug it

would say about 20-30 minutes heatup, 20 and I can hit it but 30 for best performance. so I plug mine often in right after coming home, by the time I want to vape it's already warm. or in weekends I plug it in first thing after waking up, by the time I have made and eaten my breakfast and ready to enjoy my free time it's warmed up

This sounds very appealing. I have a random question... does anyone have a plenty or extreme Q and can you compare how dense the vapor is versus those? I am a long time smoker trying to transition to vaporization. I want something that delivers those great thick water pipe hits. This looks like it is a good contender.

I like that you can leave it on. It means you are ready to go at any time. Time can be a big factor for me. Sometimes the 4 minutes I need to heat up the unit can be to much time for my schedule. I am getting a Solo today in the mail. I am excited to be able test that out.

Today I did notice how nasty smoking a bowl tasted versus using my plenty and the water pipe.

Don't have those but big milky bong rips are absolutely possible. You can push the screen closer to the heater to run it hotter as well. Adjustable in that way without even messing with the voltage. I have no worries about leaving mine on for months as I have. No problems at all.
